Granada Surf Shop

This place was so helpful!!! The young man named Kekoa was very knowledgeable. My family and I have never surfed before and were on vacation this past week. I would definitely hire him as a surf coach of some sort, thanks for all your great help!

I'm a lover of surf shops , and always hit up the ones surrounding beach towns in hopes of finding the best sea life goodies. I'm used to the usual Roxy, Billabong, Pellagic and so on. However, this shop surprised me by carrying none of that. Usually a bummer but not here. Granada Surf Shop prides itself on carrying merchandise from local business owners- and it's awesome. I had to control myself so I wouldn't buy three different shark tees and Florida hats. And it's not touristy style either. They're high quality, stylish and practical wear. I loved this store. Not to mention the dude staffing it was friendly and helpful, and went along with my terrible jokes.

First thing first. I'm a firm believer that in order to be successful in life, your character must be on display at all times. Doing the right thing and putting others first. The owner of this shop is Dave, and it's easy to see why a vacation-er or a regular would feel completely welcome and at home at this place of business. I bought a shirt that was the wrong size and they took it back with the tags off without any hesitation. Then today I rented a surfboard; Dave called me and left a voicemail that they were closing up shop early. He was very kind to be sure that he wasn't putting me out of my rental agreement even though they were done for the day. This is a place where you can count on being treated right and fairly... and then some. Support this local surf shop and be sure to check out some of Dave's personal boards (they won't have prices on them ;). I will always stop in if/when I return to Ormond Beach.

Stopped by yesterday and met Dave! He is about to celebrate the one year anniversary of his surf shop. They have a great selection, his is very knowledgeable - having worked in the business for quite some time! They rent paddle boards and he can educate you on what kind you might like based on your purpose. Fun shop, stop by and support local!
