Jacks Creek Bar-Be-Que

Makes me think of my grandma who passed away. She loved this barbecue chicken and it make her happy to provide it for her family

My Grandad was born in North Carolina. I've still some got kin back there and after several trips I've fallen in love with the Carolinas. But I betray my Northern roots when it comes to BBQ. To me BBQ is an adjective not a noun. So when you offer it for sale my first thought is barbecued what?

Iguana?
St. Bernard?
Flamingo?

And if we agree that it'll be beef or pork the next thing I imagine is ribs. Crispy, meaty, somewhat fatty, ribs slathered in some delicious sauce. The thing I DO NOT imagine is a pile of only mildly flavored, shredded meat on top of the cheapest available, store bought bun. A bun that was in its plastic bag 30 seconds before my sandwich was served to me.

That's two ingredients. Two. And one of those came to me in exactly the condition in which it sat on a store shelf days ago. Not warmed or toasted or otherwise improved but just as bland and dull and it was when it was created. In that case ingredient number 2 better rock. It had better sing and shout and cartwheel around my mouth in leaps of joy. But in many places it does not.

Sadly this is one of those places.

I was hoping for little outpost of culinary joy. Instead I walked away disappointed.

I haven't been back here since 1979. I always wanted to come back. Best barbecue ever had. It's still up there and tops. Bought a motorcycle and came out of my way to eat here. On my way back to Orlando!

Doesn't look like much when you pass by, but when looking for barbecue this is the place to go! With homemade sauce and a price that's right, you can't beat it! The food was cooked and prepared just right, and a few great options! The pulled pork was perfectly cooked and Not to dry! This a MUST if you are looking for a great local barbecue joint!

These ribs were fall off the bone good! Nice and tender, and the sauce was just sweet enough without being too sweet! Definitely make my top 5 best ribs!

Passing thru .... This place is awesome! Great bbq. Huge portions so bring your appetite. We will stop again.

Tennessee is full of great places to eat. This place holds its own. We had BBQ both ways with different slaw on each sandwich. Very good but I want to go back for the chicken. Heard they make some of the best chicken. Watch out Colonel

They no longer smoke the pork out back. The meat is tender but doesn't have the flavor that it used to have. Sad.

Chester county has the BEST bar-be-que in TN and this is the Best of
our county. I take this BBQ as I visit friends and family out of town. It is always a hit and consistently good. The staff is friendly and seeks to serve. The plates are very tasty with generous servings.

Great food at a great price. Some of the best BBQ ribs around. Voted 2nd place behind world famous Rendezvous BBQ in Memphis in 2015 in TN Home and Farm magazine. Jacks Creek BBQ sauce is the best I've tasted in 20+ states. Don't take the reviews of some so called BBQ experts seriously as I doubt they really know BBQ the way we do here in West Tennessee. You won't be disappointed. I noticed this place has 4.8 stars on FB and 4.5 stars on Trip Advisor as I write this review...check it out!!!
