BEST BAKED POTATO!!
It's small shop, I didn't even know it was there. Ordered a baked potato and let me tell you, it was MASSIVE!!! It was late, so of course the people were ready to go, but they gave great and quick service. Honestly can't wait to go back!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Brittny B.Dallas, TX1332410Aug 14, 2023
Yuck! Everything was yuck!
I ordered 2 meals, 1. chicken fried steak with pinto beans and mashed potatoes & 2. ribs with beans/rice and yams. Not one thing on that plate tasted like it should. If felt like 7 day leftovers. Chicken fried steak definitely wasn't steak and neither it or the potatoes came with any gravy. Mashed potatoes were so freaking dry. The beans/rice had a entire vat of salt in them, inedible. The ribs were both rubbery and dry..make is make sense please. And their bbq sauce is beyond watery. Nothing tasted fresh and it was such a waste of $50. This was my second try with them. Never again!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Devin F.Dallas, TX0171Jul 23, 2023
EASY Sunday choice. The everything baked potato with brisket enough for 2! The veggies plate great portions. Definitely grab a order of sliced brisket! Everything is wonderful. BBQ shouldn't need a sauce and this one does not. This small business needs love and more attention. Thank you for the food!

Ventured out past the two barbecue joints I usually eat in Dallas, and Hardeman's did not disappoint! Got the family meal (excellent portion sizes) with the following:
Rack of Ribs: Fell off the bone, little cartilage, and good char, though they were a little salty. The sweet barbecue sauce was an excellent balance.
Potato Salad: Mashed, mustardy, with a nice hint of paprika.
Greens: Y'all. I miss greens, and these brown-sugar soaked greens hit the spot.
Fried Okra: Hit the spot. Added a cayenne mayo I like to make to take them to the next level.
Baked Beans: I like mine a little more savory, but these were very nice in the sweet variety especially since they weren't overly sweet.
Finished it off with pecan pie, and it was classic, no frills, like my Great Granny used to make.
Give them a shot if you're around. Plus, they deliver through a few different services!
Update: I FORGOT ABOUT THE TURKEY LEG!!! How could I forget about the turkey leg? It didn't fall off the bone, but it's chew was perfect with its smokiness and the white bread I put it on.
P.S. Saw some negative reviews about customer service, and all I can say to that is that they literally called me because they were worried that my delivery driver wasn't going to show up, and they wanted to make sure I got my food, so I give them an A for customer service.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Angeles H.Dallas, TX05Jun 2, 2022

This is by far the worst "bbq" I've ever had. It's not smoked and cooked in the over then drenched in bbq sauce. The meat isn't even tender the way bbq should be. I had the sliced brisket plate and the sides were decent but the meat was absolutely awful and when it was delivered the gallon of bbq sauce that was dumped in the take out dish was also poured all over the sides. I suggest avoiding this place.

I placed a rather large order with this restaurant the other day. I was pleased with some items, others not so much. Here is the breakdown:
Turkey leg-smoked to perfection and juicy. Absolutely a MUST HAVE if you are eating here.
Baked Potato with everything and sausage- The potato was HUGE, in fact too big. I think you could probably get three meals out of one potato. The only down side was that not only did it come with sausage, cheese, bacon bits and sour cream, but they put some of their bbq sauce on it as well. I don't like sauce added to my food, I like it on the side so I can add it if need be.
RIbs- Such a disappointment. For one, they were drowning in sauce. Second, no smoke flavor, at all. They really seemed like someone broiled them first, honestly. They looked pretty but had no taste other than sauce. I will not order these again.
Fried pork chops- Another must have. Fried to perfection, nice crunch crust and they come with fries, bread and pickles. Delicious!! Would definitely order again and again.
Lemon cake and chocolate cake- Both were probably a few days away from bring fresh. Both tasted ok, nothing special. Probably would not order again unless absolutely fresh.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - HaveUBeenHere H.Dallas, TX151235Sep 3, 2018
First let me begin with LORD. LORD. LORD this place has to be the BEST soul food I've EVER eaten. My family stopped by here after church today and the staff was so friendly and welcoming. They had a huge selection of meats and veggies. Stuffed Bell Peppers, Oxtails, Smothered Pork Chops, Stuffed Potatoes, yams, greens, cabbage and macaroni & cheese. They also have a great selection of desserts--pies and cakes. OMG!!! Everything we had was perfectly cooked without being all greasy and salty. I ordered the Stuffed Bell Pepper with Mac & Cheese and Greens. Talk about mouth watering...I tried to take small bites so I could have some for later but it was so delicious I ate it all. My husband had the Oxtails with rice and he loved them so much he had to go get the cook (Ms. Sarah Watson) to personally THANK HER for creating such a masterpiece. Literally cooked to perfection. Ms. Sarah's father -- Mr. Chester Hardeman opened Hardeman's BBQ in 1943 and the 3rd Generation is definitely in full affect, carrying on the family legacy of AMAZINGLY delicious food.
If you want some delicious down home soul food and you don't mind driving down to Scyene Rd then you definitely MUST stop by. Grab you a lunch dish they're $7.77 for a entree and two sides. Tell the beautiful ladies Tanja sent you from HaveUBeenHere.comHelpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
