They were quick to come out the same day and diagnose our problem, for $195 plus tax. Everything seemed great. Then, they disappeared, stopped responding to e-mails or phone calls. We've been calling them for two months, and when we talk to someone, the excuses range from "the part isn't available," (which isn't true, we confirmed with the manufacturer) to "we did the diagnosis wrong and need to redo it."
Mistakes happen, but as I type this they've now been a no-show for the second appointment to re-diagnose the problem. You'd think that after inconveniencing a customer this badly, they'd prioritize getting things fixed, but apparently not. Now we're out a couple hundred dollars and can't even trust the diagnosis. Have to start all over with a different company.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

C.J.G., thank you for taking to share your experience. We are deeply sorry for the miscommunication and lack of follow up and response from our customer service team. This is unacceptable and is not reflection of how we typically operate. We take your feedback seriously and this has been addressed throughout the entire company so that we can improve moving forward. Again, I apologize for the inconvenience. We will be better.

What a rip-off. Do not use under any circumstances. Guy showed up two days late only to tell us the ice machine was broken on our fridge. No sh*t Sherlock, that's what we called you for! Guess how much that cost us - $150 for 5 minutes of his time! We even explained to the tech that this is a total scam, to which he laughingly replied "That's how they make their money."
We'll see how funny it is when I report them to the better business bureau.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

Michelle, we are deeply sorry for the scheudling mishap relating to your service. As we continue to grow as a company, we are constantly working to improve our processes to better serve our customers, and we understand that our scheduling mishap fell short of your expectations. As for your experience with the technician and his response to you, that is totally unacceptable and has since been addressed with him and his servicing manager. This is not a reflection of how we've been operating for the past 20 years. We strive to be proffesional in all aspects of our business, especially in your home. I would like to offer a full refund for the diagnostic and trouble. Please give us a call at your soonest convenience so we can coordinate the refund. Again, I apologize for the inconvenience. We will be better.

We called Nortech when our walk-in fridge and freezer were having issues keeping temperature. After some back and forth over the severity of the issue we both agreed that a preventative maintenance appointment was the best approach. The person in the phone said that these appointments start at $195 plus any repairs.
After about a week of unsuccessful attempts to have them arrive for this service, they finally did, at 4pm on a busy Friday night.
The tech spent about 30 minutes poking around some of our equipment before presenting a list of issues that were suggested to be addressed.
Then they presented a bill for $195 plus tax for EACH cooler they looked at. The total bill was $1,000+ for 30 minutes of diagnostic work but NO REPAIRS.
After I refused to pay this sum, the tech agreed to reduce the fee to a single charge of $195 plus tax.
My small business can barely afford to stay open, let alone absorb the exorbitant fees for diagnosis with no repairs.
If you call this team, be sure to have a bid presented up front for the cost of the work.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

Hi Jonathan, we appreciate the feedback with your recent walk-in fridge service. It appears this was definitely a miscommunication on our end from customer service reps regarding the upfront quote on the phone. We typically charge $195 plus tax for each walk-in cooler diagnostic. Unfortunately for multiple commercial walk-in coolers, the diagnostic fee and preventative maintenance fees can add up quickly but our pricing is always fair. Again, I apologize for the miscommunication and I'm glad we were able to make this right on-site. We will be better with our communication and upfront pricing moving forward.

Total scam. We called, they came out and charged $200 to assess that the refrigerator was broken, and need a new compressor. This is not what was wrong with it, btw. We called several times over the span of a month. No one got back to us. So we called Orca Mechanical and the fixed it the next day.

BK, thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We are deeply sorry for the misdiagnosis on your refrigerator as well as the lack of follow up and response from our customer service team. This is unacceptable an is not reflection of how we typically operate. We take your feedback very seriously and this has been addressed throughout the entire company so that we can improve moving forward. We are not here to scam our customers. And if we were, we definitely would not be in business for the past 20 years. I would like to offer a full refund of the diagnostic. Please give us a call at your soonest convenience so we can coordinate your refund.

