Palermo Ristorante Italiano

To celebrate my dad's birthday, as well as my aunt's, who was in town visiting, we made a reservation for the five of us on a Saturday night. My dad was the only one of us who had ever dyed here before, and I had heard such wonderful things about the food that I was eager to try it.

To start, I ordered a bowl of minestrone soup, which was delicious. Everyone else around the table ordered salads which they enjoyed.

For my meal I decided to try the gnocchi with meat sauce while both my husband and my father ordered the lasagna. When I say that the size of this lasagna is comical, you will not believe how large it truly is until you see it with your own eyes. Size aside, my husband let me nibble a few bites of his lasagna and it was absolutely delicious. But be prepared for leftovers or plan to share the lasagna with at least two or three people.

Everyone was extremely pleased with their meals and this is definitely one of the better Italian spots in the Sacramento area to visit.

Food: delicious, just need more vegetarian items. A great place to get local Italian food!

This family owned restaurant was a real treat. The intimate setting & family atmosphere really made for an enjoyable experience. We were greeted right away & given fresh bread with whipped butter. So good.
For an appetizer, we ordered the mussels in this Mustard cream sauce & while it tasted delicious, it was very salty. Even when I ate it with the bread, the saltiness just overpowered the rest of the ingredients - 3/5
My partner ordered the lasagna (which they are well known for). It's 32 layers (or something like that; not over exaggerating). The sauce is a perfect blend of tomatoes & other seasonings. Definitely would recommend - 5/5
I ordered their LINGUINE TAORMINA. I added scallops to it. It was delicious. Very light & "fresh". The ingredients paired well with each other & they put the right amount of olive oil so it wasn't greasy. My prawns were lacking. I feel like the scallops were prepared better than the shrimp it actually came with - 4/5
I do love that they have fresh grated cheese available!
Lastly, we couldn't leave without dessert. Omigosh...the lemon cake...just WOW. Everything here is made fresh & not to be cliché but made with love & the dessert is no exception. Light, fluffy, moist & the perfect amount of sweet & tart - 5/5
The servers were very attentive & the place was clean, so between that & the good food, we'll be back.

I have wanted to try this place and finally got a chance! It is very jive with excellent customer service. I was craving pasta and seafood and this place definitely satisfied my craving. I did order to go, but would love to eat in next time.
I got the risotto frutti di mare, I substituted the risotto with linguini... it was absolutely delicious. Lots of seafood and lots of flavor, I can't wait to come back!

It has been a few years since I have come here and recall a good experience.

Ambiance
We are greeted at the door by a gentleman who may be the owner. The place is charming, wooden chairs and tables, dimmed lighting. It is located in a strip mall.

The owner sat us, he gave us menus, I asked what specials he recommended he really did not respond.
Our server was polite and attentive, I am not sure she was very familiar with menu and the house wines. She did top our dishes with Parmesan cheese.

Risotto Frutta Di Mare
This was delicious. Had scallops, salmon, calamari, shrimp, mussels and clams. Generous proteins and dish cooked perfectly.

Farfalle Gratinate
This was extremely disappointing. It was bland. We have ordered this before and it was excellent, dish was topped with cheese and finished in oven with a nice crisp topping, not today. The menu states it has 'cheese crust' it does not, the chef was just lazy.

I've been here twice, hence why some pictures are from different days but the food and service has been amazing both times. The pasta's are so rich and delicious! They have quite a few wines to select from. I would say do not pass up on dessert. Highly recommended for anyone in the Elk Grove area looking for authentic delicious Italian food!!

First timers here and they disappoint
The gnocchi, chicken parmigiana were all delicious. Large portions as you can see from the meatball rigatoni pictured below. Great open space, bar area is inviting with a great selection of liquor.
The bus boy was very attentive and friendly.
Wished they had a child's menu though.

This is my family's absolute FAVORITE Italian place. We decided to go there with a large group for a birthday celebration and they accommodated us comfortably (even though we were a little late making reservations). We had the lamb, ravioli, HUGE lasagna and all were so yummy. The owner was there cooking that night and came out to entertain us with a few jokes. Can't say enough about this place. Go!!! You can thank me later.
