Merchandise in Goodwill in town of Orange, VA is severely overpriced. Some merchandised is more expensive than in other retail stores.

Whoever is responsible for pricing needs to be replaced. Goodwill gets FREE DONATIONS, that are then SOLD. It is suppose to be a place where people who don't have nice things can go try to find some for a REASONABLE PRICE. Not to mention I don't think it's right just because something is name brand, or obviously expensive the price is jacked up, and the items are pulled aside and set upfront. First of all everyone should get the chance to find a treasure, second again THE ITEMS ARE FREE, so if u jack the price up on those "special name brand" items they won't sell as fast, not to mention you're keeping someone who might have never had that nice dress, pair of shoes, or purse from ever getting them.

The prices in this particular Goodwill location are not only ridiculous, but seem to be getting progressively worse.
I don't know who determines the pricing, but it's pretty far removed from reality.
$2.99 for a small lacquered box that has a great chip out of the top, as well as numerous cracks all along the rim.
$1.99 for one of those cheap glass florist vases with a spray paint finish, and the spray paint is all scratched and peeling off. Sure wish I could upload a photo on THIS one!
$5.00 for a skein of yarn? Are you kidding me?!
And this! $3.99 per pajama piece. Not for the set of pajamas. By the piece! That's $8 for a set of pajamas! Not to mention they were old, and worn, and "pilled"!
And then to add insult to injury, Goodwill is now asking customers if they want to "round up." People are already spending their money in there, and then Goodwill is going to try to nickel-and-dime their last little bit of change out of them? Disgraceful!
Today was the last day that I will ever set foot in this store again.
This is no reflection on the employees who are just doing their job.
Employee performance is the only good thing that I can think of to say about this store.
I had a shop for 20 years in which I sold antiques, as well as gently used items. I had to PAY for MY items, but I still managed to price them reasonably, and realistically.
I can only surmise that Goodwill's greed has overtaken their common sense. *rolls eyes in disgust*Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - D B.Unionville, VA031Dec 29, 2018
They would not take nice metal shelving. Shelving was not overly large or bulky. Guess I'll start taking my donations to the Goodwill in Culpeper, I've received much friendlier service there.

Smaller than some other area Goodwill locations. Don't let that deter you, though - this place is loaded with merchandise, plenty of bargains and a friendly staff.
