After reading the reviews, we decided to give this place a try. We went a little early hoping that it wasn't too busy. Well we called that right. We we got there, there were only another couple there. By the time we left, there were people waiting outside to get in.
The night we went, there were plenty of helpful, happy servers. Our server was very attentive and kept our glasses full.
The sushi rolls that we order were fresh and tasty. I did notice that there was only one sushi chef while we were there. He stayed busy and I'm sure he was like that all night.
Overall, we had great service and awesome sushi rolls. We would definitely be back.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - 172491319Nov 23, 2020
Master Joes in Fairhope has always been one of our favorite restaurants. His Orange Beach location is every bit as good. It's located on Canal Road right next to Sams across from Walker Key. And it's quite a bit bigger than MJs in FH or Shanghai Cottage, but about on par with Wok By D'Bay.
And our meal was delicious. I recommend the Black Pearl Roll and the Crab Rangoon. Great execution, great service and freshness add up to superb sushi and a great experience!

This place was a great surprise during my trip to the beach. It's on a back road, so without Yelp I wouldn't have known about it. Thanks so much, my fellow Yelpers!!
It's large, clean, tastefully decorated, and there was no wait.
The service was EXCELLENT! The man who seated us, took our orders, and waited on us for our entire visit was very helpful - he answered all of our menu questions. We never had an empty water glass and our dishes were cleared as we used them. He was friendly and made us feel totally at home.
Now for the food - SOOOO GOOD!! I had a tuna and Avocado salad and it was perfect. The girls had various rolls and split a seaweed salad. They loved everything they had. My mom went with a grilled chicken plate of some sort and raved about it.
I'll definitely return on my next trip to Orange Beach.Helpful 7Thanks 0Love this 4Oh no 0 - Tony J.Birmingham, AL30701Jul 24, 2021Updated review
Lived in Orange Beach about 2 years and eat out several times per week. Dined here a few months ago and was not impressed but last night we decided to try it again.
Sadly this place is even worse. The service is bad -- even though a "volunteer" bar tender did the best he could. The food took forever and when it got there it was average at best. We had the Bama Roll and a Chicken Teriyaki type dish. The sushi was decent but far better can be had at other local places. The chicken was chewy and not spiced well. It was suppose to come with a soup or salad but that didn't arrive.
This place is off our dining list and recommend for you to look elsewhere as well. It is a poorly run and staffed restaurant and the service/food suffers.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Nov 5, 2020Previous reviewWe are here last week and was very excited since their Fairhope had such a great reputation. We eat sushi frequently here at Big Fish and Jellyfish so plenty of choices in our area.
We arrived at the end of the night and the service was good (sat at bar). However we were disappointed in the sushi. The sushi tasted a bit "rubbery" and the rice was not packed tight enough so it fell apart when it was picked up. We left several pieces on the tray as it just did not look appealing.
So maybe this poor quality was because this place recently reopened, we arrived near closing or just caught them on a bad night. Whatever the case I would not recommend this place. - 44525937893Jan 19, 2020
This is only the second sushi joint I have ever eaten at in the Orange Beach, Gulf Shores, Foley area. Generally I have not had anything above average in my sushi explorations thus far in this area and this time was no different. The night I visited it was quite crowded and this joint seems to be VERY popular with the area high school crowd. So it took a little wait to get seated and then after ordering it took a LONG wait to get my simple order of two rolls. The rolls looked really nice but they didn't really deliver much on the flavor side. Granted this place was crazy crowded on my visit so perhaps that impacted the situation but I actually went and ate a second dinner after leaving here at another restaurant instead of ordering more sushi as the wait for the food and the flavor of it was just underwhelming.

I went here for lunch, it was ok. I wouldn't say it was the best sushi I've had but it was fine. The interior decor is a bit confusing it seems to be fighting itself between being a seafood restaurant and Asian inspired decor. My family and I had the calamari for an appetizer. I find that fried calamari is a good gauge on how the rest of the meal will taste. The calamari was rubbery and the batter coating didn't feel like it was a good combination to be on calamari. My daughter had a kids chicken and the fried vegetables were good in a Japanese panko batter which seemed to a better fit for the calamari. The sushi was ok, again, the California rolls did not have fish roe or avocado. My wife, son and I had sushi combo. It was a bit pricey at $14.95 for a sushi platter consisting of a California roll, 3 pieces of sashimi and 6 pieces of fish, it was decent but not what I would call a deal.

We came for lunch and the service was speedy and the sushi was so fresh. We sat at the sushi bar and the chef made us an amazing salad as we waited.

This is the best sushi on the island hands down.
I go there 2 - 3 times a week and am happy every time.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Linda F.Nashville, TN23824Aug 13, 2021
Very good and creative sushi menu, very short staffed but who they have are very friendly and personable but don't be in a hurry, just go, be patient and enjoy the food experience.

Good sushi. Wasn't crowded even in the middle of the booming tourist time. That could be because of its location. Sushi and Sake was what we were looking for and exactly what we got.
