Four of us stop by for early dinner. Staff greeted us warmly and we can pick any table or booth! We have not been here for a while; we noticed the wine cabinet is painted black. This matched very well with the red color wall and black floor tiles.
On Saturday, Mamma Anna has a violinist to provide music while we dine! Amazing, this musician has such resemblance of our former young neighbor, I said, "Hello, Nicolas"! We have special request and enjoyed the music! A wild idea went through my mind, may be, I can rehearse, "O Sole Mio", and sing with him next time! LOL!
We ordered our Chardonnay, Chianti and Peroni beer. Since they serve entrée with huge portion, we skipped the appetizer and just order House Salad. The Balsamic dressing is unique and one of Anna's personal creations. Good drinks and salad. A good way to start!
Our Chicken Parm, Rigatoni alle Vodka, and Tutto Mare - Fra Viavolo are cooked to perfection. Great Tutte Mare with clams, calamari, mussels and shrimp on that al dente spaghetti.
We shared a Tiramasu for dessert. With friendly staff and excellent food, we had another great dinner at Mamma Anna!Helpful 11Thanks 2Love this 7Oh no 1Oct 2, 2021Previous reviewMamma Anna is a family-owned Italian Pizza Restaurant inside the Coconut Point Mall. It is near by the Regal Cinema at the former Amore Brick Oven Pizza with outdoor seating. In fact, a small sign still has the Name Amore Brick Oven Pizza on the wall!
We walked in and staff warmly greeted us and tell us that we can sit on any table we want!
They have a large selection of pizza which is cooked in a brick fired oven and a variety of Italian culinary fares. Beer and wines were available! But I opted for a Pink Lemonade! That was a right decision because the lemonade is so refreshing!
We were served with hot bread and olive/garlic sauce. That was very good! Wife ordered her Chicken Parmigiana with spaghetti. The Chicken Parmigiana is huge, flavorful and the spaghetti is cooked with homemade Marinara sauce. My first instinct was Pasta Primavera with sauteed broccoli, spinach, artichokes, mushrooms, olives, and asparagus over spaghetti. I switched to Tutto Mare at the final moment. According to the menu, it consists of clams, mussels, shrimps and scallops sauteed in white wine sauce or Marinara sauce. What I got was clams, mussels, shrimps and calamari ring but no scallops! The clams were little small in size and I bypassed several as they were not opened! However, it was tasty and sauteed well! Noticed it has a little heat which was perfect for me!
We shared a Tiramisu which is absolutely delicious! You can taste the ladyfingers dipped in coffee, layered with Mascarpone cheese and cocoa flavor.
The servers are friendly and attentive! Overall, this is a nice dinner other than the problem with clams and scallops! - 18135268Mar 9, 20241 check-in
This Trattoria/Restaurant is a super easy 5 star rating. SUPER EASY! Went with my Dad, wife, my two kids (my wife's three - she includes me) sat outside on a Thursday night, and this place did not disappoint, it excelled! My reviews need some order, so here we go, let's try this: waitstaff, food, ambiance, price point, final point(s):
Waitstaff: Fantastic. We were served by the owners son who literally told us what his Mom was cooking tonight, and he provided excellent recommendations. He clearly knew many guests as the tables around interacted with him, tried to get him to try wine they brought in, and created a generally fun/family style experience. When my server was busy, others picked up and covered for him. It allowed for a very pleasant guest experience
Food: Outstanding. The bread was warm, and they provided a beautiful pesto (lots of garlic, warning to some, winning for others (I get it, that's personal taste)). We ordered a Buffalo Mozzarella D.O.P. which was a joy to share with three adults, 2 orders of Linguini Vongole, a Pizza, Spaghetti w/ Meatball, and my favorite, an order of their Veal Saltimbocca. Pictures provided, the food was excellent. Of note, the sauces they use are similar in appropriate entrees. As example, the white wine sauce in my Saltimbocca was similar to the Vongole with exception to the protein flavorings (I.e., the definitely used the clam juice in the Vongole, as expected).
Ambiance: I enjoyed eating outside, albeit, I never walked inside, but it might need some work. I read reviews that they need to dim down the inside lights, and quiet violin night. The lighting inside appeared strong, and my Dad said he won't go on violin night because it is too loud. I don't have personal knowledge to either one; outside was nice.
Price Point: Fair! $20 uncorking fee, menu is fairly priced for the quality you receive. I'd argue that they don't charge enough for the Buffalo Mozzarella D.O.P. Appetizer as there is no way the ingredients they are using are 1/3 of cost (restaurants typically seek 1/3 food cost, 1/3 operating cost, 1/3 profit)
Final point(s): Visit. It's a fantastic, family run establishment, that will not disappoint. On another note, I'd also suggest ordering pizza "to-go." It would be different than eating in, but I bet it would be better than just about all of the other options in the area. I'm going to do it the next time I'm in the area.
Final, Final points(s): I may have licked my Veal Saltimbocca bowl, and may have used my finger to get the last drops of the bread pesto bowl into my mouth. I don't mind writing that here, after all, it's not like just anyone can read it, it's super secret, right? LOL ;)
Enjoy!Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - 08410Mar 11, 2024
Good food and service at a reasonable price level. A nice outdoor dining area too. Our table had veal shank, risotto, saltimbocca, carbonara, spaghetti with clams and chicken parmigiana. Everyone was happy with their main dishes. The veal was tender and the portions were a reasonable size.

We have been regular customers , enjoying the food and the service since the restaurant opened.
We did take out last night and when I arrived home and opened the containers, we saw we had received food that we did not order.
I rang the restaurant and received a muted apology with no clear and direct solution offered .....other than
than asking me who gave me the meal ( I have no idea) and that they might be able to redo my order but he first had to find and ask someone else......
I felt like preferred to do nothing.
Very disappointing and not what we have experienced before.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1 - Dec 9, 2023
Ordered food to go from Mamma Anna's and was very impressed. I had the spaghetti alla puttanesca and the meatball appetizer. I can say, at least in the United States, this was the best preparation of a pasta puttanesca I've had. So flavorful and the fresh capers put it over the top. The meatballs were also very good and enormous. There was an astronomical scoop of ricotta cheese served on the side which was also great. Even for just a to go order, the service was outstanding. Everybody was incredibly personable and friendly and made you feel welcome. I'll definitely come back when business brings me back to Fort Myers and I'll recommend to all my friends and colleagues as well. 10/10!

We heard wonderful things about this restaurant and went with friends who had been there before.
What a disappointment!!
The service was absolutely horrible!
We waited an hour for appetizers and one hour and 45 minutes for our dinners to arrive! Someone in our party ordered a pizza which was delivered dried out as it was reheated!
We asked to speak to the owner. She came to our table with a terrible attitude, rude, and yelling at us! She could care less that we were unhappy.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Marty S.Estero, FL3159167Oct 27, 2023
Visited Mamma Anna Trattoria and was absolutely blown away by the experience! The appetizers du jour were so substantial and scrumptious, my wife and I felt as if we were indulging in entrées! Service was top-notch, making us feel warmly welcomed and attended to throughout our meal. The prices were also very reasonable, adding even more value to an already impeccable dining experience. Highly recommend!

I had shrimp and mushroom risotto and i was left speechless. The bread with oil and pesto before the meal was the best i have ever tasted. GO HERE u will love it. But its not cheap so bring ur wallet. Way worth it though.
