Wow, absolutely the best breakfast place I've ever been too!!! I am ashamed to say that when the food arrived, we were so excited that we didn't even take pictures!!! We are from Phoenix Arizona, and I would come all they way back here just to enjoy this top notch breakfast place again!!! Try the ham steak, and the crispy corned beef hash!!!! Actually, ordered a second ham steak!!!

Mulberry Lane Cafe is a hidden (you can easily drive past it) gem located in a somewhat empty plaza off of US-1 in Melbourne, Florida next to a store front that used to be the DMV (where I passed my driving test on the first try many moons ago...but I digress..). They are open for breakfast and lunch and you will not be disappointed if you venture in here for a meal.
My mom treated my fiance and I to breakfast here on a Sunday morning and we were full for most of the day. The decor is simple and clean - wooden tables and chairs with booths lining the shiplapped (thank you for the term, Joanna Gaines) wall - think 1980's. They also have a counter that you can sit at with diner-style stools and we saw many (seemingly) "regulars" having their breakfast with a cup of coffee while chatting up the friendly staff.
A chalkboard of the day's specials is visible when you walk in, but I was distracted by the mountain of homemade bakery treats (ginormous muffins, cinnamon rolls, pies) in the display case next to the cash register.
I wanted to eat everything I saw on the menu, but I stuck with the "double breakfast" - two eggs, two pieces of bacon and two pancakes with some fruit. It didn't take too long for our food to arrive and everything was delicious. The pancakes were dense, yet light and satisfied my sweets craving. My fiance's steak was cooked perfectly (and he's picky about steak) and my mom loved her half-order of biscuits and gravy and side of scrambled eggs. We were too full to try any of the bakery treats, but to the huge chocolate chip peanut butter muffin: I'm coming back for you!Helpful 19Thanks 0Love this 17Oh no 0 - 40815023934Feb 25, 2021
I stopped by for breakfast recently. We were greeted outside and walked into the restaurant where we were offered any open seating. After getting comfy, I ordered some OJ since I had coffee already. The juice was very tasty, not your usual watery juice but alot of flavor.
I ordered the corned beef Hash, eggs, Hash browns, and a half order of biscuits and gravy. The hashbrowns are amazing, obviously homemade and not industry. The eggs were perfectly cooked, as was the hashbrowns crispy goodness. The biscuits and gravy were not my favorite. The gravy was pretty bland and the biscuit just didn't shine under the gravy. I almost wish I tasted the biscuits without the gravy but that wasn't an option.
I will definitely be back and try some more of what they have to offer here.Helpful 5Thanks 0Love this 4Oh no 0 - Jacqueline M.Huntington Beach, CA0241Jan 26, 2023

This place gets 5 stars from me based solely on their homemade corned beef hash. SO GOOD!!!!!
This restaurant is in a strip mall and for now (Covid) they have a table outside and it says to wait outside to be helped. This caused a little confusion as no one was actually at the table and no one came outside to greet us.
The staff was all very friendly and helpful.
All the food was really good. We tried the Monte Cristo, the NY Deli Benedict, and the Caramel Pecan pancakes. The Benedict was hands down my favorite.
We saw someone else got a Reuben sandwich and it looked amazing- will have to go back to try that too!!!!
I loved the variety of items and the interesting items/specials they have.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Amy D.Birmingham, AL04Jul 3, 2023
We stopped on our way to the airport based on the previous Yelp reviews. Y'all were spot on! Very welcoming and engaging staff when we arrived. Our food was hot, eggs were flavorful and the hash browns crispy as promised.

Reviewing restaurants fairly is a hard service to provide. Many times it's super easy to tell what's coming. Thoughtless, uninspired, careless food. Some cooks take crap ingredients and turn them into something great. Some take great ingredients and make something bad. I mention this in long form because I had to come to this restaurant twice to achieve 4 Stars. My first review would have been 2 Stars. However, the food I was served the first time should NOT have been as bad as it was. I literally lost sleep over my first visit here.
All the food was touted as homemade. The server explained even the country fried steak was hand battered and fried. So, I ordered it. She emphasized the corned beef was likewise made to order on premises. Again, I ordered it. Two eggs over medium with hash browns "hand shredded" and a biscuit. The biscuit was FANTASTIC both times. Hence the reason I gave two stars instead of one. The country fried steak was too salty and inedible. The browns were grossly overcooked. The eggs were flat and the hash flavorless. I waited one week and went back.
My thinking is, there is no way this much effort could be put into food and it be so bad. I also had two followers message me and request I try Mulberry.
I decided to re-order the exact same meal. I sat Argus eyed as it arrived. My greatest fears were allayed. I immediately knew the eggs were cooked properly as well as the hash browns. The biscuit, as stated earlier, was magnificent. As I trepidatiously cut into the steak, I was greeted with great joy and happiness at the flavor of the steak. The gravy was spot on and the steak was so savory my mouth is watering again as I speak. 4 Stars? Yes, the corned beef hash was still a failure and I know why. The cook is relying on the potatoes and hash to flavor the dish. However, the punch normally associated with this dish is left on the cook top. Seasoning is missing from the dish. The Big Boy says thumbs up. Give it a try, just avoid the hash. - Sarah T.Houston, TX612May 22, 2023
What a great find! I was recently in Melbourne visiting family . We were looking for a breakfast spot and came across Mulberry a lane Cafe on Yelp. This place is a local casual gem! Really good food. Clearly all homemade & fresh . They have a huge breakfast and lunch menu. Our server was kind and helpful - very attentive. We will definitely be back .

The corned beef hash and packed eggs were perfection, so were the grits. This place was a nice surprise.
