Pretty speedy. In and out. We used the drive thru for the donations and it did take a minute or 5 for staff to notice the woman ahead of us.
The guy made sure to give us the tax form-WOOP WOOP! And we were on our way, lickety split.
The only thing we'd mention is that at another location, the attendant took the items out of the car for us. Here, they did not. It's probably just bc of COVID.
Will come back again!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Sean D.West Hartford, CT52831667Apr 8, 2021
Not the worst Goodwill I've been to but certainly not the best either. I came here looking for an antique Wagner skillet to restore, but unfortunately Goodwill's bottom feeding clientele were swarming the (tiny) homegoods section like a Mesopotamian souq with zero sense of social distance. Not wanting to expose myself to a potential covid hotspot I was forced to flee the store. More or less what I expected going in. Maybe I'll try again after this all blows over...

I hate to give a Goodwill a 1 star since its for a cause but this location is the worst of the locations I've been too. In the back right corner of the store they have piles of random stuff. Nothing is organized over there. Its all kind of tossed there. Perhaps its because the building is too small but they could throw away a lot of the worthless mismatch donations and really organize that place to sell a lot of their good donated merchandise.
The staff was nice but unfortunately I can't get past the condition of the donated products and the organization. Perhaps this location could benefit from a larger building as mentioned above like the Waterbury location did.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Mike K.SoMa, San Francisco, CA01Sep 26, 2021
Go to drop stuff off, they say the don't take it, What do you take? My items are not on your dont take list, but you have the same thing for sale inside. Not go there again

Goodwill in Southington is very odd. Its appeal is naturally that it's a good secondhand shop. You donate your items, they sort through them to get the decent quality items they can sell for an inexpensive price, and as a nonprofit they help out the less fortunate in the community. All sounds great, right?
... But donating here is a bit of a hassle. Case in point. We had a bin of clothing to donate and we stopped down. They have a dropoff door. No one was attending it. The door was- it seems- intentionally blocked and glutted with donation items. We waited five minutes. Nobody came by. As the bin had nothing hazardous, we left the bin of clothes there as best we could. Not how the process should go at all.
I think it has a few things to improve upon to make it more functional, but it's a good service and good cause nonetheless.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Susan E.Southington, CT121May 18, 2018
I went to drop of some items this morning. Person was very rude to me. I usually don't drop of to the Goodwill store. And after this I don't think I'll do it again. He was very rude and inconsiderate. We don't do anything here ourselves, we don't like to do the heavy lifting or touching of anything. Isn't part of your job to help carry things from the car for the customers? Isn't that what you get paid for.
