Jonny's Towing & Recovery

I own a trucking company in Las Vegas. 2 trucks, 2 trailers. My truck wouldn't start. I was at a Loves just south of Rockford, IL. I needed a jump. I called them and told them that, assuming they would send out a repair truck. They sent out this giant flashy tow truck that ended up costing me $946 for a 2 min jump! Outrageous! It never entered my my that they would use a canon to swat a fly. Take the bypass on these scammers.

Called at 11:02 on a Tuesday , needed a tow , stuck on expressway, told driver I was with a three year old. Was assured they would be out ASAP ! At 12:30 called again and was told that they were stuck in traffic but were 15 minutes away . Waited and waited with a 3 year old ! Called again and was told the driver would call , waited and waited ! At 3:15 driver finally called and said he was 30-40 minutes away !!! I now had a crying wet ( cause he peed himself) 3 year old ! Finally after 4 hours a truck came , driver said he wasn't even called til 2:30 ( that's 3 1/2 hours after I called ). The person acted like I was the problem!
Worst part was when the tow truck came I went in back with my car seat and they had no working seat belts ! So
I had to make the choice of getting in car or being left on the side of the road !!!! I called to speak to a manager or owner and was never called back !

I wish I read the reviews before I called these rip off artists. i was contemplating throwing some regular road service business to them but they showed me on the first call that would not only be a poor decision but also very expensive one. All they did was help my driver get the lift gate raised and chained up a total of 20 minutes and I understand there is travel time, but to charge us over $1000.00 is pure and simply a rip off and highway robbery. Their competitor who I use normally would not have been over $300.00. If I was able to give negative stars, I would.

Scammers. They pulled the bait and switch when I asked for a quote. The initial quote was $195. Then when we approached my house they called to say it'll be over $800 because it's actually $195/hour and they are billing me for 4 hours. Complete bs. They never said they billed hourly and the initial quote was just $195. And it definitely didn't take a total of 4 hours. Maybe 2.5 hrs total and that's rounding up.

Horrible service! I called at 915 pm with my car needing to be towed because the alternator crapped out. I had my 3 year old daughter with me and was already stressed out. I asked for a tow and the lady on the phone told me that all the drivers were home for the night. Why does the website say 24/7 towing then! Horrible service! I called clifford towing and they did an excellent job!!! Call cliffords towing instead!

Nice driver, dishonest company. The ad for them said 2.2 miles away and hookup from $65. I needed a 3 mile tow so I expected about $100 bill - which would have been similar to what I paid for an 8 mile tow a few month's earlier from another company.
I even mentioned to the operator "hey, it looks like you're 2 miles from me so this should be easy"...... nope. 90 minutes later they hook me up and after a 3 mile tow I got a $200+ bill "because it wasn't a local tow". Never again.

They lie the receptionist told me she can repair my truck on site when they got there they couldn't repair it and they charge me $700 for nothing when I could've just had it towed

How the hell is Johnny's still in business?
It is criminal what they do to people. My son called for a tow, was told 1-3 hours. 7 hours later he calls to cancel the tow, Rick who answered the phone told him "good luck". We called another company. 30 minutes later the new company was there but Johnny's high-tailed their asses over there & hooked the car. We called the sheriff's office to get involved there was no way in hell I was paying $350 for a 4 mile tow!!! Still wound up giving them $195 but I made Jon's fatass drive down to my house & face the cops. Their ad states tows start at 65, how fuck does a 4 mile tow cost 350!! God have mercy on anyone who calls this thieving criminal

Just had one of our cars towed today by them and they overcharged us! Then we called them and asked how much it would cost to pick up a Ford edge in Schaumburg and bring it about 7 miles. The guy on the phone said it would cost $125. Then we asked why we were just charged $280 when you just started it would cost $125. The guy was stumbling with his words and put is on hold. He came back saying well our base price for towing is $195. Then why did you just say it would of cost us $125 to tow our car 7 miles. The guy just kept going in circles. This place is a complete SCAM!! DO NOT USE THEM!!!! THEY ARE CROOKS!!!!

This company is the same as Priority Wrecker Service. We found out way too late. Save yourself the time & trouble. Go with someone else. We were told they would be out right away as they were right down the street. After 3 hrs and 4 phone calls, we called Johnny's. Another 2 hrs went by and more phone calls, we found out they were the same company. They said they were at such a place and then they weren't there, they said they had to get gas. When we told them, he should have told us another 45 min went by and still nothing. We could have been to that gas station there & back at least 7 times. The driver then wouldn't answer his phone. They said 2 blocks away, no one even there. We called them on their scam and they said they were canceling. Thank goodness for the 3rd company we called. Be very cautious. Definitely don't give them any CC info ahead of time.
