If you weren't tipping at all, maybe you should be?

My wife and I love this place. It's a little out of the way for us, but it's well worth the trip. Food and service are exceptional. We go often.

After a long day of work I wanted to treat myself to some nice yellow curry.
It was the most disgusting food I have ever had. It tasted so old and you could tell the food was not fresh. The rice tasted like store bought uncle bens. The tofu was obviously old and there was no flavor. The service wasn't the best either.
I'm so sad to leave a review like this because the place and decor looked so pretty. But I will never be coming here again. Save your money and go elsewhere. I wish I could get my money back. I wish I never ordered that sad yellow curry.Helpful 0Thanks 1Love this 0Oh no 0 - Feb 18, 2024
Unbelievable. Tried to close our order and pay with card but they force you to tip with card on 18%, 20%, and 25% options, and the payment will "not go through" unless one of those three options is chosen. You cannot tip your own amount or skip the tip. And you don't even know if you will get even moderate service, a hot plate, or just a decent experience overall.
You have to order at the walk up counter, and there is no physical or digital display menu, you have to scan a QR code. And you're forced to tip at this café like establishment? Get real. How unbelievably cheap of the owner that drives away first time customers that will never come back.
Didn't see if it said card only but I'd laugh if paid $20 on a $15 and didn't get any change back.
Fix your policy, fix your attitude. You serve the customer, the customer doesn't serve you. I'll just stick with Salaya down the street.Helpful 1Thanks 1Love this 0Oh no 0 - Sep 29, 2023Updated review
It's been about a year from my last visit. I stopped by for lunch during the week since I was in the area. The shopping center was a tad more rundown than I remembered.
Parking in the lot was easy as it was practically empty.
When we arrived, there was only one other patron in the restaurant. The menu QR code was at the door when we entered. We scanned the code, found a table and ordered. We ordered chicken satay, the chicken burger and the burrito. Everything arrived in a timely manner, was nicely plated, and good portion, and delicious!
Everything else was status quo as I had remembered.
Happy I stopped by. :)Helpful 3Thanks 1Love this 2Oh no 0Dec 7, 2021Previous reviewQuick update:
Placed a big order for delivery. Everything was nicely packaged, in good portion, reasonably priced and delivered in a timely manner. Taste was good but on the "spicy hotter" side. We were bummed they didn't have the Quarter Pounder on the menu anymore. The satay was our favorite this time.

Visited on Father's Day. Plenty of street parking available. Seating was easy as the restaurant was not busy. (I suspect most were doing the bbq thing at home.)
Food was delicious as usual. Customer service was wonderful.
Prices were good.
Overall very consistent with my previous reviews over the years.Apr 24, 2018Previous reviewA gold mine of vegan food!
This was my second visit here. My first visit was about two years ago and it's was great. This visit, on a Saturday at 6pm, was equally as memorable.
My Vegan Gold is located in an outdoor shopping center with a parking lot that is unfortunately all valet. We were lucky and found a metered spot on the street right in front of the restaurant.
The restaurant has a glass front and has an open air feel to it. The interior walls are wood siding, brick, and green paint which give the restaurant a modern, simplistic, and clean feel.
The menu was plentiful in vegan options. So much to choose from it was almost difficult. Our party of five opted for the following items:
Chicken Satay
Drum Sticks
Moo Ping
Shitake Larb
Quarter Pounder w fries
P.E.T.
Chow Mein
Vegan Pho Basil
The food arrived in a timely manner and was plated well. The appetizers were amazing. The entre highlights were the Quarter Pounder with fries and the Chow Mein which were outstanding. The other items were good.
Service was friendly, helpful, and attentive.
As for the restrooms, there are two single user, unisex restrooms. Both were clean, functional, and simple in decor.
This is a wonderful restaurant worth visiting. I will definitely be back to try other menu options. - Elvira D.Glendale, CA138610594631Aug 22, 2023
I love this place so much. My Vegan Gold is honestly where you stroke gold with some really quality vegan Vietnamese food. The Tom Kha soup was perfection with the flavors of lime juice, tamarind, mushrooms, coconut milk, spicy and sour flavors, and the marinated tofu. I absolutely loved the small ornate pot it was served in with shiny gold chopsticks. My friend really liked her food as well, which was the eggplant and delicious rice. My cranberry lemonade has a great sweet and tart taste to it. The service was extremely friendly and well ding and the ambiance was trendy, cultural, classy and casual. Id also say it was fairly relaxing. You need to visit it here.

Ugh. They don't even answer their phone anymore and cancelled my last two orders. Not sure what's going on with this place. It used to be good.

Use their website for ordering online! Free drink and Iit's cheaper than UberEats and those apps that add $3 per dish. Online ordering option for no utensils, which I really appreciate. They have vegan Kao soi which is very hard to find at other vegan Thai places. Delicious food. Super friendly staff. Very clean restaurant and cute decor inside. Plenty of parking right in front. Would definitely come back!

The quality of the food is not the same.
The taste is different, and the presentation is disappointing.
I ordered the nachos, they were so bad I couldn't enjoy them. They were extremely salty and the flavor was off. My favorite appetizer was the buffalo drumsticks, but the recipe changed. Before, they would put a piece of jicama (Mexican turnip) to hold the wing together, it was delicious! Now it's just a little plastic stick.
Also, the customer service is dry and unwelcoming.
I wouldn't recommend this restaurant anymore.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Freddy N.Irvine, CA023Mar 10, 2024
The young woman seen in this photo made my first time experience here dreadful . I drove from out of town and she made it so difficult to order not attentive, no helpful , I asked if she had any recommendations for first timer she just pointed out to the QR code . After about ten minutes of making some progress on the menu and making some choices ended up ordering two $6 each Thai teas , watered down , 2 entrees one being the Tom yum soup $15 and the second being the pad se ew dish portion was bad for $18 . I rate the dishes very mid 5 out of 10 too salty and over flavored . The worst part was the customer service from this individual pictured . Goes by Sugar should go by Salty . Originally ordered for dine in and she said once I was trying to pay that I'm required to give at least 18% tip for her handing me the food . I said I'll do a custom or cash tip and she wasn't being very helpful
. Given her bad attitude and awful vibes I requested to change it to take out and when given the food , she offered no condiments not a single napkin absolutely no utensils to eat with . I asked if I can get some utensils and she refused to help me. Said you are not eating here leave immediately I'm calling the police is what she told me . The worst customer service ever . Bad mouthing , poor attitude . No wonder we were the only customer at this place. Never returning . The food tasted very decent to my surprise just the experience from the supposed store manager"Sugar" made it a ZERO out of 10 overall experience for me . This is the hospitality/ food industry please correct yourself if you want to be successful. Thank you.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jess A.Brooklyn, NY8420941Jan 7, 2024
I had one of the soups. Super yummy. I went in a bit before closing to do pick up and they were very fast. If I lived in LA I could see this being a stable/go to for me. Very kind staff, lovely space and good food.
