I think I have been going to Dr. Kitamura a little over 2 years now. As others have said they use new gadgets like a scaler for each patient and scanner to have a 3D model of your teeth on hand. Another thing they do here is that Dr Kitamura along with his dental assistant Christine actually do the entire cleaning for each patient instead of a hygienist. From what i can tell they give a full hour block to each patient give or take which allows them to be a lot more thorough.
Now I'm kinda more a go with the flow while I'm there but if you wanted to stop to ask them questions I'm sure they would stop to answer them; so I would say ask if you have any questions or reservations. And I have called into the office with some concerns about my invisalign and how it was affecting my jaw: Christine answered the call and advised me on what I should do until my next visit instead of what I was intending on doing.
In my opinion there is a lot more time and care given to each patient here.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Saw C.San Gabriel, CA02Sep 1, 2023
The saying too good to be true is for Dentist Dr. Kitamura. I saw 5 star reviews from Google and I trusted you to go there.
Can't chew after filling done with Dr Kitamura and his nurse ask me to wait and see after 6 months. BTW, It's been over 2 months and still existing.
He filled up three teeth at the same time and two became very sensitive on chewing.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

Hello Saw C.
It is very unfortunate to hear about your ongoing issue. Postoperative tooth sensitivity with composite restorations continues to be a common, yet unpredictable, problem in dentistry. Whenever a tooth is surgically treated there is always a chance of irritating the nerve inside of the tooth in the form of mechanical (drilling) or chemical (bonding) stimulus. Post-operative discomfort is usually the nerve’s response to these different forms of stimulus introduced during treatment. The nerve may respond by becoming inflamed, which in turn can lead to sensitivity to cold and chewing. As the tooth heals over time, you should notice the sensitivity getting less frequent and less severe. This healing process may take days to weeks, and in some cases months. It all differs on a patient-to-patient basis.
Although rare, we always inform our patients of this possibility and provide instructions to call us if there is a post-op sensitivity issue. One immediate remedy I could suggest is switching to an anti-sensitivity toothpaste like “Sensodyne” as that may help alleviate the symptoms.
Again, it is unfortunate that your recovery is taking longer but if you have any further questions, please feel free to reach out to our office. Take care. - Jenn P.Monterey Park, CA15395105Aug 18, 2022
Highly recommend this dentist clinic. The staff are very personable, professional, communicative, and understanding. This place is always clean and sanitized. The dentist Dr. Dai Kitamura and dental assistant Christine are both very gentle and ensure I am comfortable while having work done.

Please do not come here. Looks like they schedule you appointments without your consent to charge a no show fee. Receptionist here is very rude and doctor was careless after explaining to him my experience. I was told i could leave if I didn't like it. Everything about the receptionist is wrong. Please do not come here I don't even know why this place has 5 stars....
I hope you offer to show your call log and prove that I did not call as your receptionist accused me of lying because she states that she does her job very well and would of called when she didn't. The doctor was not present to say that Christian did not yell and advise i can leave. And why is it that i am getting more explanation on here than in person after i spoke to the doctor. I have proof of everything i am saying there is NO need for me to get upset if a $60 fee was waived and nicely explained to me. I did not threaten your worker, i called in to ask for her name as it was requested on my report and asked her to take her call log.she acted so giggly and nice as a a way of laughing at me (at least that is what it felt like) I also do not appreciate you telling me i am playing a victim when you were not present by that statement you prove to show how unprofessional you are. You say you book each person an hour but have us waiting anyway and again i kindly asked your receptionist if i can go in at 2:07 as i would need to leave work exactly at 2:00 and she said no when I myself waited 15 mins plus as you were still with a patient and not even finished yet. Very unprofessional seriously. All you could had done is apologized and fixed the issue and not make it worse. Lastly I waited over two weeks for this appointment as i had tooth pain You better believe that this is not what I expected and never did I expect to not get treated due to unprofessional behavior.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

