I have loved this place for a while now but after my holiday boarding experience with them I had to come and give a review.

My cat, primrose, needed to board for our trip away. She is a bit of an anxious cat and has been having stomach issues for a bit now that were not yet resolved. I let the team know and they were super receptive. Not only did they give me the regular daily (adorable) updates about Prim but I got texts and calls regularly when something was off with her stomach to find out how I would like them to proceed. When she stopped eating Amanda even went out of her way to bring food from her 3 cat home to give to Prim. I even got a follow-up text the day after I brought her home to see if she was doing okay and when I brought her in for grooming last week everyone wanted to know how she was doing!

I was so anxious about her while a plane ride away but I know now there is, without a doubt, no better place for her when I am gone. Thank you SO much to the amazing team at this place - especially Leanne and Amanda from this round - for taking such sweet care of my cat and making sure she was in loving, attentive hands. They are worth every penny.

TIP: If you think you will need to board, book early! You do risk losing your deposit as it's non-refundable, but if you're planning to use them regularly you can just apply it to your next visit if you cancel within 7 days of the reservation (and they are understanding if a true emergency happens, too).

Finally - yo couldn't find a cuter place. Instead of crates and cages, each cat is in a different themed room with full window doors, things all around the room to lay and climb, windows to see cats in the rooms next to them, and more. They even do cat tv time with bird videos on the tablet! Prim loved it!

My only hesitation in reviewing is increasing competition for slots! :)

Purrrrfect experience every time. The Happy Cat Hotel has spacious themed rooms for cats to stay while their owners are away. Some rooms are large enough to host multiple cats for those owners who want their kitties to share a room. The staff are delightful and take excellent care of
my kitty every time. You get daily photos of your cat and can also pay to see a live video stream of your cat's hotel room so you can check on them. The rooms come with multiple beds and perches of a variety of heights, toys, water fountain, litter box, and food dish. Owners supply their own food. The hotel offers an upgrade for World's Best Litter, which is really nice. You can also pay for spa treatment while you are there. They also offer separate spa services for cats who are not overnight guests. Book way in advance (like 2 months if you can) because they do get booked up, particularly around holidays and in the summer. It is pricey... like $65/day on average but well worth it for the premium treatment for your kitty. I never feel guilty dropping my cat off here when I'm out of town.

It was my kitties' first experience of not being in our home or with my mom, their granhumom and the team did an amazing job helping my boys to settle in and keeping me posted on their overall wellbeing and interactions. The camera in the room and daily report with pictures of my little floof family made it possible for me to enjoy my first real vacation in years. I am incredibly grateful for the team and felt my boys were safe and cared for in my absence. I am so grateful for this team and their warmth and care for the kitties who come visit. Everyone I met was just incredible and warm and really seem to care.

Just cannot say enough about this amazing place! Ended up here when my outstanding vet boarding service wasn't able to accommodate our Teddy. Lucky lucky us to discover this amazing place! In the past i have been reluctant to board any cat - well, because as many know cats don't like change - but then I had an outstanding experience with NOVA Cat Clinic - and then just the very best experience here.

Have boarded our Teddy many times and have used the grooming service too. Jackie is the very best...and Leanne and their welcoming and attentive staff just make it the memorable experience that you would want for your loved animal. Teddy tells me that it is his favorite place outside of his home; think he is just telling me that. He loves being at Happy Cat Hotel and Spa.

You will not be disappointed. This place is purrfect for your cat. Try it and try to deny that it is not the very best! Love love love that we have found nirvana for Teddy!

This place is purrfect for cats! It's clean, safe, quiet, and stimulating for cats! My super fluffy 10 year old Persian cat got a complete plush trim groom - Jackie and her grooming team did an amazing job! Almost a week later and he still smells great and nails are neatly trimmed and he looks so handsome with his fresh haircut. Only one cat is groomed at a time so it was done promptly and when we picked him up he was relaxed and at ease. The boarding rooms are all themed and we've booked an upcoming week stay when we will be out of town. We have had some horrible experiences with other groomers- who say they can groom cats but most definitely cannot, so finding Happy Cat hotel and spa made both my kitty and me very happy indeed!

