M43 Burger Bar-BQ

The food doesn't live up to the cool ambience but is still good enough. Prices for the burgers are a bit high in my opinion though. The Kalifornia Burger , a chicken burger with the tortilla breaded chicken wasn't as tasty as it sounds. But still a cool idea. Would love to have tried out the cereal breaded one as well. The regular beef pattie tasted better in my opinion. The burger buns where okay.
The fries are regular boring fries which was dissapointing in a way. On the other hand they where good boring fries.
The cole slaw was good.
A cool touch was getting free popcorn while waiting for the food to arrive.

As good a German hamburger as we've found...which admittedly is not a great compliment. Overall the fam ate ok for less than most of the local places (big deal with 5 people traveling) and other than the apparent lack of mustard [I thought that was german by origin??] and the lack of pickles, we were good. The curly fries are not Arby's quality, but the regulary fries "pommes" were really good.

I am always looking for a good burger in town so we gave this place a chance. The menu looks really good with many different types of burgers from the classics to the specialty burgers or "VIB" (very important burgers). There is also chili and pulled pork sandwiches and other USA-inspired dishes (tailored to German tastes).

The burger I had came on a nicely toasted bun, which was a good sign. The patty was quite thin, but for the price, it was perfectly fine or as they say in German, der Preis/Leistungs-verhältnis stimmt. The cheese was not the right cheese for a cheeseburger. When one gets a cheeseburger, usually there is a choice of cheese (z.B. Swiss/Emmentaler, Gouda, or Cheddar). But it looked like nacho or perhaps Velveeta cheese and oozed out everywhere. I ate it with my fries, but it was a little sloppy on a burger. Speaking of fries, they were crispy and perfectly cooked but unfortunately a bit cold by the time they arrived at the table.

Music: perfect
Décor: needs improvement (the posters covering the ceiling is a little too much) and the tables are shaky (although conceptually cool)
Drinks: good selection
Service: friendly but a little slow
Cheeseburger & Pommes (fries): needs improvement
Menu: looks tasty and there are many options

I think what they are trying to do at this restaurant is charming so I will not harshly criticize them based on one meal, rather I will give them another chance. That is why I gave them three stars instead of two. After all, they have carry out (zum mitnehmen) and I took a menu home. I look forward to seeing how they handle barbecue. :)

Ok, I had a craving for a burger and had the "Hey Cowboy" one... It was great. Came with sausage on top... The flavor was fantastic. The atmosphere inside was pretty cool too and they played some good music. If you are in Fussen and don't want the standard German or other food I highly recommend. The staff was friendly too.
