Beware, he's a touchy grumpy old man. Called and asked for an estimate on making kitchen cabinet doors. Seemed nice enough and came over the next day with his wife. Sat down with him and wrote down all of his estimates for each door-giving us an estimate on the higher end until we could email him with the specs. So far so good. We email him our specs and he gives us a contract price that was 53% higher than what he estimated when he came over. wha?? so we call and email him back asking him about the price differential, attaching the spreadsheet with the numbers HE gave us. Jim Mitchell did not appreciate that. He emailed us back an incoherent rant about how he could never go down that low and that he doesn't want to work with us and to withdraw his name from the bidding process. No big deal really, but It was a massive waste of our time. I already have 2 kids at home. I don't need to manage tantrum-y contractors too.

We love Jim and think he is great. He's done a couple of pieces for us and we have recommended friends to him. His prices are very reasonable and he will copy stuff we see out of Pottery Barn for half the price. (plus it is made from wood, not particle board) He is always a great guy when we deal with him. He is an older man that could be grumpy but it is definitely not who he is.

What a disaster this place is, he ran 14 weeks late on a job, then jacked up the price !