Nortech technician came to fix (1. Freezing 2. Clean mold on water dispenser area) for our refrigerator. The technician fixed the freezing problem, but he had no clue on how to open the water dispensing unit of Kenmore Elite refrigerator. In fact, he made several dents on the unit in attempting to open the water dispenser unit. Then, he said that he is going to go back and find someone else who can come over to do the job. Few months passed away and no call from the company. And when I called them today, I found out that the technician has already closed the job stating it's complete (By now the company has already been paid in full) and they can't do anything, and I need to submit a new job order. Apparently, the technician is no longer with this company and the company shows ZERO accountability in addressing the issue. Now I need to get a different company/technician to go solve my problem.
STAY AWAY from this company and save yourself the trouble and time.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

Jay, thank you for bringing this to our attention. I am deeply sorry for your experience with our customer service rep and the technician who could not open the water dispensing unit. This is totally unacceptable. We take full repsonsibility for the miscommunication interanlly. Had our customer service staff been aware that the job was not actually complete we would have scheduled a re-call job immediately for you. Again, I am very sorry for the inconvenience this has caused you. I have excalated to both customer service and operations managers to prevent this from happening again.

I had a good experience with this outfit in early 2020, followed by a terrible one last week. I understand COVID and holiday shipping delays, but communication was poor and after having to call them for updates several times, I was told to "call someone else if you don't like it." It's not their fault that the shipping of my part was delayed; it is their fault that I never heard from them again. They just abandoned my repair three days before Christmas.
That isn't the reason for the 1-star rating, though. When I found another company to do the repair, they came out within 12 hours and fixed the furnace within 20 minutes. It cost me $150. Nortech charged me $148 for a diagnostic visit and said the parts + labor for the issue would be $700, plus another $500 if I wanted to fix a secondary issue. The company that fixed it examined the system and said there was nothing wrong with the part. It just needed a few maintenance tweaks. The furnace works perfectly now. I was about to get hosed for over $1000 from Nortech so the 1-star rating is due to either incompetence or price gauging.
If you have an oil furnace or oil/heat pump hybrid like I do, order your oil and get your service from Sound Oil. Impeccable customer service, and they are understanding and empathetic about a single mom being in a freezing cold house with her two young daughters days before Christmas during a pandemic. That's the kind of company I want to give my business to.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0Business owner information

Hi Mary, I appreciate your feedback. I am extremely sorry for the poor communication and lack of empathy you experienced from our customer service reps and furnace technician. This is totally unacceptable. And as for the discrepancy of pricing between another company, it appears their solution was to do preventative maintenance and our solution was to do a parts replacement. Given your dire situation prior to the holidays, getting your furnace up and running right away with preventative maintenance should have been our first priority versus the replacement option. I am extremely sorry you had to experience this, this is not our normal course of action when diagnosing a problem and we have emphasized this throughout the company. For whatever its worth, I am happy to tell you that since this unfortunate occurrence there has been significant changes to our customer service staff, field technicians, and management team with the goal of providing better customer service. We are trying our best to make sure issues like this does not happen in the future. Again, please accept our apologies. We are striving to be better.

Our heat went out on a Saturday morning and our old home has terrible insulation so it was starting to cool down quick; with a newborn in the household it was pretty stressful.
I called around several HVAC companies but they all were either closed on the weekend or didn't have any availability for several days. Fortunately, I found Nortech services -- Norman answered my call and we scheduled service within a couple of hours.
Norman was friendly, professional and efficient! He charges a little more for the base service fee than other HVAC companies, but and he didn't apply that to the overall repair cost (despite instructing me he would). Still, Norman gave me a fair price and I'm happy with the experience.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

I called for Gas Furnace repair yesterday.
The service tech was friendly, knowledgeable and answered all my questions. He left everything neat and clean like it was before he came. I would recommend Nortech to anyone looking for service or a new system.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - CM M.Seattle, WA01Jun 14, 2021
I had an emergency on a Sunday and Norman took the call and looped in his tech. They explained the severity of what happened and walked me through next steps. Norman was available via text into the evening and followed through. Great service.
