Wanted some food food for lunch so I ordered only online , waited 30 mins and got my food. Please realize this is made to order dine spot and not a fast food chain. This is made fresh so it'll take some time , unless you have time to wait.
I got the lunch special , curry shrimp , rice and cabbages

Must order via a kiosk, no cash accepted. Customer service could have been a little better. Beef patties were spicy but delicious.

The location is in a pretty interesting place, it divides two roads with heavy traffic but thankfully there's parking on the side. The inside is well decorated and for such a small place there's plenty of seating. When you walk in you are greeted with a kiosk to order, honestly I like ordering with a person especially when trying new places so I was kinda taken aback but thankfully an employee came up to us and recommended plenty of options. My husband is vegetarian, he had plenty of options and he says that the jerk Mushrooms were the highlight of his meal. I got the curry with chicken and shrimp, it was $20 and even though you get a large portion size, I was kinda disappointed in the lack of flavor. The yellow rice tasted plain and mac and cheese felt a little like krafts. The chicken and shrimp were cooked to perfection especially since they cook those as you order so there was a 10-15 minute wait. Yet comparing it to other Caribbean restaurants, the flavors didn't meet my expectations.

To call One Luv Cafe a hidden gem would be an understatement. The Caribbean restaurant sits on a strange, triangular block in the middle of nowhere. The only way we would've known it existed was that our route to midtown would regularly take us by it. After the umpteenth time, we finally decided to park and check it out.
To order, you'll need to use one of the two tablets that are set up. We chose a chicken and shrimp curry combo plate, with plantains as the side, along with a side of jerk chicken and a beef patty. Then, we grabbed one of the few tables and chairs available (there are a few more outside) to wait for our meal. While we waited, we kept sneaking glances into the kitchen window where we could both see and smell food being freshly prepared. Ten minutes later, a smiling woman brought us our platters, all looking hot and tasty atop their own banana leaves.
The curry and jerk chicken were flavorsome and punchy. We were surprised at how spicy the jerk chicken was, but I also appreciated that the cooks hadn't pulled their punches with the spices to deliver a more authentic meal. The plantains were the surprising star of the show, with all kinds of grilled char that made it especially tasty. I also haven't been able to find a better beef patty outside my hometown of Brooklyn, so please try one if you come here.
Our only misgiving was the size of the meat-only offerings, which felt fairly pricey for the cup of meat that arrived at our table. If you're interested in trying multiple proteins, I say swing for the platters, which feel like a better value since it includes rice and a side (try the plantains!).
Service was quick, friendly, and relatively unobtrusive. Our server checked in on us just twice - once to deliver the meal, and again later to pick up our empty plates (it was all I could do to not lick them clean). Street parking is a little tough, but there's a small parking lot off to the side of the restaurant, right by the smoking grill where some of this yumminess is presumably prepared.Helpful 5Thanks 1Love this 1Oh no 0 - Jaidei F.Lithonia, GA0616Feb 3, 2024
Food was delicious, the ingredients are fresh. Sandra was more than helpful in answering all our many questions. If you in the area, stop by or make the trip it's worth the drive.

Why is it SO hard to find good caribbean food here??? Well just know, this is a legit spot. Flavorful, delicious, good portion size and great value. I had the curry shrimp and candy yams and lawddddd dat plate ah mek mi grin all nite! Recmend this spot and will be back.
A few parking spots on the side and some outdoor tables as well.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1 - Oct 3, 2022
My friend and I want a little pick me up and decided to come here. Now I understand there was an event but I place 3 orders of plantains and they gave us no where near what I paid for which wasn't cool. The server put all three orders in one box (my inner voice told me to check before I leave but I didn't) when my friends and I got to the house we saw how they cheated us! Messed up!
And they don't strain their sorrel talking about it's what makes them "unique" aka plan lazy. If you know, you know and I have NEVER had sorrel with the flowers still in it. No, I don't recommend this place.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - KLassy K.Boston, MA04116Dec 15, 2023
This restaurant consistently provides great customer service and delicious food that tastes like it's made with love from your fav auntie's kitchen. Definitely a neighborhood fav! Jerk chicken, brown stew and Mac n cheese never disappoint.

My first yelp review in a long time and it sucks that it has to be negative. I don't know if I'm more hurt that the curry shrimp had no taste or that I was charged $26 for this.
I did ask instead of tortilla to put it on coco bread which I paid extra for but that got ignored. I know if it was me I would of never let this out the kitchen.
I give it a one star because even though the young lady knew this was unacceptable she did have great customer service.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

Hi Kimberly, I apologize that you were not satisfied with your food. If you did not want the tacos, why didn’t you order the curry shrimp rice plate?? I suggest to always try to find a solution with the restaurant first, that way you would have given us the opportunity to correct the issue. Had you called I would have offered you a credit on your next visit. That being said, if you would like to give us another try, your $26 entree will be on the house. Thanks
