The most amazing momo in town!! This is authentic and tastes like how it should. I've been here with my Nepali friend and she's agreed they're the best in town. The jhol momo was out of this world, the best thing to warm the soul on a cold/rainy day. It had a ton of flavor and the stuffing was plentiful. One order is probably more than enough for one person and the prices are very reasonable.
The ambiance is very hole in the wall, but hey! That's where you get the best food!
Service - friendly, clearly family run so might be a little slowHelpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - 15128340Mar 18, 2024
1/1 Ambience; 2/2 Food + Beverages; 1/1 Service; 1/1 Value
Nepali Bhanchha Ghar is a family run restaurant tucked away under the 7 train line off Broadway-Jackson Heights stop where the food and warm service are the star. The restaurant is rather spacious and maintained nicely and cleanly. The mom-and-pop shop vibes really came through as we met and were served by the family, all of whom were so friendly, helpful and quick in the service.
We were served a sel roti on the house, and it was both me and my friend's first time trying it. The sel roti is a slightly sweet and dense crispy fried ring of rice flour dough served with a refreshing and spicy chutney. As a native Bengali, it reminds me of a pitha. We both liked it, although it was a bit on the greasier side for me.
But, the main reason we went to this establishment were the famous jhol momos-- and not to be dramatic, but they were life changing! There is a reason this restaurant has been featured in so many media outlets and stands out on the momos crawl!
The momos were robust and so juicy with tons of tender beef filling. My friend prefers more salted beef, but I thought they were perfect. The jhol or broth was light with just a slightly spicy aftertaste. The food was piping hot and tasted very fresh. The dish as a whole tasted like a warm hug on a cold winter day. I will definitely be coming back for more as well as to try other menu items!
The jhol momos go for $10 for 8 momos, but given the size of the dumplings and how high quality the dish is, this a steal for a satisfying and filling meal. It warms my heart to see this family achieve the much deserved recognition and success for bringing their native cuisine and heritage to New York City, and Nepali Bhanchha Ghar certainly should be on a Jackson Height's restaurant itinerary!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Feb 16, 2024
Amazing option for momo and other Nepali delights. My boyfriend and I came for lunch on a weekend and tried:
+ Sel roti - delicious quick snack to wolf down while you hungrily wait for the rest of your order
+ Goat momo jhola - incredible... the best goat momo I've ever had. ALL about that broth
+ Chicken momo jhola - great
+ Sweet tea (it's self serve) - great
+ Chicken thali - great
Will be back for sure.
Tip: Entrance is on Roosevelt, so ignore Google Maps.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 810037Apr 8, 2024
I got the vegetable momo jhora. The broth these momos come in is just incredible, perfection. A broth that you'll remember. The veggie momo itself was good, kind of bland when eaten alone, but since they were immersed in this broth, I didn't really mind as much. Next time I come I'll get the potato momo and expect this score to shoot to 5/5. Btw, the service is excellent and the Masala chai is S-tier.

Place was very chill. They had a TV showing the behind the scenes of their foods, which was a nice personal touch.
They had so much to offer, I wish I could have stomached more. The Sel Roti was an interesting try. It was essentially an oily, sweet fried dough, but the texture was grainy clumped pieces, thanks to the rice flour. It was a tame subtle flavor, but fun to try once.
A friend had complimented on the Fried Chicken Momos from here, but I didn't see its appeal frankly. The momo was exactly the hard exterior I imagined, although the juicy interior wasn't bad.
The Beef Momo Jhola was way more my style. These plump round pieces were soaked in this spicy broth, that I can't quite put my finger on what it entails. But a nice elevation to typical steamed momos!
Come here for momo cravings, ya'll! Price was very reasonable as well.Helpful 3Thanks 1Love this 5Oh no 0 - Dec 29, 2023
This is a local Nepali restaurant that has many dishes to choose from! Casual vibes, friendly service, pay at the front desk. Good for family or with friends.
In terms of food:
- chicken momo very flavorful, tad salty
-Sel roti is delicious - crispy outside, warm and soft inside, a little sweet as well, has a sauce similar to salsa but with other spices
-beef thenthuk: not my fave, it's decent and clean but not for my palette
-butter tea: serve yourself station, slightly salty added sugar for sweeter taste, but tastes super good when you eat with foodHelpful 2Thanks 1Love this 0Oh no 0 - Sindy C.Queens, Queens, NY0113Apr 26, 2024
They have taste Momos and variety options for momo as well. The space is kind tiny if you go during rush hour not the best to dine in with large groups!

This was my first time having momos and they did not disappoint! Both the goat and chicken momos were super juicy and tender. I loved the tomato curry soup that came with it. I wish it was spicy but it was still a good addition.
We also had their sel roti which came with a very fragrant and spicy "salsa". I definitely recommend dipping it into the momo soup too!
I loved how warm the restaurant was. I saw a picture of AOC hanging on the wall! There is also free butter tea and chai.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
