Old Neighborhood Grill

This place is ate up. A group of about 7 people were exiting as I walked in. They told the cashier they were going to eat somewhere else. They looked annoyed. I ordered a gyro with no tomato togo and when i got home saw i had a gyro with nothing on it. I drove back with the sandwich and asked for a refund. I was refused. This used to be our goto spot. Has really gone downhil.

I've been here a few times recently. The food is great. I like the burgers, fries, and chicken wings. The service is irregular. The owner, when he is working the counter is great, while the younger staff seem a bit undertrained. I've been in the place when it was empty. When my food was ready they called my name for me to come get it. Seemed odd, I think they could easily bring it to us.

Once I ordered 12 wings and asked if I could get half mild, half bbq flavor. The girl working the counter wanted to charge me the more expensive price for two separate 6 wing orders, which seemed odd, so I wound up just getting 12 mild wings. That seems an odd policy. I think she was bewildered because the cash register didn't specifically have a button for splitting the sauce type....the cook is about five feet from the register, so you'd think they could work it out....

So, I really want to like this place, but I just can't. I've been there two times and I won't be going again.

On the positive side, it's a great location (for me) I love the atmosphere, beer garden and they have a decent selection of beer.

What will keep me from going back is the food. The first time I went there I got a cheese burger. I asked for cheddar cheese and got some sort of cheese whiz type of cheese spread. I don't even remember what my wife got that time because she took two bites of her food, threw the rest of her food away and refused to go back. But I'm a glutton for punishment, so went back again, by myself.

This time I ordered a char dog with onion rings. The char dog appeared to a regular hot dog, no char, and the bun was mostly stale. Either that or they keep them frozen to save costs and nuked it before sending it out. Then the onion rings were so stuck together they managed to burn the outside but leave the inside undercooked. Not to mention that it seems as though they haven't changed their frying oil in a while, the onion rings tasted like fried fish.

Next time I'll just eat at home.

Always love the food here but stopped off for a martini and was charged $18 for a very average size drink

We went in with our tail between our legs, hoping to use a $40 gift certificate that had been in my wife's purse for TWELVE YEARS. It was torn and faded and we had our doubts but the owner came out and told us he would honor it! That was amazing, and then the food came: even better. This might have been the best burger I have ever had. I'm not a huge meat eater but love a good burger once in a while, and all I kept thinking was: this blue cheese cheeseburger would turn Joaquin Phoenix into a carnivore. The fries were perfect and we also got salads and everything was great, including the service and atmosphere. Out of our way, but we will be going back.

John, Theresa and their girls are neighbours and truly represent a local family business. They have been there for the community since they opened about 11yrs ago, and they continue to be there for the Neighbourhood these days.

Good food. Good people. Love their burgers and Gyro.

Burger was red the whole way through. Fried were served cold. The $8 can of beer was drinkable.

We love going to the Neighborhood Grill. The owner has a tent, tables and heat lamps set up in the back during Covid. I highly recommend it. It has a fun family atmosphere!

Visiting from out of town and found this place for a late lunch. We would say the food is just ok. French fries are cooked well but definitely not fresh. Hamburger patties seem store bought/frozen and not fresh made. Again it tasted fine but nothing special. The service wasn't the greatest. There is a sign on the counter saying that Tips are not required but are appreciated. You pay when you order so I added a tip at that time. We were the only people in the place. There were two employees watching tv from the counter. When our order was up the employees called our name from the counter so we could come get it. I'm sure that's normal practice but it felt a little lazy to us that they had time to watch TV but they couldn't be bothered to bring our food to our table. Definitely not a place would visit again.

It's a great neighborhood local place in my area and I enjoy their huge hamburgers, but it wasn't cooked as well as I'd like it usually and he didn't even ask. The dish I want to rave about however it the Chicken Kabob dinner with 4 large skewers of very good tasting chicken breast served with a side salad and some rice!! I didn't expect it from what appears to be a pizza, hamburger, hot dog joint so I was very pleased.

Did I mention they also have a great selection on the kid's menu, too, for families who come in.
