This review is for the Inn. It's a unique space in a historic building with a unique business model that coordinates with a housing nonprofit.
Service was friendly and well coordinated. They set up expectations well for when the front desk was staffed and what to do when it would not be staffed. We were escorted to our rooms by a very pleasant front desk staffer.
Beautiful location along Hadlock Bay. We were in a garden room standard king that we were pleasantly surprised to find out had a private outdoor seating area with a peekaboo view of the bay.
Beautiful gardens and well maintained outside area. The inside of the room was a bit/very dated, but the bed was comfortable and everything worked. No AC, but there was a fan and windows that opened. The main parts of the room (bed, bathroom) were very clean but things could have used a bit more of a cleaning under the desk/bed etc.
We' definitely stay here again!Helpful 0Thanks 1Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jul 4, 2023
To begin with this place is gorgeous. The scenery is definitely hard to beat. We were also amazed to find out that Ansel Adam's father was once an owner of this place. Several of Ansel's photographs were on the halls.
The food was absolutely delicious. We loved the BBQ buffet. It was hard to decide whether to order that or from the menu. So, at our table one person did the buffet and the other three tried dishes from the menu. When we were finished we all decided to rate this place. The food was definitely a "5" star. However, service ranged from a "2" to a "3".
There were no complaints on the food. So why didn't we give a 5 star rating above? Originally I gave it a "3" but came back to edit and changed it to a "4". To begin with service was extremely slow and poor. It seemed we waited forever for our food and the servers never checked back once. For such a nice eating establishment the servers weren't trained properly, they were loud in their own "employee" groups and their attire ranged from yoga pants to short shorts. We should have been checked on before the meal and during the meal. There was more but I'm sure you get the jest of it.
Would we go back? Definitely. The food is fabulous but it's not as elegant as it could be and that's mainly due to the servers.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Chris H.Portland, OR16851596Jan 24, 2024
An absolute disaster - extremely dated for 159 a night - smells like trash and the staff extremely rude--they're trying to come off as a trendy ocean front place but it's pure trash no-tell-motel

This must have been a destination spot in years past, but now, except for the lovely garden, the furnishings were faded and shopworn. When we checked in, the path leading to our room smelled strongly of sewage and one wondered if the guests dining outside were nose blind. Our room had a smell of bleach and tired odors left behind by prior guests. We also noted a plunger next to the toilet and hoped the sewage odor were not associated with our room. It lacked hand and body soap (both dispensers were empty), something that should be of concern so soon after Covid times. What earned our low ratings was the fact that the hotel placed an unpadded door stopper right in the path of one of the few outlets in the room. In the dim light of the morning it blended in with the carpet and my toe suffered mightily from its hard edge.

I used to love this place. Amazing view, good service and food. Last night we went for oysters: No oysters! First disappointment! Ordered French Champagne. They were out, had an okay Cava! Took forever to get! Reed wanted a blended Mojito, but they don't do blended drinks. I see that more and more?
I will say our water glasses were constantly refilled. My shrimp cocktail was beautifully presented.
My son's hamburger looked delicious and he said it was great! Reed and I shared a large Caesar, adding Bay Shrimp and Salmon. The Bay Shrimp was yummy, but hard to go wrong with that! My Salmon was totally raw in the middle. It seems a new trend; one I don't want to participate.
I told our waitress and her response was, that is how we are preparing it now! Then ask me first if I want to eat raw in the middle when ordering. She offered to take it back and cook longer, and whoopee got $2.50 off our bill!
Service was friendly, but slow !Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Juanita R.Seattle, WA31610Aug 15, 2022
We went for music and dinner. We saw the Jonathan Doyle Trio in a lovely outdoor setting. The trio was entertaining and had good rapport with the audience. It was good music and views. The grounds are lovely and there is a map to the gardens, which I enjoyed.
We had service bumps and since I'm from out of town, I won't have a chance to go back for a second chance. I also did not end up eating there although my husband had a meal he said was good.
We had a very apologetic man approach our table after my husband asked to speak with the manager. My husband ended up with a comped meal.
I appreciate that the restaurant team tried, once they were alerted to the problem, to address it for us directly.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - David V.Sequim, WA942033Jan 20, 2023
Great place to stay. Nice views from the room we had. Quiet and peaceful. The area around the Inn has nice waterfront access. The food is great at the restaurant as well. Fresh, local and delicious. Nice portions as well. The staff really make you feel welcome.

Beautiful location. Average food. Five star prices with a three star meal. Fish and chips was all breading and not enough fish and paella seafood was all over cooked and dried out. Wanted to like it. But no

Told by locals, that it was a place to check out. I wish I could rave about the place but everything was a little off balance but I guess that's to be expected since it was an alcohol plant converted to a hotel/restaurant. It is interesting! I do love the idea that they are supporting Bayview housing. As for the special Valentine's Day dinner, it was good. I would like to have said it was fabulous. It was a hit & miss. The chef did a great job on preparing the menu. The calamari was tasty with the bacon and balsamic glaze. The salad was good. The soup was fantastic! I had the salmon which was baked in a flaky crust, excellent, nice and hot; the hollandaise sauce was warm & tasty but the crab topping was chilled...I was not expecting that. The mixed vegetables were good but overcooked and served at room temperature. The next day leftovers were fabulous, hot and melded. My husband ordered the steak and lobster which turned out to be prime rib and lobster. He asked for medium rare, more on the rare side thinking he was getting steak. The lobster could have been cooked a little bit longer...he ate it just the same. There were three side cups, one with butter, one with horseradish and the third one was a lightweight brown gravy...not a juice de jure. We think it was for the fried potatoes. And last but not least, the dessert was to die for!!! If they were to have that dessert on their regular menu, I would come there for coffee and dessert once week!
