The service and the atmosphere was good, but the food was sad and wasn't worth the price (about $5 AUS for a small quantity/dish). We realized half way through that we shouldn't order off the sushi belt and ordered fresh made sushi off the menu. The rice was falling apart when taking stuff off the sushi belt and the sushi was lukewarm, which indicated to me that it wasn't fresh. However, when ordering from the menu, the fish tasted better and it was an improvement. The spicy sushi wasn't quite spicy and the sauce with the fried squid had no flavor. Kind of bland/sad overall and left me disappointed.

Just arrived to the Gold Coast and was craving sushi. I saw this advertised in a flyer at my Surfers Paradise hotel and decided to give it a shot. Got take out and feasted! AMAZING! High quality ingredients, no skimping on the fish, and extremely friendly service. $34 for all of this.
Got three raw tuna rolls, tuna nigiri, hamachi nigiri, scallop nigiri, and two orders of "Sunset roll" which was avocado and cucumber topped with shrimp, salmon and orange fish eggs. Everything was SO delicious and fresh!! I will definitely be back!

An attractive restaurant located around the corner of the Q1 hotel. Spent $70 between two people on fresh sashimi, sushi and hot dishes. Be sure not to miss the aburi (grilled) menu!

The majority of dishes on rotation on the train are deep fried variations. If you're after nigiri or sashimi, be sure to order it fresh as they don't frequent the train.

Wether or not the restaurant is the closest you will get to Osaka outside of Japan (as it claims), it has captured the essence of Japan. The restaurant even plays Japanese music! Definitely an experience that makes one nostalgic if you've ever visited the land of the rising sun yourself.
