This place is worth the drive, no matter what part of MN you are coming from. Do yourself a favor and plan your trip on a day when you can take your time and wander. The pics posted are definitely NOT the most interesting things you will see here, there are so many wonderful surprises everywhere you look. It's nostalgic and whimsical.

Amazing place!
Owners are SO nice. Place is super unique and definitely a place you should stop. There is a charge for taking photos, but its worth it. They need some old carnival rides ;)! Seriously though, awesome!!!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Wade F.Shakopee, MN06Oct 24, 2011First to Review
Hot Sam's is a really cool place on the East side of I-35 in Lakeville. If you've driven past where there's a submarine and large guitar on the tide of the road (along with many other things), that's the place. They have a large amount of wooded land that has unending stuff to look at and buy.
My family went to Hot Sam's with a friend who is a photographer. They allowed us to walk around on the property and take pictures using their cars, planes and other older items as props and backgrounds. The kids even walked after the chickens and chicks for a while. It was a really fun place.
If you love older things, or if you're renovating a home and want some older elements to add or decorate with (ex. they had an old mantel that looked amazing), I'd highly recommend going and looking around. It's a place you can spend a couple of hours, and to get the full experience I'd suggest doing so.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Guy M.Seattle, WA1441May 20, 2019
Hot Sam's has to be the coolest place south of the art-ic! Very cool stuff and a fun visit on a warm sunny day. I can't wait to go back and be in the company of such fun people. It may be quirky and weird stuff but all fun and worth the drive.

When we first drove in we were not sure what to think. There is a ton of weathered antiques and oddities along the driveway and no one in sight. We approached a large building and decided to venture in. We were intrigued by the hunt and although most of the items for sale were complete junk comparing to other antiques store items; these are weathered, broken, rusted, etc. There are no prices marked and we were encouraged to make offers and told they are very negotiable. But that was not the case. We found something we liked, we made an offer and a man who worked there said it costs 3x the price we offered, then picked up the item and went to go put it back. Not even giving us the opportunity to negotiate. It was rude and ruined the whole experience.

All I can say is "Wow!" If Andy Warhol had an amusement park, this would be it!! Perfect collection of eclectic sculpture/pop culture art and antiques. Great prices on antiques and the nicest owners!!! You won't be disappointed!!

What a wonderfully eclectic place! A little bit of everything... Tons of antiques, collectibles, and even some of the absurd. If you have time, you have to check this place out. And extremely friendly!

Hot Sam's is always fun to explore. Our kids love to climb on all the large-scale oddities, see the chickens and find new things. Very friendly and welcoming owners.

This is a really fun place to visit on a clear day (very muddy on a rainy day!). Quirky stuff. You never know what you will find here. When I walked into the back building that housed some pretty weird stuff, some lovely Classical music was playing. This would be dynamite for an evening Halloween walk....if they ever stay open past 5 p.m. Very kind people. We saw a wooden statue that we wanted, but the price was a little high for us. We were able to negotiate a price that was good for everyone. This place is definitely off the beaten path. Fun!! There's a very sweet dog named Alley Oop that hangs out there. Very friendly little fella...
