Leo Gutierrez - Swat Flooring

I've hired Leo before. Great experience, great job. Recommended him for 5 years.

Hired him again for another project.
Absolute nightmare. Chased after him for a install date. He finally schedules one only to cancel night before.

Doesn't return calls, ignores messages and I FINALLY get another install date ( this is now 3 MONTHS waiting, because I can understand issues come up)
I hire people to empty my kitchen and the night before install he says he hasn't heard from his guy.
Then stops responding.
Install day rolls around.
No install.
No phone call.
No returning messages.
And my house is torn apart.

I had to get someone else and pay double because of his nonsense.

Never ever ever again.

Yes things happen but just ducking out on people is unprofessional.

I was referred to Leo by a close friend. Called him, took about a week to come by due to his busy schedule. I wanted to have the carpet removed from my upper level/stairs risers installed and wood floors installed. He came over on a Monday 7/25 evening and on Thursday 7/28 was scheduled for the job. His crew was on-time, very professional, quick, and did an AMAZING job. His work is fairly priced and you can't beat the quality of work you get. I would highly recommend him.

Leo and his team did an amazing job on my flooring. His pricing was great and they were able to get me on the schedule in less than a week. They were fast and the work was great. Would recommend them to anyone. He was super friendly and easy to work with.

As a new homeowner and someone who has been working with a lot of home repair contractors as of late, I was pleasantly surprised with not only the professional demeanor but the overall quality of service and workmanship that Leo Gutiereez of SWAT Flooring provided me with when installing my new hardwood floors. To say that Leo was a breath of fresh air in comparison to the other contractors that I have worked with would be an understatement..... here's why:

He was professional (on time, responsive, sensitive to time deadlines, knowledgable about the relevant products), courteous (respectful of customer's personal items belongs and their schedule and even get this - lo and behold - something that every contractor should do but never seems to - he cleaned up after the job was finished!), and did I mention that the final product, my brand new Kensal hardwood floors, right down to the finishings and shoe molding, were as perfect as it gets??? Unlike some contractors, he didn't skip steps or cut corners, he was very detail oriented about the installation of my flooring... - and he will be for yours too!

Finally - and here is the litmus test for anybody you encounter in the buisness world - I would refer him to friends and acquaintances and be happy to do business with him again.

Yesterday we had a call from Leo concerning our scratch on the floor. It seems that he had to take some time off for family matters and was delayed in getting back to us. He and his crew came out this morning and were able to rectify the problems. Our floor now looks much better and we are satisfied.

We had our entire first floor replaced by SWAT Flooring. It was 760 sq feet and required tearing up old carpet and laminate. We were disappointed with the job. One of the kitchen cabinets was damaged and was not secured to the wall. The flooring around and behind the refrigerator was poorly installed. We can see the green underlayment and the old sub-flooring. The shoe molding was not cut accurately. Some of it was too long and some too short. The casings in the interior doorways were cut too high, leaving a large gap between the casing and the floor. This left an overall sloppy appearance.
However, the biggest issue is a large scrape across 10 planks of flooring in the middle of the kitchen floor. The refrigerator had been pulled out from the wall to work around it and when it was pushed back into place there must have been some debris caught on one of the wheels and it left a large noticeable scrape. We thought it was dirt and it would be fine when we cleaned the floor. That night we cleaned it and found that it was a scrape and not dirt. We took pictures of it and sent them to Leo. He promised to come back and fix it. We have left him several messages and it has been more than a month and he has yet to return to fix the flooring.

I counted Mr Gutierrez about 1.5 weeks ago and to give him credit he called very quickly and came out on a Sunday morning I found very impressive. He did all his measurements and we discussed what I wanted done and he said he was fine with the job, I told him if he did me good on this job I would have the upstairs to be done in hard woods within a year and he would have the job, before he left he wrote out what needed to be done on a quote sheet and said I receive the official quote in a few hours, this is where things go downhill. Being a Sunday I didn't expect anything from him and he also needed to get prices and stores were closed so I gave him till Monday for him to send it, waited all day but got nothing so I texted him asking where the quote was, this was late in the evening as he should have been home from work but got no response. Tried several texts and calls on Tuesday with not one return call or text from him, Wednesday morning I get a text from him telling I would get quote via email within 10 minutes waited but nothing so I texted him to let him know nothing was received, never got a response so I called and got voice mail left message. Was finally able to reach him later in the day and he said he did not know what was wrong with his email I told to just cut & paste to text and send to me, what I got was a text was a price breakdown for he job, at this point I was getting frustrated but I accepted the price quote and told him so, he asked in another text when we could meet at the store to choose the product I suggested the next day and asked him what time was good, this was the last I heard from him. This past Thursday I left him a voicemail letting him know how I felt and if I did not hear back from him by last evening he was obeying let go and I would look for another contractor, what a shock never heard from him.
