I will keep coming back and definitely recommend it!
I absolutely love coming here! I have been to other Physical Therapy centers, including NOVA but nothing compares to the attention and care that I have found here at Orthocare Physical Therapy Center.
I have been seen by Dr. Shruti, Dr. Grishma and Lucia and I receive the same level of care and attention by all 3. They listen to me and they work with me.
Additionally, the location is so convenient. So close to 66, Fairfax County parkway, Route 28 and located on Route 50.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Mal S.Washington, DC155529Sep 10, 2018First to Review
I've only seen Dr. A (Dr. Shruti Ambegaonkar) 4 times, but as a result of seeing her, I already know more about the root problems of my decade old injury than any of my past 9 prior physical therapists combined have been precise enough to uncover.
She is methodically scientific - bordering forensic -- in her attention to detail. She's passionate and fluent in her life's work in orthopedic medicine. She also has a bubbly bedside manner that helped me feel comfortable and calm immediately.
Her thorough approach means she will err on the side of caution when prescribing exercises and routines. This can seem slow at times, but she balances that deep long-term care approach with practices like dry needle therapy and deep tissue massage which will immediately alleviate pain and muscle tightness in a short/medium term capacity.
Frankly, I was heartbroken when recently my long-term physical therapist (Dr. Virginia Dula of Move Better LLC), also a military wife and mom, packed up and left for a deployment last month.
Those of us on the long-term injury management track know just how difficult it can be to find a physical therapist who's got it all... But after meeting Dr. A I can't help but feel like I've got a guardian angel out there after all.
Even with Dr. Dula's incredible help, I had begun to accept that the more stubborn parts of my injury would cause my body to be permanently limited because they never healed or fully functioned again no matter how long we treated them. After all, I've been regularly doing PT for 5 years now.
In just 4 sessions, Dr. A was able to get into those muscles in my spine and make them move and feel when I've had no feeling and movement there for years.
For this reason I highly respect her methodical and slow approach because it's clear to me that we are going to make even more permanent progress than I have ever had before.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Theresa K.Springfield, VA1999140Jul 29, 2019
My husband was involved in a terrible car accident in college and got rear ended by a commercial truck on the highway within the span of 3 years and had been suffering chronic neck pain ever since. Now, more than a decade removed and a couple thousand dollars later he's still not 100% and frankly, probably never will be. He's done everything from going to a chiropractor to multiple spine injections to help relieve his discomfort and for the most part, it always comes back. The worst was when he had a flair up that was so bad he had to sleep sitting in a rocking chair for a week...He went to an orthopedic and spine doctor to get it look at and came back after receiving six (yes...six) injections in his spine all in one session. The doctor also recommended using a procedure that would use a laser to burn the nerves in his spine to get rid of his pain...yes, their solution was to burn the nerves to stop feeling feelings instead of trying to fix the issue...
So that's where Orthocare and Dr. Shruti Ambegaonkar comes in. We stopped by Orthocare on a whim because they were able to see him immediately (as early as the next morning) and Dr. A was honest about her prognosis and wanted to offer a treatment that would not only help relieve his pain today, but give him the tools to empower him in case it did. That's something that no other doctor had done with him in the past, given him a finish line for treatment. So even though he was skeptical, he was excited to try and not only fix his issue, but learn how to deal with it in cases of flair ups.
He went to Orthocare for about three months before being cleared and received hands on physical therapy through manipulation, strength training, scraping, dry needling, traction, and most importantly learned what he can do at home to help. Honestly, it's unclear exactly what it was that helped but he truly believes all of it played an important role in making him feel better.
It'd be a lie to say he's 100% better and as stated above he probably never will be (sad, I know). There's going to be good days and bad, but he's encouraged knowing that if he does wake up with some pain he knows exactly what steps he can take to help, not to mention a new friend that he can visit if things get too bad.
Thank you Dr. A for everything!Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Changmo Y.Fairfax, VA02Jun 1, 2020
I am so thankful that I met Dr. Shruti!
I have had shoulder problem for few years at this point. I was seeing different physical therapist for the shoulder problem but I never felt l was getting enough attention while I am doing exercises at the facility and shoulder problem didn't seem to improve.
So I started looking for a new physical therapist and I found Dr. Shruti through Google. I don't necessarily always trust 5.0 rating in reviews as my previous therapist also had 5.0 review from many people as well....
I really like the fact that I get one on one session with Dr Shruti and she pays great amount attention for every exercise I do and make sure I do it correctly. Her involvement definitely makes a big difference how I do exercises and she always examines me as a first thing during the appointment to check my movements, posture, and muscle tightness o me. I also really appreciate that she explains everything very thoroughly.
I only had three sessions with her as of today but I confessed to her today that I am really happy that I found her and I am going to leave reviews that she deserves. She is my third therapist in this area and I would say she is absolutely the best and I don't see myself seeing anyone else in the future.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Alyssa G.Fairfax, VA13811Mar 8, 2021
I started seeing Grishma back in December 2020 after having extreme back pain to the point where I was having trouble walking. Now about 3 months later and after consistent appointments I'm back to where I was before the pain. I cannot say enough good things about the team and Grishma. 10/10 highly recommend.

I saw all the doctors over a few month period following a car accident that left me very tensed up. I went in unable to bend over, and now I'm feeling better than I have in a long while. They helped me discover and address some root problems that were adding to my issues, which has been a huge relief. They also gave me access to the tools I need to continue exercising and strengthening on my own. I'm honestly feeling better than I did even before my accident, and can't thank them enough!

Shruti is a miracle worker or just really great at fixing people! Either way I can't say enough about how happy I was with my experience. She was professional and gave me instant things to do to relieve pain, and then worked with me to get me back to being active again. Super happy with my experience here! She never once said "you may never do X again" her goal was to help me get back to being active in the activities I enjoy.

I listed to the right as I walked into the therapy room. It was my awkward compensation - the result of a bad outcome from a bunionectomy fifteen years ago. Consultation after consultation and a plethora of advice from MDs informed me that pain was something I would have to live with; that I would adapt, but never be without. Pain was and would be my constant companion. One morning the pain took over and I was unable to stand. I grabbed my phone and asked siri for the closet PT and was directed to Orthocare Physical Therapy. As I limped into their clean and comfortable office, I was greeting by friendly, concerned, and professional staff. The PT assigned to me stayed with me the entire time. Unlike other Physical Therapy Centers, Orthocare does not hand you off to different people during your appointment. They work with you to develop a path to recovery. Six weeks after beginning treatment, I can stand and walk without pain. I have my life back.
