A scooter isn't just a way to get from point A to point B -- it's a ride that lets you enjoy the journey. Living in the moment with no separation from the scenery and the road is what a ride on a scooter is all about. At Metro Scooter, we love sharing the joy of that ride with others. Thanks to our comprehensive understanding of scooters and their care, we're able to provide, not just a comfortable shopping experience, but maintenance and service throughout the life of your bike. We look forward to welcoming you to the Metro Scooter family and introducing you to the fun of the ride. See you on the road, Cincinnati!

Got my SYM HD200 from them a few years back. Love it and love them. It was a nice buying experience - insanely knowledgeable and personable staff took us n00bs and brought us up to speed and helped us pick the best ride for us. Seth took my wife and I over to a big parking lot to get the basics and learn how to ride the thing before setting us free into the wilds of Cincinnati where people do whatever they want on the road. (We also took the the state's motorcycle class later on, which was actually really fun and well done.)
They've always been good on support for me as well. Blew my rear tire while out riding once and they came and picked it up, filled my tire and got me back on the road. Any time I change tires (Intentionally) I have them mount it to the wheel for me for a small charge - usually same day, which is hella-easier than trying to wrestle it on myself.
As far as some of the mediocre reviews I've seen on here... I would counter that it's a small, family-owned business. On this scale, you can't be all things to all people or service any random knock-off scooter who's parts are near impossible to find. There's a reason they're dirt cheap. This is still a fairly niche market and it's difficult enough getting support and parts for the brand-name stuff. I've had to turn to Metro a few times when my extensive internetting yielded nothing and they've always been helpful.
I can tell you that what they do, they do well and everyone there has been great to us.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Liz K.Wyoming, OH043Jan 9, 2023
Their service was phenomenal. I recently bought an electric scooter from them and their staff, especially Bruce, went above and beyond making sure my buying experience was good and that I got home safely with it my first day. I would highly recommend them if you're in the market for a scooter.

I am always a little apprehensive when entering a business that I'm not all familiar with but there was no reason to feel that way in this case. I walked in and was immediately made to feel welcome. I had the pleasure of working with Jon while taking a look at what they had in stock. In truth, I had already picked one out and my plan was to go to the shop to see it in person and then base my purchase decision on the overall feeling I got from the shop and the folks working there. I had no reservations whatsoever in paying a deposit to hold my new Piaggio. Give Metro Scooter your business, you won't be disappointed!

Never had an easier time buying a vehicle. I simply called her number and put a down payment to reserve the bike since I live pretty far away. They help me find the bike for me, give me a lot of information to get the most out of it and help with repairs on older bike that normally don't service.I like them so much but I'm willing to drive an hour one way to use their services. If you ever need anything repaired or a new bike they would be the first ones I would ask.

This is a beautiful shop with friendly, enthusiastic staff. The owner, Seth, is very passionate and knowledgeable about both scooters and bikes. It's clear that he loves his work and really knows what he's talking about. Definitely worth a visit.

March 2015 - I had all intentions of writing a review defending Metro after reading the other reviews on here. I've stopped in a few times over the years when pondering buying a Genuine Buddy or Stella but I've always ended up picking up something older and cheaper instead.
I recently called to inquire about a fuel tap gasket for a 1979 Vespa P200E. The response "we don't work on vintage bikes" I'm not sure what constitutes vintage but I do find it rather strange that they will only service modern scoots when the Stella is essentially an Indian Vespa PX. Oh well.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1 - Paul D.Hyde Park, Cincinnati, OH54Jun 2, 2020
A real gem in Cincinnati. Bought a Vespa 6 years ago. Service is awesome. Seth keeps updating inventory with different types of scooters, motorcycles, and now bikes. I almost made the mistake of buying a foreign scooter off the internet to save a few hundred bucks. Don't do that - you've been forewarned. Metro Scooter is a happy place and will add to your experience!

There isn't *really* a war between motorcycle heads & scooter fans. There is a continuum, like the Kinsey Scale. A few people are completely straight, and some rare people will *only* ride scooters, but most of us are somewhere in the middle, and daydream about 2-wheeled vehicles that are cool *and* cute.
The buyers at Metro Scooter seem aware of this fact, to a point. You can buy a Vespa, a Genuine, a Stella (which shifts, but on the handlebars), and a Taiwanese version of that classic of fence-sitting motorized cycles, the Honda Cub. It's called a SYM Symba, and you shift it with your foot like a motorcycle, but you don't have to clutch. You can also buy many lesser-known gems, like my trusty SYM HD 125. And you will be given reliable, precise guidance on the benefits and riding style of each.
But Metro Scooter won't sell *all* motorized vehicles that are called scooters by their manufacturers, even if they have the capacity to. Ask them for something called a Sachs Madass. It is a 120cc, 2-wheeled motorized cutie -- a scooter by European standards -- and they could easily order you one from an importer. But they won't. I know because my boyfriend wanted to pay them to.
Why would they choose not to make money? I don't know. They claim to have had some unpleasant dealings with the importer. But their primary US dealer had only good things to say about Cobra, which made this story seem unlikely.
Maybe Metro Scooter doesn't want to sell something that is classified as a motorcycle in the US. Or maybe it's because the Madass is a tuner magnet, and tuners make work for their retailers. Whatever their reason is, it must be a good one, because if passers-by are any indication, the Madass would sell faster than any bike they actually offer. My boyfriend gets stopped at least twice per scoot by strangers of all colors, in all walks of life. ("That looks FAST! Is it fast?") I, meanwhile, ride a larger but otherwise more traditional looking scooter which Metro Scooter keeps on the shop floor at any given moment, and I've never had a stranger ask a single question about it. Although it doesn't look it, my scooter is faster than the un-tuned Madass. I still think they might better use their floor space to sell the Madass.
If you already own a scooter and need to have it repaired, don't call Metro Scooter unless they sell your make and model. The beau was also deflected in an attempt to pay them to replace a valve that required a tool he didn't have (or to borrow their tool). Their Symba has the same Lifan motor as his Madass, but they flatly refused to help.
Cincinnati is a small town, scooterwise, and my dear boy didn't have a lot of options after they turned him away. He ended up fabricating his own, makeshift tool (and being a total grump all night).
If you are new to the scooting world, however, Metro Scooter will be a good guide. They are maniacally cautious, so take your written motorcycle test first (so that you have a temporary endorsement), and don't be surprised if there is an employee right next to you every second of your test-drive. But make use of him: ask lots of questions. He is probably very knowledgeable.
And don't forget to ask about the Madass!Helpful 4Thanks 1Love this 0Oh no 0
