To start off I absolutely adore the store! So many unique finds and handmade jewelry. What's even cooler is the story behind clothing and the jewelry is always worth hearing! The owner Susan is so incredibly sweet and will help you find pieces you will fall in love with and not want to take off! I have several pieces of clothing from here and each time I wear them I'm stopped and asked where I got it from. I always send them here! So easy to shop out of state with her instagram and updates on new arrivals!

We're visiting family and were looking for something to do or a place to shop and I found this place! While the shop next door is lovely, this place really caters to my need for fun and funky and unique clothing. Susan, the shop owner, is conscientious about where she gets her clothing and all of it is very well made. Plus she has lots of cool vintage, new, and repurposed jewelry as well. I highly recommend a visit!

After scouring the internet looking for organic clothes that wouldn't agitate my multiple chemical sensitivities, I had resigned myself to the assumption I would end up in some boxy outfit looking like an outdated hippy. Imagine my surprise when I found this gem only 2 hours from Orlando that would provide numerous outfits that were incredibly stylish, 100 percent chemical free and in colors I love!!!
The owner Susan is wonderful and passionate about helping women stay healthy and stylish. She is also very particular about her sourcing and she cares deeply about human abuse and the environment.
She provided some of the best personalized service I've experienced honestly telling me what worked and didn't for me and bringing me other incredible pieces to try. I took 6 items home and my husband loved them all saying he was shocked they were so stylish and beautiful.
If you are learning like me that our biggest organ our skin is absorbing way too many chemicals and toxins from petroleum based fibers and other synthetics, then get your stylish bod in here!!!
I also can't wait to come back and find a gem in her jewelry collection but that's a future trip.

This little shop is tucked away next to a couple other small places and it can be a little difficult to spot it if you're driving along. I decided to pop in on a whim today.

The woman who owns the shop is wonderful. She's clearly very particular about what she carries - everything is either organic, eco-friendly, or sourced from independent designers (she said she carries pieces from approximately 12 Etsy vendors). Pretty much every piece of clothing was soft to the touch and there was a decent assortment of colors, textures, and garments. The only downside is it felt like she was really limited in terms of multiple sizes in some of her garments. I know indie shops like this can't carry everything and will obviously run out of certain sizes or colors first, but anyway. The other thing she carries a lot of is vintage costume jewelry. I pawed through her cases (and there are many!) and lusted over a few different things. And just for a heads up, almost everything I picked up in terms of jewelry was $50 or above. It seemed like Brooches started around that price point and necklaces started around $100 for the most part. Granted I'm sure there are pieces cheaper than that, but it would have taken hours to manhandle everything she has. This isn't a discount kind of a place; it's obvious she takes a lot of care in collecting pieces that don't have missing stones or damaged hardware, and aren't some corny theme (like some of the antique shops in the area with Christmas or 4th of July things that will never sell). She also has a pretty solid assortment of vintage purses and leather pocket belts (those have a bit of a Burning Man feel to them, if you know what I mean).

So, if you're not going to balk at the price of organic and independently made clothing and accessories, it's definitely worth checking this little shop out. If you have really nice vintage jewelry you're looking to get rid of, I'm sure she would be interested in taking a look at it based on some of the comments she made.

I was mesmerized the first time I walked into Illume by the eclectic displays of vintage jewelry. There are crystal necklaces hanging off chandeliers and candelabras, and hand decorated spools and boxes used to display some of the most incredible earrings you can imagine. From the fabulous to the whimsical, there are unique finds from every decade starting in the 1800's. It is a jewelry wonderland.

The owner, Susan Swander, is meticulous that the manufacturers of the new products she carries share her concern for the environment and compassionate manufacturing. She is continually sourcing trendy, fun clothing lines made from bamboo, hemp, organic cotton and other customized, sustainable fabrics. One of the coolest lines carried is Angel Rox...it is versatile and sexy, but also really comfortable, like most eco-friendly clothing.

While the clothing lines are fun, it's the jewelry collections that are so fascinating, especially Susan's custom made pieces made of jewelry sourced from all over the world. I just walk around the store in awe at the incredible pieces displayed everywhere.

I own a new and resale boutique so I see alot of cool jewelry and clothing, but nothing like the collections found at Illume. I refer my customers to Illume all the time to find great, one-of-a-kind treasures. I know first hand how much time and money it takes to find such rare jewelry, so don't expect great bargains; and rightfully so. Whjat you can expect is a fabulous shopping experience you'd have a hard time duplicating anywhere else in the world.

I love this shop. Beautiful original vintage jewelry. Susan also has some beautiful clothing. Everytime I want something different and unique I go to her shop. Been a customer for the last 5 years!

I almost never write a review of a business but I felt compelled to write about this hidden gem (literally) of a shop in Belleair. It's like a fantastic dream when you enter through the door! I've never in my life seen a shop bursting at the seams with the most beautifully curated vintage and handmade jewelry...and it gets better, Illume also carries a stunning collection of Eco conscious clothing, meaning clothing that is fair trade, organic and sustainable. Susan, the very friendly shop owner and jewelry artist is a plethora of knowledge about her clothing lines and jewelry and her passion is evident in every corner of this store. Not only an amazing shop, it is an amazing experience!
