La Taverna is a small pub which typically features live music. The bar offers popcorn and has a beer focus. I suggest trying one of the Spanish brews. The bar does limit the crowds inside which is a big plus once you get in the bar. Expect lines to get in the venue.

Terrible food. Nachos came out soggy and with no fresh ingredients. Didn't realize the New Years menu was a whopping 70€ when I ordered it. Fine whatever. But it was also inedible, the shrimps that came on the salad had gone bad and had to send it back. Not usually one for sending stuff back but the smell was unbearable. Steak that came was ok actually but noooowhere worth 70€. Bacon on a cheeseburger was raw.
Stay away.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jack N.Scottsdale, AZ117452665Sep 20, 2017
While walking around Barcelona, we stumbled upon this place by accident. However, it was a quick and easy decision to go in as the music sounded great and everyone seemed to be having a great time.
Inside we found a great looking bar with booths and tables. After finding a place to sit, we were promptly waited on by a friendly server. They had an great selection of beers to satisfy all tastes.
The music was perfect! Fun, upbeat, popular songs that many danced to, sang along or both.
In fact, we came back each night while in Barcelona. We met people from around the world and enjoyed every minute of it!Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Kelly P.Las Vegas, NV169381383May 31, 2017
A local sports bar in Barcelona - if I could give half stars I would give 3.5. I got the paella which is a mixed paella here (no choice). I believe it was €15. It was pretty good. The mussels and pork were especially good and were my favorite part. It's not my favorite paella but was still really good and I would recommend it. I also got the vina sol white wine which I liked a lot. It was light and refreshing with the seafood in the paella. I watched a huge Barca match here and the atmosphere was fun. It was loud but not rowdy and I would go again to watch a game. If you don't make a reservation go early! We arrived at 7:30pm for a 9pm game and got one of the last not reserved tables.

I'll start with this disclaimer: everything was completely my fault. I should know better than to order from a menu based on pictures, but after days of paella and sangria all we wanted was a burger. Still, American bar food is pretty basic and it pains me to say this, but it looked nothing like the pictures. Soupy hummus, we paid extra for limp celery to slop it up, the burger was some sort of leathery mystery meat, the pasta still tasted like the can, the nachos were salsa-less and soaked in grease. But the salad was fresh and colorful so that was a plus. Oh, and the beer was cold.
But in such a beautiful city with fabulous food I can't believe I was lured in by an English pub front and I ordered from a menu with pictures - my bad!Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Katelynn S.Santa Clara, CA256160292Jan 19, 2018
Great place for a solo traveller to get paella since most restaurants only serve paella for a minimum of 2 people and the paella is excellent too!

Stopped by here after walking around the town not expecting how good this place would be.
Jamon plate was delicious and beers were ice cold.
Music was great and the volume was perfect. We were able to carry conversation without having to yell yet we enjoyed the great selection of the music.
Most of all, it was the service that impressed me the most.
After leaving the bar, the waiter ran out and followed me to hand me the iPhone I left on the table.
He was sincere and very kind.
I would defiantly recommend this place to anyone who visits Barcelona.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Meir B.Tampa, FL03May 24, 2019
