Being from the US- I can confidently the American pancakes are NOT American (100% sugar free and served oddly lukewarm?). When we came here we were looking for a sweet pancake, but even with the chocolate sauce and berries this didn't do it for me. Also, had a problem with the temperature we received the dish at. The "Me, Myself and I" (scrambled eggs & cheese on toast) was really solid. The eggs were great and the bread was quite delicious especially with the olive oil and salt. I think if you go here the toasts outdo the pancakes.

My visit to MOAK was actually a Plan B, when the restaurant I planned to visit had no availability for hours. But it all worked out.
Service at MOAK was friendly, helpful and efficient. I probably put my server on the spot when I asked about his favorite pancake. What I chose was jam-packed with fresh fruit, chocolate, cinnamon and peanut butter. A friend described it as "decadent". OK then.
The vibe of the restaurant is a comfortable mix of modern and historic. I would definitely return to try more of the menu.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - May 12, 2023Updated review
I returned 3.5 years later and sadly the vegan pancakes are not as good. They've changed the recipe so that they feel much more rubbery -- last time they were much fluffier and less sweet. I was sad to see that the Vegalicious (hummus, avocado and bell peppers) is no longer available vegan; only the sweet pancakes can be done vegan. So my wife got the Ice Ice Baby, and I got the Blue Magic Deluxe (€13.50). The portions were enormous, each coming with 3 large, heavy pancakes, and plenty of fruit. My wife's pancake came with a scoop heavily saffron-inoculated pistachio ice cream. Unfortunately, as mentioned, the texture of the pancakes just aren't great -- rubbery, chewy and lacking fluffiness. I wouldn't recommend the place at this point.

I got the veganicious pancakes, a savoury one with hummus, avocado and grilled peppers. Delicious! It came a while to come out but it's prepared carefully. Friendly service. Recommended very m

Heard about this place on social media. I was visiting the country and decided to try. The place was really cute with cute areas for selfies. Amsterdam is known for its pancakes. The menu had a variety of pancakes with an array of toppings that were odd to me. The pancakes were sugar free so I was not a fan. At all. They were soft and would've been tasty if sweet. The bacon was very good. Mimosas were great. Staff was friendly.

Popped in here and got our fill! This spot is definitely serving hearty portions, which was appreciated as we were STARVING. I loved my pancakes that were a mix of savory and sweet - the ones with cheese and onions may seem weird, but it was actually awesome. Don't sleep on that one. My husband loved his avocado toast. The vibes are fun and the outside line actually moved quite quickly, so don't be too deterred by it. Definitely a great breakfast / brunch spot!

Solid pancakes at MOAK. We got the mancake which comes with bacon (3 slices), cheddar cheese, grilled onion and canadian maple syrup. It was very tasty. It reminded me of the McGriddle- sweet and salty and convenient to eat! We also got a smoke salmon, avocado, and crème fraise toast which was lovely as well.

Amazing & friendly staff, quick service. Such an aesthetically pleasing spot. Very delicious food; we ordered the pink lady and the good morning, with a latte and matcha latte. The matcha was subpar, not sweet and tasted a bit watered down. But everything else was great!

I ordered the Blue Magix Deluxe pancakes. They did not disappoint. Simple and delicious and the maple syrup on top was top notch. The vibes of the restaurant are nice and the wait was not very long. I would just be aware that there are bees outside so if you don't want to share your syrup or honey with bees, sit inside. Overall great experience and staff were friendly and helpful. Would eat here again!

Solid spot for American pancakes, but it could be improved. I got the Good Morning which was a stack of normal pancakes topped with greek yogurt, honey, strawberries, and granola. The pancakes were very fluffy although by themselves lacked flavor. The greek yogurt was plentiful, but that also made the pancakes soggy very quickly. I wish there was more strawberries because I think all the pieces combined equaled one whole strawberry. What was annoying was that maple syrup was an additional cost... I know mine came with honey drizzle, but I much rather prefer maple syrup, but it was extra for something so standard with pancakes.
