Is it safe to park on the street?

      A:

Yes, it is. There are a ton of parking meter spots (if you can find a free one) and some lots nearby.

    • Q:

      What's the parking situation?

      A:

They have valet for like $20 or $25 and there’s parking around the area. You might have to drive around a few times to find one but people are always coming and going. We found parking fairly quick

This place has a decent happy hour in my opinion! They're on weekdays from 5-7pm, and it was easy to reserve for a group of 8 the day before for a Wednesday. It's also great coming here with a large group since you can get seated in their large tables with views of down town.

Happy hour margaritas were $10 each, but I would stick to the normal or spicy pineapple version, and I was not a fan of the specialty honeydew one (too artificial tasting and I think they added mezcal, which I'm not a big fan of). I also liked the ceviche and quesabirria taco that we ordered as apps. It seems like their happy hour menu items are smaller versions of their regular menu, so adjust accordingly to your party size.

Service was also great! Our waitress consistently checked in with us, even 10 minutes before HH closed. I was lucky and found street parking nearby, but there's also a paid lot across the street. Would definitely revisit!

Cute spot for a cocktail & appetizer.
The ambience is nice, plus who doesn't love a rooftop?

Also, HH drinks from 5pm-7pm, for $10 margaritas.

      FLAVOR (4/5):
      1. GUACAMOLE: I'm not a huge fan of guacamole, but I really liked this! The creaminess of the avocado was balanced out by the citrus.
      2. CEVICHE: The ceviche was good, but nothing super special. The kumquat flavor was very strong here.
      3. TOSTADA TERRAZA: I liked this dish! Hard to share, but we managed to cut it in half. Balanced flavor, and the fish was fresh.
      4. PESCADO CHA CHA CHA: I always jump at a chance to try a restaurant's branzino and this was good! However I've had so many that were outstanding, so this one fell flat compared to the one at Bavel and Zinqué.

      SERVICE (5/5):
      Service was great!

      AMBIENCE (5/5):
The restaurant is on a rooftop with plenty of heaters to keep you warm. It's absolutely beautiful and the string lights really add to the ambience. Perfect for date night.

      PARKING (2.5/5):
It's the art's district, so it's hard to find parking. But on Sunday evenings you can normally find something.

      TAKEAWAYS:
I'll let you guys in on a date spot secret... Make a reservation for La Cha Cha Cha and another reservation for Death & Co right after. They're right next to each other so no rush and the vibes of both are great. Drinks here, drinks there, drinks everywhere.

I've always walked by this restaurant in the Arts District and finally decided to give it a try. I came here for dinner with a few friends. The dim lighting made it feel intimate although we were on a open rooftop. The space heaters were nice as well because it did get a bit chilly.

The food and service were great! Various staff would come by our table in the corner to check in every now and then throughout the duration of our dinner. All the dishes we ordered were perfectly seasoned and as expected. My favorites were the ceviche (the coconut brine balanced well with the shrimp and kumquat), queso fundido (melty cheesy goodness), and the barbacoa (very tender lamb). The salsa trio also paired well with some of the dishes we got. Overall, the dining experience was enjoyable and we left with full bellies.

Yes yes yes! Loves this place so much! Late Valentines date night and it was perfect setting. It's located rooftop a building in downtown LA towards arts district.

The staff was super helpful and attentive. We began at the bar and moved to our table once ready. The menu is extensive and very well put together.

Ordered both the aguachile and ceviche and both were amazing! We didn't order main dishes but went with getting a few appetizers like birria tacos and the chicharrón taco. They all compliment each other and it was plenty of food with enough left for dessert. The chocobanana layered dessert was also amazing and perfectly balanced.

I really enjoyed this place so will definitely be back!

Been here long time ago in covid when reservations was a must for Friday nights!
Last night we got the chance to go with no reservation. We sat outside and the had heaters to keep us warm!

I like the vibe, lighting and decorations. The service was good too!

      Cocktails and food disappointing though!

The mezcal cocktail was not tasty or strong!
The fish taco was burnt and tasted like coal.
The green salad was so boring!

Overall I think they need to start working on their menu once again.

The location is perfect but quality has dropped.

Went to the Mexico City one and loved it. This one is cool, a little pricey for what it is but worth a visit. The mezcal penecillin is great and the guacamole is way too small of a portion for the price. Limited vegan options.

Came here for Cinco de mayo. We sat outside and there were a lot of lights that made the space feel really dark and ambient. Honestly, the food was good but it wasn't amazing for the price point. For the pricing I did expect more. A side of me wanted to go and get some taco trucks after to fill us up for 1/10 of the price. Overall was a good experience though. Wouldn't come back but did enjoy myself.

I have only had great experiences at La Cha Cha Chá so far! The food here is consistently excellent, and so are the drinks!

Some highlights for me have been the bone marrow esquites, sopes, and any of the tostadas. As for drinks, the espresso martinis are still so excellent.

Service is always friendly, and the overall vibe is elevated but relaxed. Great for intimate dinners or nights out with a large group. If you are a larger group with no reservation, it is better to arrive earlier than 6:40 to score a table.
