Amazing Japanese food! I have been here couple of times and it's my husband's and I favorite Japanese restaurant. Very authentic and the food is delicious. I have tried different things but my absolutely favorite are gyoza, SUKIYAKI Hot Pot, sushi, and Katsu don.
The service is very good and fast. The food quality is excellent, I recommend to do a reservation even during week days, it's not easy to just walk in, you might not be able to get in.
The ambience is also nice, usually quite pleasant and not noisy at all.
The only bad thing I have to say is they don't have a baby changing table in the bathroom so I needed to go to my car to change my baby's diaper. Except for that I love this place. Take in consideration also the prices, it's not very cheap but the food is great quality and delicious so it's a reasonable price.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jan 10, 2024
Great place for truly authentic Japanese food. Reservations are a must! Even on a week day! We enjoyed the ambience, very attentive service and trying new things on the menu. Most items we ordered we really liked. The sushi quality was definitely better than your regular "sushi restaurant". The prices definitely reflect that as well.
One negative for us was that there were a few patrons that were not very respectful of other diners, and it was not addressed by the staff. At one table the guy was chatting away on FaceTime loud enough to carry through the entire room, and at another there was a family with kids who had "baby shark" on their iPad for a better part of an hour, loud enough to block out the actual restaurant's music. Now I'm a mom, and have had to resort to a use of phone/ipad when my kids were running out of patience, so I get it, but we wished the waitress asked them to turn it a bit down.. it was very hard to rectify "baby shark" on repeat with a fancy, reservations only authentic Japanese restaurant.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jan 1, 2024Updated review
Back again! This place has become a staple to us when we find ourselves in Florida and I could not be happier!
On this particular winter day, the Chicken Katsu Curry Rice was calling my name and I was so satisfied by the end! There is a decent portion of chicken, but the curry sauce is really everything you could ask for! I loved combining the rice with the curry and a bit of the red pickles for the perfect bite!
Tempura appetizer was also nice to have! Nothing unique about it, but as a Japanese food lover, it satisfied the craving. The appetizer comes with 2 shrimp tempura, a piece of kabocha squash, 1 onion ring, and one more piece which I think was a carrot.
Gyoza, again, nothing special but perfect to satisfy the craving!
Service- As usual, it was impeccable! They are still mostly on a reservation-only basis (so be sure to call ahead) but when you are there, they are attentive, kind, and helpful!
See you again soon!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0Aug 11, 2022Previous reviewIf you're looking for authentic Japanese food, THIS IS IT! Hanamizuki is a TWO PERSON run restaurant that embodies the essence of Japanese culture in the heart of Orlando! When we first arrived, the waitress asked if we had reservations and when we said we didn't, she quickly looked up reservations and said she could seat us at 1:10PM (it was 12:50). Confused because we saw open tables, we waited and promptly at 1:10 we were seated! There is an extensive menu of Japanese favorites that really hit the spot! Later, we learned that it was just the waitress and the chef in the kitchen that were working, which is why they strongly suggest reservations. I will also note that she did have to turn some people away as well. Our food came out piping hot and satisfied the Japanese food that I've been missing from traveling to Japan!

Want Japanese food? Like real traditional Japanese food. This is the place in Orlando. The family and I found this place a couple of years ago, and pretty much visited every day. We were in Daytona and did a day trip to Disney Springs to finish off with a nice dinner here for some comfort food. Glad to see they haven't changed and quality is the same. Service is always great. Ambience is Japanese-esque.

Back for another awesome experience with the Service and food of Meg and her family. The menu is truly totally unexpected; great variety and spectacular flavors. The background music and ambiance makes this place an oasis in International Drive. Great free parking

Hanamizuki is one of the best Japanese restaurants in Orlando. However, they have very short service hours and require a reservation. Be sure to do your research to ensure you can get it. Don't try to walk-in; they will not take walk-ins. Also, know that you're not getting an Asian chain restaurant - there are tons of items on the menu that are not "staples" around town. But, when you get them, prepare to be amazed.
If you follow my reviews, I'm a sucker for gyoza. This is one of the best gyoza's I have ever had. Tons of flavor, perfectly cooked, and inexpensive. Honestly, it checks every box, and will be on my table during the next visit too.
I also found both noodle dishes to be perfectly executed. The flavors were forward, but not overwhelming and the noodles were very good. Nothing was on the verge of too chewy or lacking flavor.
I can't wait to go back and try more.Helpful 2Thanks 1Love this 0Oh no 0 - May 11, 2023Updated review
Best authentic Japanese food in town !
On PTO, my husband and I decide to go to our favorite restaurant and enjoy nice lunch and relax! The waitress is very friendly and the food came to table fast. There are some Japanese tourists in the restaurant, so you know the food is good. Highly recommend you to try this place, reservation is recommended if you don't want to wait long time.
Today was a good lunch experience . We will definitely be back again soon.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Jan 12, 2022Previous reviewStill the best Japanese restaurant in town!!
I was taking a PTO and want to do something that bring me joy, I miss this place since I moved to different job location, I used to come here for lunch often where my job is close by . The owner lady is very friendly and the food is amazing. Their miso soup is home made and so tasty. Japanese Green tea is a wonderful to have on today's cold weather . I ordered the Gyu Don , it is so delicious!
Highly recommend this Authentic Japanese restaurant!!Feb 29, 2020Previous reviewHanamizuki is one of the best Japanese restaurants that we've ever been to.
It was a good experience for the kids.Their staff are very friendly and even though the service is a little slow , but the quality of the food is absolutely exquisite. If you ever come here , you should definitely to try the new Special Lunch: Beef udon noddle soup, it is only $10 and it was so delicious and the beef is so tasty and good soup. All the food on menu are also worthy to try and they are reasonable. Our family enjoy the ramen noodle and undon noodle soup very much. Also they have very good egg fried rice and only $7. They have open sushi bar and all handmade fresh . If you're ever in the mood for traditional and delicious food then Hanamizuki is the place you'll want to go to. Best Japanese restaurant in Orlando!! It is right next to the Eye Of Orlando plaza, we can't wait to go back soon!!Mar 18, 2019Previous reviewThe many times that we've had been to this restaurant we always had good service and the employees were very kind. Also the food is just exquisite since the restaurant was very busy so that meant the food was very exquisite

Came here because I was craving ramen. I got the gyoza and miso tonkotsu ramen. The service was great. The gyoza was very good. For the ramen, the broth had good flavor, but the noodles were off. The noodles had a weird taste. I would come back to try the other items on the menu.

Poor service!!! The waitress got my mother's order wrong and then restaurant would not refund my mother and instead made her order again and pay for the correct dish that she originally ordered AND PAY THE RESTAURANT FOR THE WRONG ORDER TOO. The waitress brought me warm water without any ice and I had to ask for ice cold water after watching the table over across from us get ice cold water without asking for it. Plus the restaurant's policy is to automatically add 18% gratuity despite the poor service AND the waitress gets more of a tip even though she doesn't deserve it because the restaurant would not remove the wrong order. Folks this restaurant doesn't have any integrity to do that to its customers. And NO the customers don't want an ice cream for free for the mix up. The customer wants to only pay for the correct order and receive the correct order. I WILL NEVER GO TO THIS RESTAURANT AGAIN I WAS SO OFFENDED!!! Don't say you were not warned about this sad service and restaurant. It's so cheap it needs to do that to a customer instead of correcting its mistake.
