Awesome Mexican restaurant here on Kingsley Ave. lots of parking here today Friday at around 5:00 pm. Not too busy.
Cool front host, professional and friendly. Got us seated right away. Our waitress, Jazlin (Hopefully I spelled it correctly). She was quick, friendly, attentive, and very kind.
Excellent recommendations from here. The quality and the quantity of the plates here are good. Plenty of food for the price you pay.
We also really enjoyed the scene here, very nice vibe, and cool decoration.
Overall, amazing experience today. We'll have to come back here again before going back to California!Helpful 9Thanks 1Love this 6Oh no 1 - Dec 4, 2023
Nice big place, plenty of seating and a huge menu. Chips n salsa was OK, salsa was kinda plain and chips were good.
We had the sizzling chicken fajita, the other fajitas on menu are not sizzling when brought to table. The fajitas were really plain tasting, big portion. The rice n beans were good. The service was outstanding. Thank YouHelpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1 - Ada O.Westside, Jacksonville, FL01Apr 12, 2024
This was by far the most horrible food I have ever had! I have had bad food and I've never left a review because I understand that this is someone's livelihood. However this place was terrible! When I was asked if everything was ok and I responded, No, no one asked why. Nothing was good not a thing! Everything was cold, chile rellenos were just cut peppers with slop and cheese thrown on top. The meat on my husband's tacos and my burrito was bad the meat was spoiled. Think before you choose to come to this restaurant . D I S G U S T I N G !! I think I'm sick from eating the little i ate of this spoiled food that I paid for! No star!

The food is ALWAYS great! The Fajita Nachos are my favorite! I do wish this location would be added to Door Dash, Uber eats... etc. I believe they have so much business they no longer do delivery services.

Cinco de Mayo! Very busy but seated quickly. Food took a little longer than usual but not a lot. My tacos were wonderful. Enchiladas were excellent. We were not a big fan of the rice this time but the beans were good. It was quite lively due to all the celebrating. Still a staple go to for me.
Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0Oct 5, 2020Previous reviewUpdate: got take out. I really wanted a taco salad. Got the two mini salads w quesadilla. BAD choice. Corn taco bowl not flour. Was really wanting flour bowl esp since Taco Bell stopped selling their salad. Wish I'd gotten my usual tacos al pastor instead. Luckily my better half did so I took a little of his. The corn taco here is very grainy. I like it as a taco ok, but not with my salad. Quesadilla was ok. Dogs liked it. They were generous with the chicken and beef in the salad. I'll eat in from now on or not at all. So disappointed overall.
Dec 22, 2019Previous reviewLove the tacos al pastor! I dream about them! I always say I am going to try something else but I don't. Kids love chicken quesadilla, mini taco salad, and chicken burrito. Burritos are huge and hubby loves them and enchiladas.

Great food at affordable prices. California burrito can't be beat.

11/15/22. Our book club meets for lunch, whoever picked that months book...picks the restaurant! LaNopalera was picked. It was a good choice; service was friendly, efficient and let us have our space as we talked, talked and talked....

Always enjoy our eating at La Nopalera. Luckily they weren't too busy but it took time to put our order in...not sure why but when we did order... it came out rather quickly. The chips and salsa is always free and good; the margaritas-even better!Nov 28, 2019Previous reviewThis La Nopalera location in OP is almost right across the from hospital on Kingsley Ave. The building had been numerous other things from restaurants to party supplies place but I think La Nopalera has found a permanent home. Even though it seemed parking could be a problem there is a office building that closes early so you park there-no problem. My family, some from here others visiting so we wanted to eat somewhere where the food was good, close to the main house for Thanksgiving and this restaurant hit all the right buttons! It is big and we were able to reserve a room for 25 or so which meant we walked right and were seated (others were waiting). Service was friendly, attentive and accurate. With so many of us there we had several orders including pitchers of margaritas-which Angelia offered to split between us in cost but luckily we all bought pitchers for everyone..lol! The "runners" who bring the piping hot plates out carries around 4 on his one arm (straight out) and then 2 more plates on his other arm..very impressive! They kept the free chips/salsa coming-all and all I think La Napolera has some of the best Mexican food in Jax!
Another note of praise-with two young kids in our group-they brought their meals out quickly so they weren't whining and starved! - Lee S.Largo, FL1562911Aug 18, 2023
The prices for this place were OK. You can have get a meal for 10-15 bucks and it has a lot of choices. However, there's a good amount of flies in the air and the food was tasteless. The beef tasted boiled and the tacos were terrible (didn't know tacos could be bad). Rice and beans tasted like they came out of a can. The Chile relleno tasted pretty good, but was more of a soup. Service was good and fast but way overshadowed by the poor meal.

Third time in a row the food was great, drinks delicious and service on point. I do t know if this changed ownership, management or they just finally started caring again but they've won our business back. I hope they keep it up!

Another great experience all around, gets crowded quickly towards dinner. Had little juice truck outside..
Servers outstanding....Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Apr 1, 2023Previous reviewAnother great experience, mixed fajitas, beverages.
Seated quickly during busy Thursday evening,
Still miss the old location!Dec 3, 2022Previous reviewHaven't been to this restaurant in almost 20 years. They relocated to a larger building (like a Golden Corral), so it changed the whole vibe.
The food is still good, and the portions are great. Be prepared for getting it FAST! ..not a bad thing if you are in a hurry, ..but I prefer a slower pace to enjoy everything during my dining experience. It is beneficial if you are at the hospital though. Service was excellent, wish they had ceviche! Beverages excellent too.
There is ample parking.
