Le Carré Café & Pâtisserie

This has to be the most authentic French bakery we have been to in years.
Outstanding quality with only the freshest ingredients. It reflects in the products. This is truly a hidden gem and everything from their breakfast sandwiches and crêpes to their croissants to their magnificent, rich and decadent desserts are delicious.
The service was attentive and very friendly. Everybody with a smile. We've been back 6 to 7 times and have tried something new each time and the pastry was on point- excellent. Bravo!!

I can't believe this place is in my town. Everything you can eat here is amazing. The croissants were sooooo good. Light and flavorful. I could eat three in a sitting for sure. The quiches are tall but still maintain a lightness to them.

I ended up buying a whole mix of savory breakfast pastries to bring home. All were very satisfying. Perhaps my favorite was the pastry with mozzarella, tomato, and pesto. Terrific.

Oh and don't forget about the desserts. Some of them look extremely complicated to make with intricate sugar work. Most importantly, they taste great.

I hope this bakery stays for a long time.

I went here early on a Saturday morning when they first opened and it was wonderful. As soon as you walk in you are hit with the freshest smell of bread baking and it is intoxicating. The owner Raphael was so incredibly nice, introduced himself to me and explained all the pastries and was just so incredibly personable. I would go back solely because of how lovely he was to me and all the other customers that entered the shop. The shop as a whole is beautifully designed and clean!

I got a few things, 2 kouign amann, chocolate croissant, turkey/brie croissant, almond croissant and a churro cube. Everything was incredibly fresh and tasted like I was eating in Paris. These are truly authentic pastries. The croissants were plush and fluffy and the cube was more like a croissant bread which was interesting in the best ways. The Kouign Amann though was to me the shining star and as soon as I bit into it, the top crackled from the thick sugared glazed coating. The inside of the pastry was fluffy, buttery and so moist. The Kouign is heaven sent. The salt crystals on the top of the pastry also enhanced the entire flavor of the pastry. I legit would go back every week just to have this single pastry as it is truly the type of food dreams are made of, absolutely spectacular.

I will be a frequent customer of this shop moving forward as there is nothing like it in Bergen county and you should too. This place is worth the everything.

We really enjoyed the croissants, cake, and crêpe. So delicious! The croissants are very different than others because the Chef pâtissier uses the butter from France.

I visited the cafe yesterday to get a few desert items for an invitation from very good friends for a dinner event. Knowing that the establishment is everything about quality and the best. I purchased 6 items for us to share and taste as you might say? What happened blew me away. One of our hosts was so excited about the Chocolate Eclair that she claimed it for herself. I had gotten my taste so I knew why she had done that. If you're looking for a special event with friends, go get 1and 1/2 pieces per person put them on plates use a thin sharp knife and cut them into pieces. Pass the plates and you will have a culinary experience like none ever before !!
The delicate desserts are an addiction to your taste buds!

This place is absolutely incredible. You can smell the smell of pastries from outside the door wafting into your nose!

Everything there is fantastic, but I actually went for the viral cube croissant, which believe me was well worth it! They have churro, creen brûlée and so many more, I got there at nine, and there was already a line out the door for these tasty treats!

Such a great addition to the neighborhood! Stopped in after a family trip to Paris and this definitely scratched the itch. The pastries were up to snuff with those we enjoyed in France and the ambiance definitely made me feel like I was back in a Parisian cafe. We ordered the almond croissant, the cube (a Halloween special with raspberry made to look like blood), and a coffee. All were exceptional. I can't wait to go back and try more.

You'll feel the "happy vibe" and smell the delicious pastries the second you enter this beautifully decorated patisserie!
I'm fortunate enough to live in Hillsdale, and I am on a quest to try more of the menu.
The Croissant with ham and cheese, a classic French sandwich, is absolutely the best sandwich out there (my opinion) with the addition of bechemel and delicately warmed.
Take a look in the macaron case.... then try each one. I can't even tell you which one is the best, since they are ALL spectacular.
The staff (esp. MaryBeth) is super cool and friendly, service with a smile!
And if you are REALLY lucky, the chef may even greet you with his signature BONJOUR! His excitement over his creations are as evident as mine.
Love this place.

Wonderful pastries and breads. The turkey and avocado sandwich on a fresh baguette is so delicious. Was a bit chilly dining in but will be perfect now that spring is here. The owner is so friendly and accommodating. Coffee was great too.
