L'etoile Salon De Tea is a hidden gem. And despite the name, this place is Far More than a quaint little "Hole-in-the-Wall" with a pleasant ambiance and a nice selection of teas. In fact, like the Old Scotland of yesteryear itself, trying to appeal to a delicate Continental sensibility of restraint and sophistication, L'etoile Salon De Tea shows all of traits of a feminine tea salon, with its refined service and its thoughtful offerings, yet beneath the surface here there lays the raging hunger of the Scotts, ready to grab a fistful of your neighboring table's scones and jam. So, begin your feasting here with the Full Scottish Breakfast including Haggis. Its very good.

Very good cafe that we ate breakfast at during a recent trip to Scotland, highly recommended. I ordered a full Scottish breakfast that was fantastic, and my friend ordered one of the sandwiches that he said was excellent. This place had a bit of everything, full breakfast or lunch meals, good coffee, desserts, etc. I also really liked the location as it is a block or two off the main grass market area and felt much more laid back. Service was also great, FYI.

This was such a cute place to stop by. While looking around for food, we found this place and showed it to have good reviews. It definitely did not disappoint. The place had plenty of room and can tell was taken care of. It's definitely a place to come relax at or do any work you have as it was quite even with many people there. They even had baked goods displayed at the counter that all looked amazing. We were seated very quickly and ordered coffee. Mine was alright, but that's not what impressed me. The food itself was awesome. I had the L'etoile breakfast that gave plenty for a person to eat. Bacon, sausage, eggs, beans, toast, and a tomato, which was all good. I really liked the toast , which tasted fresh, and the sausage was awesome. My friend had a vegetarian option but she loved it too. The croissant was the best. The servers there were nice and appreciated them checking on us. Even coming over to take an order from a friend faily quickly when he showed up late. I would definitely recommend this place if you come by to Edinburgh.

This cute little French cafe is right around the corner from my son's flat. I came here for lunch recently and was very pleased that I did! It felt like I was in a cafe in France with French speakers seated at the tables beside me. I was not very hungry so I was going to just have the soup of the day but the prices were so reasonable I decided to get a tuna mayo baguette and soup combo which came with a little salad. Everything was delicious! I ended up bringing half of the sandwich back to my son and he liked it, too. I would definitely go back!

This place is so cute! A little French inspired gem in the heart of gorgeous Edinburgh. The coffee was fantastic and the breakfast egg roll was fantastic! Service was prompt and the waitress was so kind! We will be back!

This cozy French cafe is one the few places open early (8:30) for breakfast. The espresso is very good, the gluten-free options are limited but well communicated, and the quality of the food is very good. Attentive and friendly wait service makes it even better. This is the only time my wife (who needs GF food) has ever had the chef bring the food out and personally assure her that it is gluten-free and there was no cross contamination. We are so appreciative and would definitely recommend L'etoile to others.

This was a lovely little cafe, perfect for a small bite to eat before exploring the beautiful city of Edinburgh. We popped in for a cappuccino and a bit of breakfast. I grabbed a vegetable quiche while Chuck had a mini breakfast with egg, sausage, bacon and toast. They serve a large assortment of teas and small pastries. It was the perfect small bite to warm us up and get us moving. If you are near the Haymarket, I suggest walking a bit past and going here for a bit of breakfast.

We stopped by this place twice when we were in Edinburgh. Service is incredibly friendly, food is excellent and reasonable prices. Perfect for breakfast and brunch! I ordered the soup of the day and it was a carrot and lentil soup, it was delicious! The toasts were also very tasty, I ordered the goat cheese and my husband ordered the salami.
The desserts look great, we will have to go back to try them!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Andrea C.San Luis Obispo, CA296Apr 4, 2019
If I could give 6 stars I would. This is the BEST breakfast I've had in Edinburgh, and I was so surprised because the food is so affordable. Try their breakfast and one of their desserts, as they're to die for. The lady serving us was incredibly helpful, sweet, and friendly. You NEED to go here!!
