J & M BBQ The Colony

The service was fast, the employees are very friendly, and the food truck gains a benefit from being inside truck yard in terms of ambiance.

However, the BBQ was one of the worst I've ever had in my life. It was absolutely so dry and overpriced. I almost became vegan on the spot. I needed to floss my teeth with the napkin I had afterwards because of how stringy the meat was.

I will say this was eaten towards the end of the night which may be the cause. However, that just means the food is not consistent throughout the day. Disappointing because the employees were so friendly!

1) Smoked Lobster grilled cheese - flavor ok; lobster texture was like rubber
2) Wings - so salty, we could not eat them; BNP shot up to 1000
3) Cuban sandwich - pretty good, I wouldn't go out of my way to get it but if I came back I would order again

I'm giving a 3 stars because I paid almost $60 for these 3 items: 2 were edible, the wings were way way too salty to eat, the Cubano was good

The BEST BBQ!!!! Everything on their menu is delicious. The Brisket melts in your mouth.....sooo good!

The brisket is the bomb. Had it on Saturday they were at the truckyard. The bbq sauce meant for the bread lived up to the name...liquid gold. I will definitely suggest they cater to us when our office opens back up.

The staff was very kind, welcoming, and helpful. I really wish the food was as good as the service. Unfortunately the food was just not good. The brisket just didn't taste like smoked beef brisket. The texture was good, but the flavor was just not that of smoked beef brisket. The mac & cheese was severely overcooked. The pasta was a super mushy texture that made it very unappealing. The green beans were also overcooked and oddly diced into a mushy mess. It wasn't so bad that I couldn't eat it, but it was bad enough that I didn't want to eat it.

Best Cubano brisket I have ever had! Not to mention okra and Mac and cheese .

The moment I tasted the jalepeno sausage and the sliced brisket can only be compared with my happiest moments in life, my first kiss, my wife accepting my proposal, my children being born, and landing my dream job. The Mac and Cheese was cheesy and delicious and left me longing to return to J&M, like the the days of my youth, there is no comparison. Their portions of food were larger than life, and matched the serving of their southern hospitality. I would highly suggest them for your next lunch, dinner, or catering. If you are a fan of dessert, the Banana pudding is a great way to cap off an memorable experience in Texas BBQ.

Place is trash. And so are the people that operate this roach coach. They will secretly add to the total once it posts to your account from the pending amount. Make sure you pay attention. The food wasn't the value of what they charge. I wouldn't waste money here.

Husband had been hearing about the Cubano sandwich and he finally had a chance to get it on Saturday. Husband was pleasantly surprised on how it was exceptionally made and the flavor was, let's say nothing short of amazing! We are picky when it comes to good ol' Texas BBQ, so I can honestly say that J&M BBQ is a must try!! My food was prepared nicely and flavor was on point-from my sandwich to my side (mac n cheese).
Jason, Melissa and staff are very professional, polite and friendly. We will be back!
