I had the pleasure of seeing Dr. Joseph Sciabbarrasi MD, the first time over 8-9 years ago and was extremely impressed with his expertise, kindness, and overall approach to healthcare. As someone who has struggled with various health issues for years, I have seen many doctors and healthcare providers, but Dr. Joseph Sciabbarrasi MD, stands out as one of the best.
From the moment I arrived at his office, I felt welcomed and cared for. The staff were friendly and efficient, and I didn't have to wait long to be seen. When Dr. Joseph Sciabbarrasi, MD in to see me, he took the time to really listen to my concerns and ask questions to better understand my situation. He didn't rush me or dismiss my concerns, but instead validated my experiences and offered thoughtful insights.
What I appreciated most about Dr. Joseph Sciabbarrasi, MD was his integrative approach to medicine. He didn't just focus on treating my symptoms with medication, but instead took a more holistic approach that looked at my whole health and lifestyle. He recommended a combination of traditional medical treatments and complementary therapies like nutrition, exercise, and mindfulness to help me feel my best.
Throughout my appointment, Dr Joseph Sciabbarrasi, MD was patient, attentive, and knowledgeable. He answered all of my questions and made sure I felt comfortable with the treatment plan before I left. I left feeling empowered and supported, knowing that I had a healthcare provider who truly cared about my well-being.
Overall, I highly recommend Dr. Joseph Sciabbarrasi, MD anyone looking for an integrative medical doctor who is compassionate, knowledgeable, and committed to helping her patients achieve optimal health. He truly embodies the best of both worlds when it comes to traditional and alternative medicine, and I feel lucky to have found him!Helpful 1Thanks 1Love this 0Oh no 0 - Terri M.Tucson, AZ05May 2, 2023
He saved my life! He is a legitimate Lyme literate doc. I don't know if he's retired but I am very grateful that I was in LA when I got super sick. He is well versed in the diagnosis and treatment of Lyme. I didn't realize I had it but again he saved my life.

I'm updating the review to help people who think they have Lyme and not to hurt the dr but I feel it's really not fair to scam people.
Finally after years of not feeling well and for dr joseph to really play me with IgeneX which I learned from at least four drs that I should not trust these results. My true health problem was GI and not Lyme at all. My life is back to 100% normal with simple food to avoid as allergy and some GI issues that the my GI dr fixed without the crazy bills and the scare of Lyme. It's so sad how people take advantage of you when you are sick and you are seeking them for help.
If you think you have Lyme please go visit dr Ellie Goldstein in Santa Monica. He will run a proper lab tests and lead you to the right pathHelpful 10Thanks 2Love this 2Oh no 2Business owner information

It's important to know that Igenex has been vetted by the Centers for Disease Control as well as New York State for testing - the two highest standards for testing in this country.
Any patient not doing well is of great concern to us, and we hope the individual who left this review will reach out to us privately to discuss their situation in detail. While the vast majority of Lyme patients we see do improve and are able to lead much fuller and functional lives, Lyme is often a very difficult disease to treat.Aug 28, 2019Previous reviewIf I can give a 0 star that will be my choice, 8 month treatment for lyme $15000 spend 0 improvement. Don't waist your money this office is all about nickle and dime. They even refused to give me a prescription for my meds so I buy it from their office total scam

Their front desk help is a mess. From what I can understand they are only open Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. The receptionist didn't know anything and kept putting me on hold to get a form.

It's pretty rare that I have to place a low rating. In this case, I feel it's warranted.
When you call a place like this, most of the time it's because your health is at stake and you need to see the doctor. With all the stress this is giving the last thing you need to deal with is someone's ego and pride. Amber the office manager (or so she claimed) is not only rude, but if you don't instantly drop your concerns about your own health and address her like a queen, she'll DEFINITELY make sure to give you issues. Why support a place where the staff itself is a problem? Los Angeles is a HUGE PLACE with MANY options. Don't let locations or time be the excuse to go here. If the doctor has decent marketing or business sense he'd subtract this nuisance from the staff.
Either way, don't punish yourself, do your due diligence and find another place.Helpful 6Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

I'm sorry that (Antoine) had such a bad experience. We routinely get excellent comments and reviews on the office staff. I believe this was an aberration and certainly not a standard that we follow in our care for patients.

