I was interested in Koffee Therapy Cafe, as I was just looking for a new place to enjoy coffee and studying. I have to say, this place was an amazing find.
《Service》
The lady at the front counter is very kind and patient. I saw many patrons engage in small talk with her throughout the days I visited. For most of my visits, she seemed to be a one-woman show, making the coffee, loading ingredients from downstairs, and even setting up books or flowers on the tables. For those dining-in who were older or had a harder time moving, she would even bring their order to their table. Great service.
《Ambience》
The inside of this cafe is very home-like and warm. A unique assortment of couches, booths, and chairs can be found to fit your needs choose you decide to dine-in. Music is also played throughout the cafe. However, it is mostly latin music. It isn't the newer trap wave or the mariachi type music either. It is more like soft cumbia similar to Ondatropica's "Cumbia Espacial." For some it may be loud, but I found it was at an enjoyable volume most of the time. This cafe also does not really get crowded at all, making it a great place to spend time working or studying.
《Product》
The coffee here does taste different than what you would find from other cafes like Ceremony, but I don't mind. My favorite drink is the Black & White. It is similar to a chai and reminds me of the holidays. The owner also has a variety of pastries displayed and also offers sandwiches.
Overall, this quaint cafe is a gem that should receive more attention, but at the same time, I enjoy its discreet status.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Aug 21, 2018
I have been wanting to get to this location for so long and today is the day I made it happen!!
I love the open seating area as you enter.
The decor was very inviting and included fresh flowers! I love fresh flowers !!
Dave was very welcoming and kind. He was very helpful w answering my questions and friendly while making my Hazelnut Latte.
This warm and inviting coffeehouse definitely deserves a visit when in the neighborhood !!Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Jan 27, 2020
Mm...pass on this one.
My future in-laws came up to visit this weekend and we decided to take them around Baltimore to show off this fun city. We started off with Koffee Therapy Cafe thinking we could sit down for a nice cup of coffee and cozy ambiance. Hmm, it was disappointing to say the least.
First, there is no sign at all on the outside that says "Koffee Therapy Cafe". It just has red lettering on the outside of the windows "tea, coffee, etc etc". You walk up the stairs and take a left through the door.
Another Yelper (Ashley J) had the exact same experience I did about a year ago. The lady behind the register (presumably the business owner according to the response to Ashley J's review) was on her laptop/ipad when we walked in and didn't even bother to look up and acknowledge that we were there. We stood there and then finally she said hi...without even looking up. I smiled and asked "Is this Koffee Therapy Cafe? I didn't see a sign outside." She gazed up with her chin pointed down and remarked that there was no sign indeed, but that "most people/locals know that this is the coffee shop since there's red lettering that says "coffee" "tea" on the window. (Newsflash lady--not everyone who walks in is a local!) I nodded and she was again preoccupied with whatever she was doing on her laptop then mumbled, "Let me know when you're ready to order". We were all so put off by that interaction, but since we were there, we ordered drip coffee and a rose tea.
She got the order for the tea wrong at first. Seeing how distracted/preoccupied she was with her laptop, I'm not surprised. The coffee was okay, nothing worth talking about. We sat down on couches by a coffee table that was littered with dirty cups and disheveled newspapers. She finally came over at one point and cleaned up the table. Overall, not a great experience at all. Not worth your time nor your money. There are plenty of other coffee shops around Baltimore that welcome and respect their customers. Highly recommend taking your business elsewhere.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1 - Mar 5, 2019
Edited- wonder how is this place getting good reviews- the coffee is ok and the food is meh. She took 53 minutes to make two sandwiches and one coffee. I had no orders ahead of me. Good lord.
Cute tables with flowers :)
I had a latte and it was smooth and surprisingly at perfect, drinkable temperature.
Being from Mumbai, I got a Mumbai sandwich which basically has turkey and bacon on a naan which was, ok.
The only issue is this place takes forever, visit only when you have a ton of time. But, the nice barista makes up for it.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Vivi W.Baltimore, MD05744Aug 24, 2018Updated review
I like the ambience. Out of all the coffee shops I've tried so far in Mt Vernon, This is one of the better ones. It's a good spot for studying and I recommend the hot chai.
Edit: I definitely do NOT recommend the iced chai latte. It tasted like watered down milk.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Jul 14, 2018Previous reviewI like the ambience. Had a terrific cappuccino with pastry here. The app in an old row house is historic, rustic, fun. But by all mean find the courtyard on back. It's peaceful with a fountain and shade plant garden.
Love this place a lot. The have sandwiches and salads too...but haven't tried them.

I travel a lot for work and the first thing I look for is a coffee shop I can work from. It's a plus if they also have food. This shop has both caffeine and a nice lunch menu (salads and sandwiches). It is super cute and cozy. I saw individuals with books, laptops, studying and reading for leisure. There was only one lady serving so the wait was a little longer than I'd like. The sandwich and salad were tasty. Their coffee was also quite good.
I worked and grabbed a bite while seating in their creative space! Perfect.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jayne O.Baltimore, MD401917Jun 7, 2018
Koffee Therapy is a cozy little shop slightly off the beaten path. There currently (as of yesterday) is no sign, so you just have to know where to look. Once inside, the environment is comfortable - lots of tables and chairs and a fun couch. The high ceilings and stacks of magazines make the coffee shop feel more like a friend's living room than a cafe.
The actual coffee, however, is disappointing. The barista had to ask my friend how to make a fog, a very common drink. I had to check that he could make an iced latte - he could, but poorly. The croissant I had was ok. What was more disappointing was the lack of selection among breakfast food items. They had a lot more available for lunch - I saw a woman order a sandwich and it looked well made.
If I could bring my own food and coffee and just sit in the place, that would be preferable.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Rita Y.Cupertino, CA740281872Jun 28, 2015

Perfect place to study, only downside is that they close pretty early at 5pm. The outdoor area is SO cute and their drinks are top notch. Try the Mocha if you can, it's amazing.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Emily Y.Saratoga, CA6876433225Sep 23, 2016
I love the atmosphere here!
Came in on a scorcher of a day and got a iced latte. Afterwards, I admired the art on the walls, the comfy seating arrangements, and the small patio/yard in the back (at that point it was still too hot to stay there). This is definitely a great place to come study, or chill with friends over drinks.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0
