This used to be on of my favorite nail salons to go to, but has gone way down hill over the past year or so. Save yourself the trouble by going some place else & getting quality service.
I've had issues on a few occasions of my gel polish bubbling up and chipping on the same day of my service, sloppy polish work, & overall bad customer service. When it comes to spending money at an establishment you would expect to receive quality work/services in exchange, you will not get that here.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Nov 4, 2023
As someone who believes in the importance of tipping, regardless of the circumstances, I recently found myself in a situation that was nothing short of ridiculous. My visit to a Joy nail salon left me feeling as though I had been transported back to nail tech elementary school. Every aspect of the technician's work was executed so poorly and amateurishly that the nail itself began to separate from the gel. It was a disappointing sight, to say the least.
While I must commend the salon for its efficiency in minimizing waiting times, this small positive was overshadowed by a significant language barrier. The technician assigned to me did not speak a word of English, making communication virtually impossible. In an attempt to salvage the situation, I resorted to nodding along, hoping that my lack of verbal cues would be sufficient to convey my preferences.
Unfortunately, the overall experience fell far short of my expectations. The subpar workmanship, combined with the language barrier, left me feeling frustrated and dissatisfied. I cannot in good conscience recommend this particular nail salon. However, I leave it up to you to decide whether the potential aggravation is worth enduring.

I walked in today with no appointment and was sat down at the chair IMMEDIATELY. I was offered a drink, everything was sanitized thoroughly, and then we went through what i wanted - I was told off the bat what to expect price-wise! Tina was AMAZING, she paid such attention to detail and while she holds an easy going conversation, I didn't feel the need to fill the silence (which is kind of unusual for me lol).
I've tried out about 5 nail salons in the past few months and this is the only one I've felt truly deserves a review - in my experience all services, quality, and customer service was exceptional
and for the purposes of full transparency no filter :-)Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Barbara H.Richmond, VA026Apr 14, 2023
I love this business. Very elegant with massaging chairs. I have been to several nail salons and franchise nail salons but once I found this one, I'm never going to another one
It is very large and spacious and a great environment to receive a pedicure and manicure. Services both male and female as well as a full diversified clientele. This is the one.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Alainna S.Baltimore, MD01Oct 31, 2023
Terrible service. Dip nails chipped after two days. Tech did not put top coat on nails.

DO NOT GO THERE! Absolutely terrible experience. The nail tech I had was on her phone watching a show the whole time and made it take so much longer. She also ripped out half my nail and did a really bad job. I will definitely be going somewhere else next time.

What a shame. First time ever I've had a mean mani pedi lady. Like mean-teacher mean. Eye-rolling, pulling my hand closer, pushing other way, correcting me, not engaging in any kind of idle chit chat , though English seemed strong with corrections. I spent the whole time trying to relax but feeling like I was in freaking trouble! Pedi, because it wasn't an "upgrade" from the "menu" lasted about 12 minutes. Massage was about 1 minute and was like a tired couple of gloved swipes and done.
Pedi mani result sucked too. I figured if it all looked great then so be it. Nooooo. Worst part was I'd been sick but forced myself to go engage in some self-care. It was funny at the beginning, surreal like a Wes Anderson film but then the results just bad. Save yourself precious time and cash, pick anywhere else.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Shamecca S.Nellis Air Force Base, NV54112Jul 9, 2022
Had to get my nails and toes done at the last minute and found this place on Yelp. Had a wonderful experience. Vicky did my nails and designed my toes- she was awesome !!!

I was very disappointed with my first visit to Joy Nails. I needed to get my nails done and had an appointment at my usual place, but my friends really wanted theirs done too, last minute. Joy Nails was kind enough to provide us with a reasonable appointment, we each went one at a time practically, and we enjoyed a couple of the $3 champagne promotion, (that was a nice touch!) but when I told my nail technician that I didn't want gel on my toes she argued with me and insisted she knew what was best. (My nails grow different and require to be cut back and maintained biweekly. Gel lasts way too long for that.) After arguing about it for about 5 minutes I finally said whatever. I wasn't going to let it ruin my time with friends.
The rest of the experience was fine, until it came time for the bill. I was displeased because I didn't even want gel on my toes but of course was charged for it, as it is what I received. That is fine, you get what you pay for. I expected my nails to last at least 2-3 weeks as they usually do.
These were my nails after 4 days. They started to peel from the bottom up and would get caught in my hair and clothes. I will never take another chance with a different nail place, especially this one. The quality just is not there and it is not worth the price! Fusion Nails in Carytown will forever be my happy place! They've never let me down!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0
