Do you enjoy painting? Do you need more decorative pieces for your home? Maybe some extra mugs/plates/bowls? Are you looking for a cute personalized gift to give a loved one? Then look no further!

Next of kiln is a pottery paint shop where you can choose through a variety of items both seasonal and staple items. After you make your selections, you are guided through their process and can pick your paint colors and start on your project. After you're doing done painting, your projects will be glazed that week and ready for you to pick up once they're done.

The lady at the front desk is always helpful and willing to answer any questions on colors or ideas you may have for your project.

This is also an awesome place to take kids.

Overall, if you're looking for something fun and therapeutic to do by yourself or with a group this is the place to visit!

First off I want to say we really enjoy painting pottery at Next of Kiln. I will also say if there was another place to paint pottery I would go somewhere else. We have been there at least 4 times. So this is not a one time "having a bad day" experience!

The owner does not give a welcoming impression and feeling the entire time from walking through the door to leaving. She makes the atmosphere very tense and unwelcoming due to how rude she is. Not a relaxing experience to say the least.

It's a wonderful, colorful, well stocked place of business. I just wish it had a more comfortable
      atmosphere.

Tried this place out for the first time. I love the shop!! I think it's the coolest place. There's shelf's and shelf's of things to choose from to paint. The owner and her dad were super helpful and patient with my questions. The owner is a really great artist! It's hard to tell how something's gonna turn out, but that's part of the fun. I hope you spend an afternoon or evening here because I really enjoyed this place.

I need to blow off steam. I am a retired ceramics teacher (4 months) and a hand building ceramics. I also can throw on the wheel. When I retired I no longer had access to a kiln or a wheel. We moved to a very very small town. There is a lady here who has a ceramics studio (so she says). I went to talk to her about the possibility of having her fire some pieces for me. Yes I knew there would most likely be some kind of charge. I had a long conversation with her and ask about hand building in her studio and offered to even teach a class or two in exchange for access to her kiln and the use of her studio. She was positive at first. So just to see what was taught there I took my mom and daughter to her studio. We picked out some pieces of pottery that was casted to glaze. Once we did she ran us through a her version of a lesson on how to glaze. She gave us strict instructions to glaze from light to dark. I was very open on learning something new. My mom who is legally blind wanted to glaze her mug with violets on two sides. Her name is Violet. The woman suggested she use a stencil however she didn't have one of violets and suggested she did daisy's. I told my mom I would draw them for her instead. The woman got miffed and walked away. I thought wow what is your problem. Once my mom started because of her eyesight I told her to glaze the outside of the peddlers first and to use the dark purple. The owner came by and got upset because I reversed what she told us. Instead of my mom glazing from light to dark I had her glaze from dark to light. I attempted to take her aside and explain the my mom couldn't see the light colors and needed the dark outline to glaze inside. She blew me off and walked away. We finished up and gave her our pieces to fire. None of the glazes had labels. There were tiles under the bottles that displayed the colors once fired. However when I picked up the pieces she had dipped them in a clear glaze before firing. Keeping an open mind I asked if I bought one of her pieces took it home and used my glazes would she fire the piece. She told me she would need to inspect the piece. This was to be sure I applied the glazes correctly. I again told her I was a retired ceramics teacher and understood that she needed to be sure before she put something in her kiln that could cause issues. I asked when she thought she would get more items in that people could buy she became very taken back. And said she could just order something if I wanted and she said there was a shortage of clay so something's would be hard to get. I need my own kiln!

Not a good experience. The employee (owner?) was patronizing and rude throughout our whole experience, from picking out our projects all through choosing colors and painting. It's too bad, as the shop is cute and they have a good selection of pieces to choose from.

This place has been here for a couple of decades. It has always been a special place for my daughter and me to visit. It has a cute atmosphere and lots of. nice bisque Ware. However the current owner/manager has made it so unwelcome every time we have come for the last two years. Zero friendliness, curt condescending instructions, unsolicited advice. She seems truly put out to have customers. She never remembers repeat customers. I don't think I want to come back. It's sad as it could be so much nicer.

I can't tell you how great this place is. We were looking for something safe and fun to do for my daughters' 4th birthday and she loves to paint so we stumbled on this place. The owner was so great explaining how and what to do to young kids, and then to my husband and I as well. My husband ended up having the most fun! She even shipped our stuff with a hand written birthday card to my daughter, and they all turned out so beautiful. This is a must stop for anyone who is looking for great safe family fun or the paint lover in you....would even make a great date night.

Not a good experience. Employee/owner was condescending and rude, hovered. I understand all the Covid stress, but it is no excuse for her attitude. She insisted there are no medical exemptions for mask usage. She is very wrong or my doctor is. I trust my doctor and I should not have to reveal all my medical history. The store was empty and remained this way the entire time we were there. I also understand her protecting her boss/businesses interest etc. but what put me off and caused me to write this review was her "eye rolling" and condescending attitude about the matter. Will never visit again nor recommend. Maybe there are good reasons besides Covid for no patrons; was also empty when I picked up the item.

I took my daughter today and we had a blast. There are plenty of ceramics to choose from and they supply the glaze and fire the finished project for the cost of whatever you pick out to glaze. My daughter is 3 years old and was able to glaze a small cup for six dollars. It took us about an forty five minutes to do and will be ready next week to pick up after firing. Not bad for a fun project with a kid, or something to do for teens or an adult. I look forward to doing more projects! They also have stencils and someone to help with any questions. I love how relaxed and clean the atmosphere was.
