Johnson's Pro Pool Care

Sadly my nearly 2 year experience with Dawn & Michael Johnsons Pro is not like these stellar reviews. They started out as this nice husband wife team who took over for my prior service when the sole proprietor and worker went AWOL. They even honored the super low price I'd been paying. Sadly they immediately began 'finding' problems left by the last Pool Service. My filter was broken - They sold me a used one for $700. My sweep wasn't any good - They sold me a used one for $315. But then every month the billed for repairs that were never authorized. They increased my monthly (2x month) fee 45% retroactively, no notice, just an invoice. I started watching what they did to service the pool. She would usually be here 5 - 10 minutes, partially open pool use a litmus test strip, maybe check the pool sweep and leave. No brushing - 'thats what your sweep does' Im told. One day Dawn says "this is my favorite pool'. Easy then to understand when she was here and gone in 3 minutes, didnt even open the pool. I say to myself, well she was on the phone maybe an emergency came up.

I return home from extended travel looking forward to using my pool for Labor Day weekend. I opened my pool to find an unsafe chlorine level, off the charts of my liquid drop tester. When I messaged them about this they said it was to treat algae. What algae???? Six (6) months later I've never added chlorine and it is still at 20ppm - still unsafe to use.

I was being billed $75 for 'specialy chemicals' for what I ask. They said it covers the spring opening chemicals needed and this is only 50% because you have a covered pool. Last Spring I was charged $150 for filter cleaning which based on what I saw today wasn't done.

My Solar system was suddenly not working less than a year after I'd hired them. Michael took the system apart and never got back to me. When I asked about it he said it'll be about $2000. Process doubled because of Covid. I checked for prices to replace the unit which was now had only parts remaining and it was about $500 - meaning he was charging me $1500 install. I had enough....I finally hired a new service.

New service started at a lower monthly rate, never any extras inn6 months. They repaired the solar system for $450 and only charge $115 to actually perform the filter cleaning.

Great service, responsive, and very thorough.
Michael and his team are terrific! Whenever we have an issue related to the pool, I know I can call Michael and get a quick response. He provides options, advice, and has even helped us resolve some small problems. The technicians are friendly, competent, and keep the pool looking great. Highly recommend!

Sounded good, a full service pool care company. Well pool was not brushed, ran low on chlorine and had to go buy and treat it myself, pH got out of range had to treat myself... wanted upcharge to add DE to filter. Not full service.

Got a
Chemical only company for 1/3 the price who comes weekly and had no issues. They also supply the DE for filter!

I guess you are upset with my previous review and I apologize as I reviewed the wrong Johnsons pools. I am sorry. Your response was kind and I think I may want you to do my pool service in the near future !

I've been meaning to write this and while looking at my pool earlier today and noticing how great it looks - I reminded myself that I needed to get this down on paper! My pool has NEVER looked better. I don't have to think about it anymore. It ALWAYS looks great. I have had a couple other companies in the past that maintained and never did the great job that Johnson's provides. It's sparking clean day after day regardless of weather. One less thing to worry about! Thank you!

This company is simply THE best! Mike is extremely fastidious in his work & a joy to be around. Our pool has never looked so good since he & his team took over the job. Highly recommended!!

We've been in our home for 18 years and we've used Johnson pools for about 15 of those years. That should tell you plenty. They're very satisfactory and reliable. So we recommend them to anyone.

I haven't really done much with yelp, but Johnsons pool service reached out to me, and I felt compelled to write a review. With Owner/operator type companies you always get expert dealings. That's undoubtably the case with Mike when it comes to the health of your pool. Even though it's a little more cost I actually like that he won't let you buy supplies or parts, because he's more concerned with what's good for the pool than most customers are. He knows that saving a buck today might actually cost $1,000 tomorrow. Sometimes we need to be saved from ourselves. It's just good knowing that the owner of the business is the one making those visits into your yard. He's also very courteous of special needs, unlike some of the other guys. So good, In fact, that sometimes you wonder if he even was there; except the pool is always sparkling! Thanks for always providing me piece of mind.

They are owner operated and do a nice job. I would recommend them for people looking for pool service in Sonoma county.

My Goodness!! Mike Johnson you are the man! Let me tell you yelp. Out of all the pool companies in the Rohnert Park area this guy is the best! Mike is super personable and always has an answer to my questions. I've had old equipment, he upgraded me and my pool looks flawless!!! Thanks for getting me the variable speed pump! Even though it's a little bit more expensive than the single speed, my pool practically cleans itself and I barely see a charge on my electric bill!!!! Thanks MIKE!
