Great atmosphere, very welcoming family vibes, great service, food is fresh and hella good, flautas are fully stuffed of flavor, carne asada is on point with the seasonings and can't forget the gallo pinto taste like it came out of my mommas kitchen, highly recommend La Fritanguera

The food is delicious. It's hot and fresh. The service is amazing. Isabella does a great job of offering recommendations to first-time diners while being attentive to all other diners in the establishment. The music makes you feel good. The restaurant has a very inviting atmosphere where new diners will feel right at home.

Great weather for outdoor patio seating, great promot service, really tasty drinks, and yummy food. I was waiting for a friend and sat outside, they kept coming out to check on me until she arrived. Yelp check-in freebie of Red dragon fruit limeade it the spot (not too sweet or too tart!). The creamy jalapeno shrimp was so good with pretty big pieces of shrimp.
They had really nice music playing, not too loud. There's street parking as well as a small parking lot in the back.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - ML P.San Francisco, CA0312Mar 31, 2024
I don't know what happened to this place. I had not been there in over 1-2 yrs, and the food definitely has changed and not for the better. Maybe a new cook or a non-Nicaraguan cook? They no longer have the brand Queso Frito, but there are plenty of places that sell queso para freÃr (cheese used to fry), so why can't this restaurant get some? Ordered buñuelos to-go, and they were tasteless! I think they were just made with flour masa but missed the yucca and queso rallado. The syrup was made with water and sugar but no cinnamon! We were all very disappointed. Someone who is not familiar with the Nicaraguan gastronomy must have made those buñuelos. They had run out of some dishes on the menu, also no nacatamales, and a couple of hand-made juices were not available too. Like if you don't have the food and drinks on the menu, just close for the day! And please, buy queso para freÃr. They are sold at many Mexican stores! The Mixto dish listed yucca but no yucca in the plate. Needless to say, we won't be coming back. We will instead drive to Las Tinajas in San Francisco.
The cerdo was tasty though and the chicharrones. Maduro frito was not sweet-- was at that stage between green and sweet.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

Hello, I understand that not everyone is going to understand about the recall and that the FACTORY has closed due to 2 deaths from the listeria outbreak.
We are not cheese makers.
We've never had Nicaraguan Staff, really it doesn't matter what nationality someone is to cook. We had the same cook since we opened. Also, note that we are not selling cheese that comes from Nicaragua in luggage because we have a duty as an established to protect our consumers.
I will investigate the buñuelos taste and syrup because they are our best sellers.
Note that we do sell out of some items, baho, Nacatamales, and Desmenuza are extremely labor intensive. We shop daily. And proud to provide freshly made dishes.
Take care,

After two years we came back today 4/27 To have lunch. We were very disappointed with the plates we ordered. For example one of the plates we ordered 19.99 was pork full of plantain you get from a bag at the supermarket or dollar tree. Came with a small piece of fried cheese and ensalada de repollo . I was expecting all items cooked there not from a bag of plantains you get from a store . The pork had good flavor . We also order one with chicken the meat had good flavor but of dry plantain chips from a bag. It's too bad the plates have change for the worse . By the way the gallo pinto lack flavor.

Hello, Sorry to hear about the disappointment. The lunch plates start at 13.99, and like any other restaurant, we have optional add-on, like the 4.00 cheese plus tax. We are in different times from 2 years ago, and inflation is real.
We make everything in the house, but when we can't source green plantain or sellout, we scrambled for the package chips.
I'm glad you enjoyed the pork and chicken.
Thank you,

I always say that some of the best restaurants I've been to are the hole in the wall and local restaurants. This is one of them. You don't find too many Nicaraguan spots in the area, but I have to admit that this is the only one I know of in the area. I was driving on Willow Pass Rd and saw a sign that said, "Nicaraguan Food" which prompted me to look it up on Yelp. A couple hours later, there we were having dinner.
There was a few parking spots off the street available considering the fact that the restaurant is around the corner of Todos Santos Park, an area that's normally frequented by locals and plenty of restaurants. We were lucky to find parking in front of the establishment.
The restaurant was small, enough to serve about 20 people. It was like the size of a small coffee shop. Anyway, they had one waitress/host working. She was very friendly.
They provided no menus but the option to scan for a menu on our phone. The website needs work and not all images of the meals were provided. We ordered the Pollo Asado plate with plantain chips and a side of queso frito. For drinks we ordered and a Guava con Limon. We also tried the Dragonfruit lemonade.
We didn't have to wait long for our food. It arrived pretty fast. My eyes rolled back when I took a bite of the chicken. I automatically knew that it was a winner. It was delicious. The rice mixed with beans was very tasty as well. Loved the salad on the side. I think it was pickled cabbage. Wasn't sure on what it was.
Overall food, service, and experience was great. Definitely adding this to my list of local spots to eat.
Just an FYI to future customers:
The waitress added $4 for the slice of cheese (She failed to mention that it wasn't part of the meal)
There is a surcharge if you pay with credit/debit card
The price is a bit too high for some of the meals in my opinion.
They are only open on certain days and hours. Please call the establishment first because this doesn't show online.Helpful 4Thanks 1Love this 3Oh no 1 - Feb 10, 2024Updated review
I had Nacatamales they are so delicious, they are big, they have a lot of flavor. They had a kick of chile to them that made them extra yummy. The price is right. This are the best nacatamales I've had in a long time. You will not be disappointed.

The place is nice and clean, they also do have a sitting area outside if you preferred We came in on a Sunday for brunch. We ordered a Plato Nica platter, it has a little bit of everything from the traditional plates from nicaragua, the portion is large, I would say serves up to 4 people. Everything on the Nica plate was very good with lots of flavor, it had pork, beef, chicken, tajadas, queso, vigoron, Gallo pinto, ensalada. We also ordered a plate of fried chicken with gallo pinto y tajadas, it was a very nice piece of chicken breast fried. The service was great. I do not know the gal's name but everytime we've gone she's the face of the restaurant. She's very nice and helpful.

Este restaurante es un fraude. El arroz esta frio. Las tajadas viejes (de la semana pasada). El queso parece Tofu. Es un robo. Pagamos $100 para comida imitacion. Las muchachas son amables.

Hello Blanco, apologies for the rice, the cook was having issues in the kitchen. The cheese we try to communicate with a notice of the cheese - that the FACTORY is closed due to the listeria outbreak, that states it's not the same cheese and it lacks on sodium. Thank you. Have a great day.