Dr. Sciabbarrasi and his team are absolutely fabulous! From the moment I walked in I felt heard, cared for and validated. Dr. Sciabbarrasi spent time with me answering all my questions and I never felt rushed. All the staff were friendly and positive. As a doctor myself, I can tell this is a happy working environment. I would give him 10 stars!

I saw this doctor for 3 visits or so for chronic Lyme. I don't like the fact that he didn't review any of my history/notes prior to the visit and he had to read everything at his pace with the literal stopwatch his front desk turns on running when you go in his office. He is a nice man and not rushed. I felt the physical that was needed was just for show as my regular PCP physicals are more in depth. He did end up doing me a favor and I respect him for that. For the service, expertise and appointment style I believe the initial consult hourly rate is several hundred dollars too high.

I started seeing Dr Sciabbarasi in April of 2019 when I was found out I had subclinical-hypothyrodism. I had done a bit of research to understand everything about the thyroid, treatment etc and realized seeing a holistic doctor was going to be needed to fully address my issues. When you research Holistic Doctors, unfortunately they aren't covered under insurance, so no matter what you have to pony up the money and "cross fingers" that your insurance will cover it. Which, they don't. So just be prepared. But other than that, I will say that Dr Sciabbarasi and his team are amazing and caring.
Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0Oct 14, 2019Previous reviewDr Sciabbarassi and the whole office are as nice and friendly and comforting as it gets to going to a Doctor's office.
He really cares about making sure you've got all your needs met, and understanding what your goals are, and of course making sure not just your physical well being but also mental as well.
I had a diagnosis that made me want to choose the Holistic route and thank god I did, because it really would have gone a different path had I stuck to conventional doctors.
Of course, from a cost perspective - you will have to pay out of pocket for most expenses, which you really have to be prepared for - because our current health system, my insurance company does not cover it and it is costly when you do not have anything covered. So be prepared.
Other than that, you will be sure to be taken care of! - Thomas D.Los Angeles, CA08Jan 24, 2020
I have been under his care for years now for a persistent issue that my previous doctor was unable to diagnose, let alone help. It's rare to find a doctor that's so well versed in the latest medical studies, and still open minded enough to try proven alternative therapies. If you're struggling, looking for answers and unsure where to turn, Dr. Sciabbarrasi might just be your best hope for health.
He sure was for me.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Luke S.Los Angeles, CA07Oct 26, 2018Updated review
Dr. Sciabbarrasi figured out how to diagnose and treat what had been a years-long medical nightmare for me. When I came to him I hadn't worked in a few years and it was looking like I'd never be able to work again. But Dr. Sciabbarrasi and his very kind and hardworking staff have helped me navigate through all the tests, symptoms, treatment options, and general confusion that goes with a long-term chronic illness. Today I have been back at work for almost seven months. Dr. S. should have a plaque on his wall for figuring out how to get me out of bed, able to function, and back to work. Dozens of times, I have seen doctor Sciabbarrasi leaving his office with his arms full of about ten pounds of papers and books that he needs to study before work the next day. He's really smart, really humble, really compassionate, really patient, and quietly relentless.
Update:
Whoa. I just read a couple of the bad reviews of Dr. Sciabbarrasi. I don't know what happened in those cases. But I will just say that complicated, chronic illnesses are not going to be figured out and "solved" by any doctor in two or three visits. My treatment took maybe two years with Dr. Sciabbarrasi. But that was after several years of other doctors running out of ideas and wasting my time. But I feel an obligation to write a good review because this doctor and his staff have really helped me when I couldn't find help anywhere else.Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0Oct 24, 2018Previous reviewDr. Sciabbarrasi figured out how to diagnose and treat what had been a years-long medical nightmare for me.
