I love Ocha classic one since my fiancé showed me this place about a year or two ago. Apparently it's a family favorite and I love it so much. We ordered the seafood soup with coconut milk and I cannot even get started on how amazing it is! I love soaking my rice with the broth and that first bite with the fish or clams to top your spoonful of broth soaked rice...
We went as a celebration for my fiancé's birthday, and it is a good place for special occasions!
I will say that for both my fiancé and I we still had leftovers of the soup to take home, which was an awesome dinner the next day! We also ordered the chicken chow mein, and two Thai teas which we were surprised on how fast the service was for a Saturday afternoon!
I will say that because of how good the restaurant is they're usually is a long wait so it's better to go during the weekdays but you never know. It is worth the wait and the food is so delicious! I have more photos of other visits I have had when I made a google review. For more general information, they don't take reservations as far as I'm aware, but they do have takeout and they do have a small parking structure in the back but it's usually packed so it's better to park in the streets or find a meter parking spot.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Feb 4, 20241 check-in
This used to be a favorite place! For years, I have wanted to come back.
The service was great.
We were checked on and not rushed, even though the place was packed and there was a line of people waiting.
The meats were dried out.
The noodles were lacking flavor.
The fried rice was good.
The soup was just ok.
You can see it is still
Just as popular as it was over 10 years ago, but the flavors are not there. Like if the food was cold and waiting on a counter top.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 13136483Jan 26, 2024
Ochoa is one of those classic gems in Los Angeles that once you try it you'll definitely be a reoccurring customer
Overall ambiance is nothing out of the ordinary
The parking is behind the restaurant and is very difficult so keep that in mind it's very small and always congested !
The service also there's nothing special since it's very busy they are trying to get your order as fast as you can so it's kind of rushed so I recommend look at their menu before getting there
The taste of the food is pretty good and the pricing is good as well! So it kind of makes up for the other stuff they lack but overall check them out !Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jan 20, 20241 check-in
This place has been a family favorite for years.
The parking is always a hassle but very much worth it. You can pay or if you're lucky you might find street parking.
I placed a phone order and was given a wait time of 25-30 minutes. Customer service was great.
The line is always long so if you're dining in be prepared to wait.
The food was ready right on time. The packaging is awesome. Very organized.
I was in and out in minutes.
The food was just like I remembered.
I ordered the 7 sea soup, combination fried rice and combination noodles.
All were delicious and tasted fresh.
A great place to eat with the family.Helpful 1Thanks 1Love this 0Oh no 0 - Mary M.Central LA, Los Angeles, CA041Apr 19, 2024

PAD-SEE-EW LA LA! Ocha Classic has to have some of the most tasty Pad see ew ever, the rice noodles are perfect and the tofu is crispy with a hint of fried egg inside! I also recommend getting a tasty Thai iced tea and the glass noodles with a side of beef, they're scrumptious. The establishment has a classic ambiance and is right in the heart of LA so you get to see the hustle and bustle charm of the city as you eat! The restaurant itself is actually pretty laid back, the clientele were easygoing and I'm so glad there wasn't any screaming kids, it's totally my style! I wish I could say the staff are the same, however they're quite blunt, bitter and not very attentive. I walk in and the first thing I see is a notice of a ten percent charge which is applied to final bill just for sitting in-house! Um no! Good thing the food tasted good!

I recently dined at Ocha Classic, and the experience left my taste buds dancing! The Tom Yum Soup was a flavor explosion, with the perfect balance of spice and tanginess. The Orange Chicken was crispy yet tender, while the Shrimp Fried Rice and Shrimp Chow Mein were both savory delights. Each dish was a symphony of flavors that left my taste buds dancing. The Thai tea was hands down the best I've ever had, boasting a rich and creamy texture that complemented the meal perfectly.
On the service front, the staff was attentive and friendly, enhancing the overall dining experience. However, the limited parking space was a drawback; finding a spot required a short stroll around the block. Despite the parking challenge, the delectable food, excellent service, and vibrant ambiance make Ocha Classic a must-visit when you are in Los Angeles.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jul 13, 2023
I visited this location on 7/11/23
I use to come here as a child, let's say over 20years ago.. anyway the food use to taste fresh. It was worth the long wait.
The food is terrible. The soup has a different taste overall not as lemony. The rice was overcooked. The vegetable chowmein extra greasy.
When I brought up the rice to the person she said that's how it's always been. My mother and I would know as we've been coming since the 90's.
The soups price is now $22 the rice $5 and chowmein $12 out total was like $47.
The last 2 times I've eaten here hasn't been good.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - May 29, 2023
My family has been coming here since I was a child and nothing has changed. This is the type of place that you go to with your family to catch up over some good food. Not so much for the ambiance. It is always busy in there and the staff is always in a rush, I don't take it personally; they're just trying to get the line moving because the wait time can be over an hour long at times.
There is always a long line during dinner, I recommend going during lunch instead. Pay the $7 for parking because the chances of finding street parking are slim to none.
Our top picks are:
- sea food soup w/ a side of white rice
- combination chow mein
- pad see ew
- Orange chicken
- shrimp rollsHelpful 3Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0
