Hubs was chatting at work about how he has given up his quest to find a decent burrito and is now trying to find the best tacos since we moved from Southern California, and someone mentioned this place.
So he swung by on a Sunday and grabbed a big thing of fresh corn tortillas, and a big package of their piping hot barbacoa, along with the diced onions and cilantro, and their salsa verde.
I didn't even think I liked corn tortillas, but apparently I did not like BAD corn tortillas. This place has completely changed me. I am now a fan.
The tortillas are so ridiculously good and fresh, and when you pair it with the juicy barbacoa... Magic happens! It was AMAZING!!!!! If you are nearby, you should definitely try it. Have a recipe in mind to use the rest of the tortillas, or a friend to split them with though, because they give you a massive stack and it is a shame to waste such delicious and fresh tortillas.Helpful 2Thanks 2Love this 2Oh no 0 - Kristen H.Richmond, VA17054749Nov 17, 2009First to Review
Note: not a restaurant (no tables) or a bakery, it's a tortilleria, but it probably wouldn't hurt to ask if they have other foods for sale.
3.5 stars. I'm so sad that they only do corn tortillas. Why? why? why??? Anywho, the corn tortillas are good and cheap. I'm pretty sure they're even cheaper than the store. They have different sizes and they get them to you piping hot. For those who are curious, these are the thin tortillas, like you see in the store, not the thick ones typically used in Central American cooking.
The place is a bit hard to find. Drive into the plaza and turn left (past Food Lion and toward coin laundry) and continue toward Snow White Cleaners, then drive past, turning right, that toward Tasty's Chicken and on the opposite side, a little further down, you will see the tiny sign for Tortilleria Los Comales. It's on the back side of the plaza.

It's a good place I went there you can buy tortillas, tortilla chips ,and tostadas and there fresh made every day so that's good I don't want to eat them if they were days old and in the morning everyday they make fresh warm tortilla and every Saturday's and Sunday's they make BBQ it's also good try it out and if there are any restaurants that would like to try the tortillas to go ahead you can customize they tortilla to your liking
