Great place and great service!! A "must go" when visiting Bardstown/nearby distilleries. The food is very heavy comfort food but so delicious. Family owned and friendly people making sure that we are taken care of. We went for much but everyone in Louisville raves that we must go there for breakfast and their bourbon pancakes.
The statue of Peepaw in the men's bathroom scared the hell out of me cuz it's super creepy but made me LMFAO .Helpful 1Thanks 1Love this 1Oh no 0 - Jan 12, 2024
We got here early enough on a Sunday to get a table right away. We were celebrating a birthday, there were just 3 in our party. They have a western, back home country décor through out the dining were sat at, they even had a cute miniature front porch display.
The menus were newspaper with stories on them.
We all got coffees, they give you a cup of individual creamers & sugar packets.
I ordered the bourbon bon pancakes and the others ordered the Ribeye steak (medium done) & eggs & the breakfast bowl in a skillet.
It took a while for the food to come out, that we got a refills on our coffees & I got a water. When the food came out, first thing we noticed my pancake was massive & the ribeye steak was cooked to well done. We didn't complain since we were hungry. The bourbon-bon pancake was good & thick for its size, you can find some bites of bourbon flavor & the cinnamon crispy, just too overly sweet for me with the amount icing on it. When our waitress came around ( they started getting busy & she was the only one in our area) I ordered the loaded hash brown which didn't take long to come out, it was okay for me it was alot of onions, basic American cheese & like frozen hash brown Pattie's cut into 4 small pieces. Overly it was a good experience & the food was decent.
If you are watching your budget it not necessarily pricey but about $16 for one massive pancake & $6 for a small basic loaded hashbrown has me questioning if I will return or not.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Dec 22, 2023
We were in town for a bourbon trail weekend, and heard from numerous sources to stop in at Mammy's as a must stop. We got there early (around 5pm) and put our name in, and still had close to an hour wait. We looked around the little rustic gift store and found a few rocking chairs to kill some time.
Once seated, it took about another hour to get our food, and the table was getting a bit restless. The food was good, but didn't quite live up to the hype, and a few people's were cold (but we didn't want another long wait). We did order a couple pieces of pie to go, and they were really good.
All in all, Mammy's food and atmosphere was solid, but the wait dampened an otherwise nice visit.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Dec 7, 2023
We came for breakfast and sat at the bar. The server was nice, but either she forgot to put our orders in, or the kitchen was short-staffed. We waited longer for our food than we should have. It was approx. 45 minutes.
I ordered an omelette with rye toast. I wanted tomatoes added to the omelette, and assumed the toast would be buttered. No tomatoes, and my cold toast was not buttered. A shame because I was looking forward the rye toast.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - 8254181Mar 23, 20241 check-in
Good comfort food but nothing real fancy. I was disappointed that the patty melt didn't have any fried onions. I am not sure it should called a patty melt without that.

Mammy's is a local "diner" type place that serves good ole Southern comfort food. The restaurant has a barn-like feel decorated with memorabilia of the history of the restaurant and many Southern accents.
Mammy's gave me the opportunity to finally try the infamous Kentucky Hot Brown. I ordered their Baby Hot Brown which is a smaller version of the traditional hot brown. The Baby Hot Brown was still a fairly large portion. The hot brown is a knockoff of a Welsh rarebit. It is an open faced ham and turkey sandwich that is topped with a creamy Mornay sauce and sliced bacon. It was very flavorful, tasty, and rich. I don't think I would have finished a full portion!!
Service was friendly and good. Food is delicious down home cooking. They offer both outdoor patio and indoor dining. They also have a full bar. I would definitely recommend this popular place when visiting Bardstown.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Dan C.Sparks, NV126531107Mar 10, 2024
Visited from out of town, my experience at the local Mammy's kitchen was pleasant overall. The service was decent, with attentive staff ensuring our needs were met promptly. The prices were reasonable, providing good value for money. One standout feature was quick seating. Plenty of outdoor parking available, which made it convenient to access. While the food was satisfactory and made to order, it didn't particularly stand out. There was a wide range of tourist and locals which to us was good to know locals frequent also. Nonetheless, the combination of decent service, affordability, and ample parking makes it a solid choice for a casual meal.

We were on a tour along the Kentucky Bourbon Trail, primarily heading through the cute village of Bardstown, and our tour guide led us to Mammy's Kitchen & Bar for lunch. The kitchy, local spot was adorned with fun, Southern accents that created a barnlike atmosphere. The menus looked like newspapers, and the staff was friendly and welcoming. When it came to the food, it was very much standard American pub fare. I ordered the Grilled Chicken Sandwich, adding toppings of honey mustard and sautéed mushrooms. The hearty sandwich was served on a soft, fluffy roll, and the toppings really helped add flavor to the otherwise basic chicken breast. A pickle and handful of crispy potato chips came on the side. These chips definitely appeared homemade, rather than something out of a bag. They were great!
Mammy's Kitchen & Bar was a cozy, casual, and approachable spot that made for a traditional Southern lunch for us visitors.Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - Britney F.KS, KS273115Apr 26, 2024
