Kids Jungle Cuts

Had to give an update, my lowered star rating is due to new owners/management not honoring a prepaid haircut (it was buy 3 for a discount) that I had purchased before we moved out of state. We came back and thought we had that last haircut, I called ahead to make sure and they said they wouldn't honor it. Very disappointing. Also, the main thing I think of about my son's haircut experience here was how badly the girl who cut his hair smelled like cigarette smoke. I would think that would be restricted better when working with children. In sure the inside of the shop is still adorable, but that wouldn't make up for management or staff.

This is a hard one for me because this place is ideal for kids. The staff are great with the babies/toddlers and it is very clean and welcoming and I know my son feels comfortable.

However, after taking my toddler in for the 4th time- I won't be going back.

Cut #1 - asked for a trim with texture, my child ends up with a bowl cut similar to the kid from the movie problem child.

Cut #2- I brought a picture so they could my vision and nothing could be misinterpreted. My son does modeling for a clothing website and so a certain trendy look is needed.

Ended up with the longest of his hair being about an inch in length when the picture shows only the sides as short and the top as long/textured/angled
(I also got charged 15.00 for a tip when I wrote in 5.00)

Cut #3 - same picture as before, my kid walked out looking like Lloyd from Dumb and Dumber

Cut #4- same picture and stylist as cut #2- again my kid has no hair left and angled bangs that point the wrong direction. Seriously .. you angle down from the part- how is this even a discussion!?

Anyways- my point is- these girls are sweet and great but unless you want anything more than a buzz cut or fade, you won't get it at jungle cuts. These girls need some continued education in the use of angles, textures, and styles. I won't make the same mistake of letting six months of growth be butchered by a clipper again just because they are nice!

Only negative: a little bit understaffed. Stylists have to staff the front desk.

We took our two kids for their first hair cuts. My son, 10mo and daughter, 3yr, both in to get a trim.

The salon is very kid friendly, with plenty for them to do while they wait. If you book an appointment like we did, your wait is only a couple of minutes.

Mackenzie did both of our kid's hair. Her station is well decorated and like every other station, has a movie playing. She did very well with my girl, giving her hair some shape. Very quick and clean. My only critisim is that I'd like to have her discuss with us what she thinks would be some good ideas for my daughters hair.

My son had a mood swing mid cut, which we thought Mackenzie handled well. She did a little boy cut on him, but in a fit of rage, my son buzzed himself. She felt bad, did her best to fix it, and I the end, you could not really tell. Either way, we recognize the difficulty in cutting a baby's hair and honestly we didn't care to be angry about it... Hair grows back, no biggie! She did discount the cut for the error, and while grateful, wasn't necessary. Good customer service!

They presented both our kids with first haircut certificates with their pictures taken and signed by Mackenzie. Our kids got a reward and our daughter didn't have a hard time at all.

We will be back.

I go to Kids Jungle Cut to get my eyebrows done by Savannah. In all of my years getting my eyebrows done, Savannah is hands down the best I've ever been to! My eyebrows look perfect!! She loves her job and takes great pride in doing it! Yesterday I arrived early for my appointment and got to witness her doing a haircut on an adorable 1yr old boy. Not only does she do a great haircut she is very good with kids easing their fears & making them feel as comfortable as possible while getting their haircut!

I've been bringing my kids here for 2-3 years now. I was glad to see the kid friendly environment, small play area, tv's at each booth and the jungle theme. Yes when I first visited it did seem a bit dirty but decided to give it a try since the staff was so friendly and my kids were excited to have a kid place to get a hair cut. The best part was the regulars who would come in and the staff knew them and knew what style they wanted. So I decided to continue coming and the staff got to know my kids as well.

In my last visit I did notice the staff had changed from the girls that I normally knew or recognized. Yes the place looked like it had finally been cleaned but I had also lost some great stylist who knew what I wanted for my kids. The last time I took my kids I told the stylist I wanted a scissor hair cut and she insisted on the clippers. At that point I just wanted to leave and not come back. In the end my son did get his scissor hair cut.

I do want to continue coming here, but I do also want a friendly staff.

Took my son for his first haircut and I was so disappointed. They weren't very friendly, the person who cut his hair seemed like they were on drugs, and they kept pushing a cheap paper certificate for first haircut. His haircut looks terrible. It makes me sad that this is our first haircut memory.

Quick service. No problem with walk ins but the stylist was very rude and didn't follow any of the instructions I wanted for my child's hair. Yay happy birthday... here is a crappy quickly done hair cut. Get a better attitude lady! You work with kiddos!

I have heard great reviews about Jungle Cuts. Tried to contact them by phone this morning using the number on their website, but was informed that it was not a working number. Am I the only one having this problem?

Loved this place. New location is spacious and they did a great job with my twins. My daughter got a braid and it stayed for two days. Very happy.

Friendly environment and fantastic staff who are sweet with the kiddos. Double thumbs up!
