While San Diego is the land of great burritos, some places are better than others and La Mesita is definitely in the delicious column. Their burritos are huge, easily two meals worth, and the meat was high quality, perfectly seasoned and crisp fries in the California Burrito, and tasty salsa to accompany the meal.
I can't speak to the service or atmosphere as our friends were the ones who actually picked up the food, but they did mention how friendly and generous the staff was.
TLDR: Great Cali burrito, huge portions, reasonable pricing.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jan 2, 2024
Picked up La Mesita's for lunch for the first time. The service was fast. We got a bean and cheese burrito, rolled tacos, pollo asado fries, and pollo asado tacos. Prices were a little higher than our usual taco spot but not outrageous. The pollo asado fries were ok, not great. Everything else was just as good as our usual spot. I loved the green hot sauce. Had great flavor and perfect slickness. If our usual place is close again, we will be back!

Out of all the local taco shops this definitely has the best quality food and taste. I know we all have our favorite places and this definitely is mine. The service is always great as well. The restaurant it self is great to sit and dine! I'm happy that this place is right down the street from me

I love this place. My boyfriend and I live down the street and go at least monthly, sometimes even more. Their potato tacos are chefs kiss. Their jalapeño salsa is also amazing. We never have to wait long and the young cashier is always so friendly when we go in. Their prices are also super affordable! We love this place.

Food is always great! With the cost of eating out these days I don't waste my money if it's not worth every penny. La Mesita has never let me down in almost 20 years.
It's one of the cleanest restaurant I've ever seen.

A go to place for traditional Mexican food. A little pricey but worth it in taste. I had the menudo, as I crave it during rainy or cold days like today. It was ur basic hominy and tripe but no (pata). Store bought tortillas were ok, but as we all know, homemade is always the best. This little restaurant is always neat and clean!

Best secret in Orange County: Fresh ingredients, vibrant flavors, and authentic recipes create these gourmet tacos and more! Love the handmade blue corn tortillas. Don't be fooled by the look of the location (renovated fast food spot). Great service in a simple setting. Delish!

I was underwhelmed by my takeout order last night. I don't know if it's because I ordered near their closing hours, but I got a carne asada taco with rice and beans on the side and both the meat and corn tortilla tasted tough. The portion size was generous but still more expensive than I was expecting ($5.50 for a single taco plus $1.99 for the rice & beans). My husband loved his order of menudo but that was also pricey ($12.50), not to mention my order of chips and guacamole costing $7.99.
TLDR; high prices for just okay food. I can't justify coming back here when there's much better tacos available nearby at a more reasonable price point.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Dinah S.National City, CA01922Dec 10, 2022
A friend recommended this place. This was our first time eating here. We had the Huevos Rancheros, a Carne Asada burrito, a Machaca burrito and an Adobada burrito. All of them were very good, including the rice and beans. This spot is definitely my new go to place when I am in the area.