We appreciate your feedback, however there a few things we must address and clarify. Our policy is that we charge $30 for a no show/less then 24 hr. cancellation and this applies to all patients. We do make exceptions if you are unable to make the appointment due to an emergency. We strictly adhere to this policy because we reserve a whole hour just for a single patient and never double book. This is so we can give our undivided attention to address each patients’ dental needs. Please show us respect by honoring this policy.
Our system shows that on two occasions last year there were instances that you either no showed or cancelled within 24 hrs. which would violate our policy. All our appointments are tracked by a digital scheduler, and we will be more then happy to share the dates/times you missed your appointments. Also, our staff will never reschedule appointments without prior patient approval. That would absolutely make no sense on our end, also our system tracks whenever an alteration is made to an appointment. The system will automatically send appointment reminders via text messages when they are first made and/or altered at any point. Our system shows on multiple occasions that you have received these texts and confirmed your appointments. Again, we will be more then happy to show you these logs along with the timestamps.
Lastly, the staff will never demand that you leave if you don’t like it. We do however ask for a mutual level of respect which in this instance will be to acknowledge our policies. The staff did not raise their voice and even offered to waive the $60 fee this one time, however that was no longer good enough for you. You made the decision to not want to continue being seen at our office, so please don’t pretend like you were the victim of some malicious intent. Also, we do not appreciate you calling us afterwards to threaten to report the staff to some sort of agency and wishing ill will upon them. Thank you. - Valerie P.Cheviot Hills, Los Angeles, CA04Feb 10, 2023
The best place to continue or begin your dental care in my opinion ! Dr. Kitamura is a very caring and thorough doctor who provides his undivided attention during each and every patient visit. His staff are very caring and welcoming which makes it more comforting to visit the dentist because not everyone enjoys seeing a dentist ! Christine his assistant did everything possible to accompany me and see my urgent matter . Most offices are very intimidating and scary but this office has a very peaceful and comforting environment i felt good being in this place! The doctor and his assistant Christine provide the best one on one patient care out there . You will not regret coming here :)

I've been going to Dr. Kitamura for years now and it's always a pleasant visit. He and Christine, his dental assistant, answer any and all of my questions, keep me up to date about my dental work and stay on top of me for scheduling my regular visits and anything in between.
Office is super cleanly and refreshing.

Hello Shinji H. Thank you for your feedback. The procedures we performed on your right side and left side are the same procedure and therefore have the same cost. Sometimes the procedure can take up to 2 hours, but at times we can finish much faster. Regardless of whether it takes 1 hr or 3 hrs we still charge the same price, since we do not charge by the hour but by the procedure we perform. Hope this answers your question, but if you have any questions please do not hesitate to call us, we will be more than happy to answer your questions and concerns. Thank you.

I've been going to Dr. Fujimoto for about 2-3 years and I love it here. The moment when I walked in, I paused for a moment because I thought I was in the wrong office lol. The whole waiting room has been remodeled and it looks nice especially the floors lol. I saw the familiar face Fujimoto assistant who is always pleasant and wonderful then got greeted by Dr. Kitamura who was very professional and friendly. I felt welcomed.
I normally come in for cleaning and it's always painless! He always ask if your comfortable or doing okay while processing which I can tell he cares about his patients being in pain. I recently went in for filling and when he numbed me, I didn't feel any pain.. I was really amazed.
I'm glad Dr. Fujimoto handed this place over to someone that's like him that cares for his patients. I would recommend this place to my friends if they're looking for a new dentist. Also he does invisalign!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Caroline L.Fontana, CA082Dec 27, 2017
Dr. Kitamura is the "go to" dentist in the entire San Gabriel Valley! My husband and I pleasantly transitioned into becoming his patients, from the now retired Dr. Fujimoto.
It's nice to walk in to his modern clinic each time we visit for our bi-annual check ups and cleanings. His newly renovated office and latest dental technology makes our experience an even more pleasant one!
I recently went to the clinic for some dental fillings and Dr. Kitamura couldn't be any more gentle! The procedure was needless to say, fast and most of all pain free!! He consistently asked me if I felt any pain throughout the dental procedure and made it a comfortable and pleasant experience for me. As a perfectionist, he took his time to make any adjustments on my bite until I was absolutely comfortable.
Christine, who is the dental assistant is an extraordinary staff member of the Kitamura team. Whether working well chair side with the doctor or helping us at the front desk, she is friendly, caring, and always welcomes us with a sincere smile! She is very efficient in scheduling our appointments and accommodating our needs with our busy schedules. Billing and insurance too, are always hassle free and taken care of with efficiency!
We recommend all our family and friends to Kitamura Dental Clinic!!
I give them TEN STARS!!Helpful 1Thanks 1Love this 0Oh no 0