I recently adopted two brothers months ago and have spend everyday with them since I got them (~9 months). Leaving them was scary, I even cried at drop off (so embarrassing). Leanne was soooo sweet and assuring about how well they will be taken care of.
My boys are on special diets, which they accommodated without any issues (they also have to be separated to feed).
I got tons of detailed updates about every little thing they were doing and feeling. With tons of pictures attached!
I paid extra for the live feed as I was on a cruise and unsure of when I would be able to receive the updates, and being able to check on them whenever I could was amazing!
I would 100% leave my cats with them again without a single doubt. They came home happy, healthy, and of course ready to keep playing!

All of the staff treated my boys like their own, it is hard to find someone/ an establishment that puts this much time, care, and love into their kitty clients.
If you ever need to leave your cat for any reason this is the only place I would recommend to any cat owner.

The establishment is so clean. All of the rooms have their own theme, it is something your cat will appreciate forever.

Love this place for cat boarding! Staff is so friendly and I love, love, love how cats have their own spacious room, a window to look into the adjacent room, and a webcam! They provide water and pine litter as well! I refuse to have my cat stay in a cage or what they call a cat condo in some boarding places. I drive from Ashburn to Alexandria just for my cat to stay at a 5-star cat hotel :). Only the best for my little fur baby!

If you're on the fence about getting your cat groomed, or don't know who to go to, come here and ask for Jackie asap!!

This review is about Jackie, a groomer who works at this location. I've only gone to her twice so far but already have a future appointment booked and will be continuing to return on a regular basis for the foreseeable future - whether for my current kitty or any others I have that might need grooming after she passes.

My senior recue cat, Pigeon (don't ask lol), is one of the most affectionate cats I've ever homed. She's one of those "dog stuck in a cat's body" cats EXCEPT when you try to groom/handle her in any way. Nail trims, ear cleanings, meds...forget it, you'll bleed. She does loves to be brushed on her back only, but that's it. She's never been good at grooming herself in general (rescued her off the street at age 8ish, about 5 years ago), and now that she's older and has some health issues, she's even worse at it.

I finally decided to take her to a professional groomer. Jackie was the first and only cat groomer I've used so far. I asked her for a bath and to make the cut as short as possible, a lion-cut basically, and NOT to worry about the aesthetic if Pigeon was fighting her too much. This was about making Pigeon comfortable, clean and mat-free for as long as possible. I don't care what she looks like, as long as she's happy. I also didn't want to cause any unnecessary stress for Jackie (I knew Pigeon would be regardless). So we booked a full package to include nails, etc., and anything else Jackie thought she needed after the fact, if there was anything. We left it up to her basically.

Our vet prescribed Gabapentin to administer about an hour beforehand and at the first appointment, we got to chat with Jackie for a few minutes before leaving and hoping for the best. She was nice to talk to and really seemed to love what she does. She clearly understands cats at a Jackson-Galaxy-Level . Her confidence also helped us feel more at ease.

It only took a little over an hour I think and Pigeon looked great!! Apparently she fought like hell, drugged up and all, but Jackie was able to make her look more than just decent. It really changed Pigeon's quality of life btw. No more hairballs, mats and itchy, greasy skin/fur.

What really amazed me was our second visit. According to Jackie, Pigeon didn't freak out much and I noticed that she seemed a lot calmer when we took her home. It gives me hope that the more we go, the more comfortable she'll get with the whole ordeal. She obviously knows that when she goes to this place, she feels great afterwards. It also makes me happy to know that Jackie did right by her by making sure she finished quickly and as smoothly as possible. I'm sure if she mishandled her in any way, Pigeon would've fought even harder the second time, but as I've said already - it was the just opposite.

Anyways, forgive me for rambling, but this review is long overdue and I wanted to share just how much I appreciate Jackie and the work she does. It's too the point where, god forbid, if she ever leaves to work somewhere else (hopefully, still in the DMV area), I'm following her. Even if I had to drive over an hour to get Pigeon groomed by her, I would! That's how good she is.

Side note - the hotel side of this place seems great!! If I ever need to bored either one of my two cats, I will come here. We saw all the rooms, out of curiosity, and everything was clean and spacious. Every cat there seemed content, and the entire place had a very calming atmosphere overall.
