About the Business
Miya is a third-generation family owned business, importing Japanese tableware and gifts since 1947. As a family business, we have always cherished warm gatherings of family and friends, but it seems more meaningful now in today's fast paced environment. Taking the time to share stories, food, and love is invaluable -- whether it is over a home cooked gourmet meal, takeout from your local restaurant, or even a quick bowl of cereal. If you're on your own or taking time for yourself - every meal or snack should still be enjoyed to the fullest. Food is the ultimate expression of love, so why not use tableware that you love too? Our flagship store, Miya Table & Home in Palmer Square, offers accessible Japanese design for all stages of life. Beautiful. Simple. Fun. That's Miya.

I absolutely adore the shop.
I had a hard time choosing between all the Japanese imported bowls, ohashioki.
I have a nice collection of chopstick holders and I definitely can't resist whenever I see them!!
I also love the stationary !
The artwork was so beautiful! ((How can I resist!! ))
It's a very nice store and I can't wait to come back - Jun 4, 2022
Love the plates and bowls here. I've picked up so many at this point and I always use them to elevate my cooking! I feel like I could put anything on these plates/bowls and it will instantly taste better. I also like that most of these are dishwasher and microwave safe too!
Only issue is that since these are high quality Japanese dinnerware, they are not cheap in price. They are also not great at having everything in stock, but you can put in an order at the checkout counter, and they will contact you when it's available in store!Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - Jun 3, 2022
What a cute store. I drink a lot of tea and have a pretty extensive mug and cup selection at home. I love places like this were I can find the rare, authentic, unique and adorable pieces to round out my collection. Are you looking for a unique gift for someone and don't want the typical run of the mill stuff.... maybe give Miya a try. You are bound to find not only a special gift but a card to go with it. Shops like this little gem are what make Princeton a special place to visit. This is a small business not some big name that you will find in every town across the country and that makes them special. One will spend a lot of time looking, touching, feeling and browsing in this cute little shop, so give yourself plenty of time to enjoy.

This is my go-to place whenever we go to Princeton campus for a walk! Miya Table has a lot of authentic Japanese dinnerware & drink ware (Made in Japan!)
The store is spacious and neat, I always find myself spending half hour there during each visit lol...
Since the products here are imported from Japan, the price point is $10-15 for small plates/bowls, $15-25 for larger plates/bowls. BUT they are all extremely well-made, pretty, and dishwasher safe.
If you are a matcha lover, they also sell matcha bowls and matcha whisk.
If you are looking for gifts for friends that love cooking & plating, this will be a good place to pick gifts!
Note: there are two parking garages nearby & metered parking.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Saroasha E.Sugar Land, TX26207447Mar 14, 2021
Love this store. They have authentic Japanese crockery. The store manager helped us in picking out nice gifts + a sushi plate, sauce bowl and chopstick holders for us. Most of the things are made in Japan. Great quality! Fun store! Will definitely come back for more.

We have been using Miya products for years. Not only are the bowls pleasing to the eye but positively influences the experience of the food we eat :) These bowls are super durable as we wash them at least once a day in the dishwasher with detergent pacs , sometimes twice, for the past three years and they have still retained that high gloss finish. Some of the other "made in Japan" tableware we have bought at Home Goods have developed a matte finish (from the finish breaking down) inside the bowls and cups which had to be thrown out.
We just gave a set of the boulder mugs for a friend's house warming party and was a huge hit. Actually, our other friends, who also had a house warming just two weeks prior, asked us to return their gift of the Jo Malone candles for the same mugs.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Lori M.Chicago, IL072Nov 24, 2021
This store is a must visit! Every time I go there is something new and unique. Items in this store can not be purchased at the local mall. Definitely my favorite!!!

i was there for just one night during my business trip to princeton. and i couldn't walk away after i saw this store. everything was so delicate, most handmade crafts with strong japanese style. i like all the products and bought many even tho i just have a small carry-on suitcase with me. the big fish shape welcome soup smells so good and looks really cute. i couldn't buy any bowls at that time but they are just awesome.. strong recommended!
