DANGER: Harold Farber only wants your money; he does NOT care about you in my experience. He will leave horrendous scars all over your body from unnecessary biopsies and other procedures just so he can collect his outrageously high fees.
Farber will require you to make multiple unnecessary office visits so that he can repeatedly collect his sky-high office visit fees. And he will try to sell you grossly overpriced creams and other products that do nothing in my experience, other than irritate, swell, and redden your skin.
Notice that Farber has a two star rating on Yelp, where it is difficult (but not impossible) to post fake five star reviews. Yet, he has nearly a five star rating on other review sites that seem to only remove honest one star reviews while they simultaneously refuse to remove questionable five star reviews that look more like paid advertisements than honest reviews (gee, I wonder why!).
And notice that almost all of the five stars reviews on all sites have the same grammatical errors and heap the same phony praise, which suggests that they were written by the same person, LOL.
Note that there are three reputable dermatologists within driving distance. Unless you want to permanently mutilate other your skin, endure intense pain, waste many hours waiting for unneeded appointments, and unnecessarily waste thousands of dollars, go to one of those reputable doctors instead of Harold Farber.
NOTE TO YELP: I am a REAL ex-patient of Harold Farber's, so please do not remove this honest review and thus silence the truth. I am just trying to help other real consumers.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Alexandra N.Philadelphia, PA13311Apr 15, 2023
The best of the best!! I've been looking for a top notch dermatologist for a while since my former dermatology retired. I finally found him! He has the best bedside manner and he is an artist with what he does. Thanks so much!!

Dr farber has been a great dermatologist for my father in recent years. He has always been accommodating with my fathers needs and has helped immensely with his psoriasis.

he is a crook; he took 4 biopsy's and right away i knew something was wrong, i asked him to check my legs and he told me that we will get them the next time. after leaving the examination room i get to the front desk and 2 more appointments are set up for me. you do not need 3 visits for a skin cancer screening. i cancel the next 2 appointments. i see another skin doctor and he tells me that everything was fine and there was no reason for any biopsys. i called my insurance provider and they did nothing! somebody must find a way for doctor farber to lose his right to practise his profession!

Yeah don't go here. Removed a growth. Had me wait 2 weeks for results. Called for them, he did not give them. He insisted I needed a follow up. I went. He said it was fine and told me to leave after receiving a second copay. It also left a large scar. I went in with 2 nipples and now it looks like I have three. He offered for me to come back and have an additional procedure to fix the scar. Why it wasn't just don't right the first time feels intentional.
When I called for my records to be released, they made the process difficult, I believe intentionally. 160 dollars later I have three nipples. They added one..Helpful 1Thanks 1Love this 0Oh no 1 - Kelly C.SoMa, San Francisco, CA92Aug 31, 2022

I went to this doctor for a procedure around April... The day of my appointment the receptionist told me that they would not be taking my insurance so I agreed to pay out-of-pocket. Before agreeing to pay I asked her an estimate around how much my procedure would be. Once the doctor saw me he said I would be paying almost double what the receptionist initially told me because I needed to get extra test done.. it is now September and I have received three bills from a dermatology center charging me for my lab test. The doctor told me that I would be paying so much extra because I would be paying for the lab test so I don't understand why I'm getting billed. On top of that no one from the office ever contacted me with my results.

I had a total of 3 visits. The first 2 were for mole removals, the third one was for a follow up to make sure they were healing correctly. Each visit I had to wait between 45mins-1 hour After my appointment time (arrived on time all 3 times).
I would not recommend to go to your follow up appointment if you're mole incisions are healing normally. I went back, waited a while, stepped Into the office, pulled up my sleeves, he looked at my arms and said they were healing fine. The visit itself was a total of possibly 15 seconds. I received a bill. The office visit was $125. After insurance it came out to $75 but regardless $75/$125 was not work the hour wait and 15 second visit.
I made the mistake of going so save your self your time and money!!
As for the mole removals, there is a small piece of mole still left on both my nose and ear while the two on my arms did scar (which I was warned about and signed an acknowledgment/release)
Side note, I def agree with the other reviews that he cares about making money off unnecessary biopsies and unnecessary visits.Helpful 4Thanks 1Love this 1Oh no 0 - Annie M.West Chester, PA26851Feb 1, 2019
STAY AWAY!!! I would give less than 1 star if possible. I went to this doctor with a skin rash which he biopsied. When I returned to go over the results he couldn't even tell me what I had, but told me to buy two expensive creams to get rid of it. While I was there, he decided to biopsy two moles on my back. He also tried to force me to undergo a facial procedure for the very small amount of acne I had, which I refused. A week later, I get a letter saying that my biopsy was abnormal and that it's very important I return to his office for them to remove more. This letter made me freak out considering I have two family members with skin cancer. So.. I called his office and asked them to fax me the lab results.
Long story short, I reported to a new dermatologist with the lab results. She couldn't even find what he was talking about and told me that there is nothing wrong w my skin - they are freckles.
This man is absolutely horrible. He doesn't care for his patients and has no bedside manner. All he wants to do is take biopsies and prescribe expensive creams. I'm disgusted that someone like this is allowed to continue his practice.Helpful 6Thanks 1Love this 1Oh no 0
