This store has its good points and its bad. The book section is perhaps my favorite - the variety of subjects is excellent and I have gotten a few books that are somewhat valuable for a little under $2 apiece!! As for the other areas, there is a lot of what appears to be junk and there are many items that really look to be more appropriate for the trash bin. Personally I think in some cases it has a lot to do with how the items are displayed on the shelves. Some shelves are set up pretty decently and others are a jumble of a mess. Items are carelessly thrown on shelves in some areas and a lot of items end up on the floor. It is obvious that no one does damage patrol in the store - when something falls on the floor or the shelves get messy, they stay that way. I understand that many thrifters can easily look past a tangled mess and choose items despite the haphazard presentation, but there are those of us who need a little inspiration by seeing the merchandise more nicely displayed. The clothing sections are pretty decently arranged and so are the linens and drapery sections, but the back wall where household appliances, lamps, and other miscellaneous items are located looks very messy. As far as the prices go, I haven't honestly come across items that seem to be overpriced as some people have noted - I would imagine that it depends on what you are looking for. What I look for mostly are books, picture frames, small glass pieces or pottery to use as containers for candle making, and plush throw blankets for my dog. All of these items are more than reasonably priced. I recently found a vintage picture frame just like several that I already have in my home - I purchased these frames back in the 80s and they were very highly priced back then. I got this 8x10 frame for 3.50 - it was quite a steal. There are many great finds here but I wish the store was cleaner and better arranged.

Is a store that the prices are too much high and the personal not is qualified, i went to the store of wallingford and a employee name "JULlISSA" was so rude not has education no respect,I ask for a product that has no price on it and she me gave a value too high and I said that I don't think that cost that and she respond to me " if a don't like that price that I can live it ", but she give me a nasty look... who think she is?
She can't talk to me like that only because I go to shop in the store I mean how a stupid person can be in the front of a business.
I'll apreciate if the maneger of this store do something about it.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Jean H.Sturbridge, MA211Jun 15, 2019
Terrible shopping experience There is a lot of merchandise but extremely overpriced and of average quality
On my most recent visit the young girl who rang us out accused us of tampering with a price tag in order to change the price. She doubled down by insisting "she saw us remove the tag" which was impossible since we didn't tamper with the tags. We are professional women in our fifties who happen to like thrifting. However, after being treated with such disrespect by the staff at this store we will never return and will no longer bring donations here either.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Jill B.Berlin, CT01Jun 16, 2019
I have been a customer at this Goodwill for many years and have never had an issue until this last Saturday. While I was checking out I had a dress that did have the hang tag on it, but the sticker price tag was removed. I showed it to the cashier so that they could get s price check on it. They brought it to the back room to get a price on it. The cashier came back to tell me the price and it was way overpriced so I said I didn't want it.
She (Paige) then accused me of removing the sticker price and told me I could give her the part of the tag I removed - since she saw me do it!!! I was shocked and appalled at her accusations. I go thrifting as a hobby that I love and have no need to steal from Goodwil!
I will be writing to their Corporate office and will not be shopping there again! Very disappointed!!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Stephan P.Wallingford Center, CT05Mar 10, 2012First to Review
Great store. Super nice employees. Abundant turnover with merchandise.
I applied for a part time job there but the Store Manager on several occasions refused to see me for no apparent reason. When I did catch a glimpse of her she looked awful unhappy. Everything Easter Seals stands for she seemed to be on the other side.
Kudos the the workers!!!!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Carrie T.Wallingford, CT06Mar 22, 2013
