I'm from California where there's boba on every block so I was eager to get my boba fix and try North Carolina boba. I got the large jasmine green milk tea 50% ice and 25% sugar ($4.50) and the Reeces rolled ice cream topped with coconut, almonds, chocolate chips, Nutella drizzle, pocky, and boba ($6) They fit my specifications and I love that there's free unlimited toppings (some places are chinsy with toppings).
I showed the owner a picture of the boba drink I wanted (assam black milk tea with a brown sugar drizzle on the sides and boba) but later decided against it, however; after I was finished paying, the owner brought a large version out anyway on the house! I was so stunned and amazed by the customer service.
As for the drinks, the jasmine green milk tea was good and light and the Assam black milk tea had that deeper earthier flavor. It just depends on what you like. I wasn't a fan that there were large jugs with the different tea sitting in them. They were on a high shelf so I'm assuming they only get made and replaced once a day which somewhat worries me.
The boba was squishy but since it wasn't honey boba it wasn't too sweet which I was sad about (but some places don't serve honey boba). The rolled ice cream could have been a little larger portion but all the toppings and mix in flavors were very sweet. I liked the environment with all the post it note decorations customers could write.
All in all, it was nice that the owners paid attention to what I was interested in but the boba was alright. Great for a boba fix though!Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0Business owner information

Hi! Thank you so much for your feedback we really appreciate it! As for the tea situation, don’t worry! Approximately, we have to make new tea every hour. Our tea runs out very easily!

I've been eager to try "rolled ice cream" because I love ice cream in all flavors, shapes, and forms. So, when we stumbled upon this place in Raleigh, I knew we had to stop.
Things to be aware of - it does take some time to whip up each concoction. We came on a Friday afternoon and there was only one person working - she was busting her tail, but it did take about 20 minutes for our two ice creams to come out. As long as you go in with that expectation, you should be fine. The other thing to be aware of is that the ingredients listed for each ice cream dish don't actually seem to get automatically included as toppings unless you explicitly ask for them at the end. Maybe they already had gotten chopped up and added into the ice cream base - we couldn't tell. But in either case, if you want something as a topping (even if it is listed as being part of the dish you order), be sure to request it at the end as an extra topping. The good thing is that each ice cream comes with unlimited free toppings - so get creative and go crazy!
The flavor and texture of the ice cream definitely reminds me of Coldstone Creamery (yes, I relate everything to a known suburban chain...), except that I believe most dishes here start with only a vanilla or a chocolate base. The lady who was preparing everything was definitely a pro - pretty cool to watch!
We didn't try the bubble tea, but the menu looked expansive. A few people in here did seem to have issues with incorrect drink orders, but I'll chalk that up to them being busy and a bit understaffed - the worker was quick to correct any problems.
At ~$6 per ice cream dish, it's not dirt cheap, but it is on par with what I would expect given the effort that goes into each creation. The rainbow post-it notes adorning the store walls were a fun touch too.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - 7602521444Jul 11, 2018First to Review
This was my first experience having rolled ice cream and it was a great one!! This awesome spot just opened up about a week ago. They have an extensive menu of different ice cream concoctions, as well as different bubble teas. My nephew and I ordered a Taro Milk Tea with tapioca and the Strawberry Shawty, which was vanilla ice cream mixed with fresh strawberries and graham crackers. We are both LOVING it!! The staff is super friendly and the store is clean. You also get to watch them roll out your ice cream. What a great experience!

Love the design of the interior of the place. The menu board is pretty awesome. Being a big fan of Milk Lab, I had very high expectations for this point and was a little disappointed with my experience here.
I got a honeydew bubble tea. It tasted very watered down. There was no tea flavor and they did not use enough powder. Bubbles were pretty good -- very chewy. I'm glad this drink wasn't super sugary but it tasted almost like water if we're being honest.
One great thing about this place is that they validate parking for the garage for an hour so you can enjoy the bubble tea/rolled ice cream experience without the crappy Hillsborough parking experience.
Since this place did open up recently, I'd love to give it another try after they work out some of their kinks.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Yadira S.Cary, NC051Sep 1, 2018
First time trying ICool, very friendly service, clean atmosphere & awesome inspirational wall which you can add to. Yummy treats did I mention! Definitely a place to try if you haven't already!
Husband & I will be back to try one thing at a time until completed menuHelpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Aaron T.Raleigh, NC55445Nov 23, 2018
I stopped by here while taking a walk down Hillsborough for a quick boba fix.
The interior is fairly minimalist, but spacious. I got the Taro milk tea with bubbles, and it was about average. It had a good taro flavor, but a lot of the bubbles were stuck together with strings of tapioca, which was very odd and slightly unsettling when I had to eat them.
I think I'll stick with Kung Fu Tea and Milk Lab for the time being, but really disappointed with the lack of good Asian food in downtown Raleigh.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0
