The place is spacious, with plenty of seats. There was no sit down customers when I went but I'd imagine it would be easy to social distance should you decide to eat in.
For the base, they offer brown and white rice, quinoa, as well as mixed green, or you can make it a burrito. There is taco on the menu but I was told they no longer have that. You can get half rice and half green as well, which is usually my go to.
They have the usual standard options of protein, and then toss in your preferred sauce from sweet to spicy, before adding your vegetables and toppings. The regular has 3 scoops so you can try several proteins.
The greens and fish tastes fresh, and like the wasabi aioli, though it's definitely sinus-cleaning. Service is fast and friendly.
This place also serves alcohol, with local beers, half bottle wines, and even sake on tap. They also have bubble tea but in their website pic the color looks rather artificial so I wasn't sure about ordering.
Now, what does the name Lei Kai means? Lei is the Hawaiian flower garland that hula dancers wear, and that is presented to tourists upon arrival on the islands. It is a symbol of peace and harmony. Kai is the Hawaiian name for the sea.
I like that they use compostable bowls instead of plastic. According to their website, they also use local produce and sustainable seafood is from fishermen who adhere to sustainable practices.Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Gustavo R.Miami, FL32418Dec 31, 2022
It's good, decent, okay portions. Service is a little shy i guess, but they are nice.
The ambiance is clean and simple
I give it a 3 star because of the portion size of the proteins, high key was okay with it until my body came up to a smacking $28 with tip
I'd come back if I was really in the mood like I was today for a quick poke bowlHelpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jun 14, 2021
We order 2 large bowls & a kids meal online. Pick up was at 5:05 pm. They hadn't even started the order when we went to pick it up. They also didn't have any white rice. The owner gave us a free chocolate chip cookie, which was amazing, for our time.
Got home and the bowls were fresh and tasty but way too spicy even though we requested the mild dressing. Luckily I had ordered the sweet dressing for the kids meal. The bowls would have been outstanding if they weren't so spicy. My daughter added home made white rice to her bowl to try to temper the heat. It helped.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - J K.Miami, FL04911Mar 5, 2023
Super good bowls and the owner and his wife are really nice too!
They have always had a good rewards program too.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Maria C.Southwest Ranches, FL2403032Jan 16, 2022
We were so excited to try out Lei Kai. You walk down an assembly line and build your bowl as you go. Everything was fresh and tasted delicious. The only thing I would've liked is for the tuna to have been a little more seasoned before being added to the bowl. However we will DEFINITELY be going back!

The portion is so tiny. It's definitely not enough as a meal.
A regular bowl includes 3 proteins, which has very limited choice, unless you pay extra. Each protein is like 3 pieces of salmon..
Their sales tax is 8%, not 7%. Then, they charge another 3.5% surcharge. What is it?
It's my first time to try. Of course, I am not going back.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Quinn V.Miami, FL945Sep 18, 2022
Honestly these reviews are such lies... been going since I started my relationship with my husband. At first it was good but this past year they're good doesn't taste as good nor fresh as it was. Decided to order tuna and ahi tuna and how does the color go from pink to brown in a matter of seconds... they're also serving the tuna brown and nasty colored.. they're online ordering sucks because they don't have anything at the restaurant listed online. No milk tea, no ice cream etc. the food tasted bad lately especially when I ordered today.. rice wasnt fresh and was extremely sticky. Seaweed salad tasted unseasoned and just was gross to eat. Left bad aftertaste and it gave me mercury poisoning. They give you such small proportions for a large bowl. I recommend going to Hawaiian Poke on 107th AVE by FIU. This place sucks. Don't go here.

Last month, my husband and I went there to celebrate along with other family members, my brother's birthday.
The restaurant is clean and the food is delicious. I ordered the tuna bowl and my hubby got the chicken plate.
Overall, I had a good experience and I will back.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Mariel F.Maynila, Philippines194285580Jul 25, 2021
First timer here today and It was very worth it. The service was excellent, ingredients top notch and the bowl was delicious. We ordered 2 pokes with 3 types of protein and added edamame and seaweed. I wish I had a photo but we ate every bit of it in minutes. Highly recommend this place. Also, I want to reiterate the awesome service I was given by the folks at the store today. Kudos to you guys!
